Backgammon - Tavla Online
Online, AI & the Kahvehane
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Master the ancient game of strategy. Tavla brings classic backgammon to your device — with ranked ONLINE multiplayer against players worldwide, a lantern-lit Kahvehane full of rival regulars, and smart AI that works with no internet at all.
MEET TAHIR AND YUSUF BEY AT THE KAHVEHANE
Step into a Turkish coffeehouse straight off Istanbul's back streets. Tahir and Yusuf Bey are the house regulars — two rivals with their own voice, their own table talk, and firm opinions about how tavla should be played. Choose who's sitting across the board from you, pick your side, and see if you can send them home quiet.
PLAY ONLINE — PLAYERS WORLDWIDE
Jump into ranked online matches against players anywhere in the world. Play it out, watch your rating climb, and rise through the global ranks. If no one is free, you play one of our clearly labeled AI bots, each with its own rating, earned against players. Bot games count for your rating.
SMART AI OPPONENTS
Face off against AI that adapts to your skill level. Whether you're a beginner learning the basics or a seasoned player seeking a real challenge, every game meets you where you are — and works fully offline.
LAN MULTIPLAYER — NO INTERNET NEEDED
Challenge friends on the same WiFi network for classic two-player backgammon. No accounts, no sign-ups — just connect and play. Perfect for game nights, travel, or any head-to-head match.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Detailed statistics show your win rate, match history, total games, and performance trends. See exactly how your strategy is improving over time.
CLIMB THE RANKS
Earn your way through Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Champion ranks — online and off. Every win counts, every loss teaches, and consistent play is rewarded.
CUSTOMIZE YOUR BOARD
Choose your piece color, select from multiple board themes, and make the game yours. Classic wood, dark mode, and more — play backgammon the way you like it.
FAIR DICE — EVERY ROLL
True random dice rolls powered by proven algorithms. No rigged outcomes, no pay-to-win mechanics. Every game is decided by strategy and skill.
100% FREE — NO PAY TO WIN
Full backgammon experience with no paywalls, no premium dice, no locked features. Everything is available from day one.
