New Short Reads every week: 10 to 20 minute non-fiction on history, health, science and economics. Read them with Readrrr.
Readrrr uses Rapid Serial Visual Presentation to show words one at a time in the same spot, and a natural voice can read each word aloud as it appears. Your eyes don't have to jump across lines, so you don't lose your place and read faster. Seeing and hearing every word at the same time also keeps your mind from drifting. Start at your normal pace and speed up as it gets comfortable.
A Readrrr subscription or one-time purchase includes everything below:
RSVP READER
Every word has one letter marked in red for your eyes to rest on, so you never have to look for where the word starts. You can change the speed at any time.
NARRATION
Pick a voice and it reads along in sync with every word at any speed. The voice runs on your phone, so it works offline.
SHORT READS
Non-fiction you can finish in 10 to 20 minutes, on topics like history, health, science and economics. Each one is written to be read in Readrrr and sits in a collection with related reads. New ones come out every week, and you can suggest a topic.
READ ANYTHING
Import PDFs and EPUBs, send an article from Safari with one tap, paste text, or scan pages from a paper book.
APP LOCKING
Pick the apps that take up your day. Starting at 4 am they stay locked until you've read your daily word goal. Every day you hit it adds to your streak. If you really need one of them, you can unlock for 10 minutes once a day.
HIGHLIGHTS
Save any passage while you read. Readrrr sorts your highlights into themes and brings old ones back to you in the app and in a Home Screen widget, so you don't forget what you read.
STATS
Track your reading speed, words read and streak as they grow.
SYNC
Your library, reading position and stats stay in sync across your devices.
SUBSCRIPTION
Readrrr requires a subscription or a one-time purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage them in your App Store account settings.

Verified User - This app is a great example of AI helping people.

Most of the different AI apps or services that I use are about convincing myself that I’m making progress learning something or making me feel like I’m gathering information but not really progressing towards learning. This app is not a replacement for reading. It is an evolution of how best to ingest information in multiple ways. You can still print off the PDF of the document that you plugged into this app, but your investing in different ways of learning going through a printed document with a highlighter and red pen is good and you should do that if it’s important information that you need to understand, but this is another layer on top of it. This is another way to make it easier to stimulate your brain for information. That’s pretty impressive.
best speed reading for my brain

i've been looking for a speed reading app to train with for a while. i've tried plenty, and none of vibed with me. this approach (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation, RSVP) works for my brain-- focusing so intently on a single spot helps me drown out distractions-- plus the safari extension seems to work well. i just downloaded the app and will update if it scorns me. i was not happy to pay the price, but if this ~25 bucks ACTUALLY helps me over the course of the year it will be incredibly worth it.
Outstanding!

Works great! Exactly what I was looking for. Only one complaint is you should allow the user to hide the bright WPM setting bar that is on the bottom of the screen. It is like a flashlight your eyes while you are trying to read. A simple toggle in settings to hide that would be cool! Other than that, it is great.
OCR non-functional
Damaged G00DS
I tested Readrrr using a photograph of a textbook page containing conventional printed English text in a standard two-column layout. The page is clearly legible to a human reader, with high-contrast type and distinct headings. Readrrr’s resulting text was sufficiently corrupted that I could not reliably determine where in the textbook the generated text originated. This is a fundamental failure for an app marketed for reading/importing books and scanned material. This wasn’t an edge case involving handwriting, poor-quality historical material, unusual fonts, or a damaged document. It was a modern, professionally printed textbook page. If Readrrr cannot reliably process this type of page, your marketing should make the limitations of its scan/OCR functionality much clearer.
