TODAY VIEW
See your live step count, a progress ring toward your daily goal, and an inspiring fitness quote to keep you moving. Your goal is always front and center.
7-DAY HISTORY
Track your walking trends with a bar chart of the last 7 days. See your weekly total and daily average at a glance so you know exactly how consistent you have been.
32 ACHIEVEMENTS AND BADGES
MotivoSteps turns your steps into a collection of badges you earn over time. Every badge has a name, a tier, and a story behind it.
Streak and Goal Badges
Earn these by building consistency. First Victory unlocks the first time you hit your goal. On a Roll rewards a 3-day streak. Week Warrior takes 7 days in a row. Monthly Champion requires 30 consecutive days. Overachiever fires when you hit 200 percent of your goal in one day. Early Bird unlocks when you reach your goal before noon.
Lifetime Step Milestones
Century at 100,000 steps. Half Million at 500,000. Million Steps at one million. These mark how far you have walked across your entire life with the app.
Year Legend
This badge evolves as you grow. Hit your goal for 365 cumulative days and earn the Bronze Year One badge. Reach 1,095 days and it upgrades to Silver Three Year Legend. At 1,825 days it becomes the Gold Five Year Legend. One badge, three chapters.
Trail and Landmark Badges
These badges let you virtually walk the most iconic trails and landmarks in the world using your lifetime step total. Walk the equivalent of real places, one step at a time.
City Walks earn Bronze badges: The High Line in New York, the Freedom Trail in Boston, El Malecon in Havana, the Atlanta BeltLine, and the Embarcadero in San Francisco.
National Park Hikes earn Silver badges: Bright Angel Trail at the Grand Canyon, Half Dome in Yosemite, Angels Landing in Zion, Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, Old Rag Mountain in Shenandoah, the Caminito del Rey in Spain, and the Na Pali Coast in Kauai.
Epic Long-Distance Trails earn Gold badges: the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim, the Camino de Santiago, the Great Wall of China hiking section, the Inca Trail in Peru, the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, and Te Araroa in New Zealand.
ACHIEVEMENT CELEBRATIONS
The moment you unlock a badge, a full-screen celebration takes over with a confetti explosion bursting from the center of the screen, a spinning badge coin, and haptic feedback. Every celebration is color-matched to the badge tier. Tap anywhere or press Awesome to dismiss.
GOAL SYNC WITH APPLE WATCH
Set your daily step goal on iPhone and it syncs to your Apple Watch instantly. Change it on the Watch and it updates on iPhone. Both devices always stay in sync using all available WatchConnectivity channels.

1.0.15 Sep 28
This update focuses on accuracy, stability, and polish. No new screens, just a better app all around.
MORE ACCURATE WEEKLY AND MONTHLY STEP COUNTS
The Year Progress chart (Pro) previously estimated your weekly and monthly steps by extrapolating from your yearly total. If you had a particularly active or slow stretch, those numbers could be noticeably off. Version 1.0.14 fetches your actual step data directly from HealthKit for both the current week and current month, so the stats you see in the chart now reflect what really happened, not a mathematical approximation.
SMOOTHER WIDGET PERFORMANCE
The step count widgets (both iPhone home screen and Apple Watch complications) previously refreshed every 15 minutes. This created unnecessary background activity. Widgets now refresh every hour, which reduces background wake-ups and is easier on battery without any meaningful loss in usefulness.
ACHIEVEMENT BADGES ARE MORE RELIABLE
A subtle issue could cause badge celebrations to queue incorrectly under rare conditions when multiple achievements unlocked close together. The underlying data store now runs fully on the main thread, which ensures every celebration shows up in the right order.
STABILITY AND UNDER-THE-HOOD FIXES
If the Apple Watch ever stored a corrupted or out-of-range step goal after a sync error, it would use that bad value instead of falling back to the default. The app now validates the stored goal and resets to 10,000 if something looks wrong.
The "Try Our Other Apps" screen now shows a proper app icon placeholder while each icon loads, instead of a plain gray box.
As always, thank you for using MotivoSteps. If you are enjoying the app, a rating or review on the App Store means a lot and helps us keep building.
1.0.14 Jul 22
Redesigned Navigation
We've completely reimagined how you move through MotivoSteps. The old tab bar has been replaced with a clean, streamlined single-screen design. Your Today view is now front and center — always visible the moment you open the app. A gear icon in the top-left corner gives you quick access to Settings, while a new hamburger menu in the top-right lets you jump to History and Achievements. This change gives your step data more room to breathe and puts the focus where it belongs: on your progress today.
Rock-Solid Scrolling Experience
You may have noticed that in previous versions, the Today screen could sometimes be dragged horizontally — the entire view, including the navigation title, would shift left and right when you swiped. This was caused by a subtle layout issue where complex card views could expand beyond the screen width inside the scroll container. We've completely eliminated this behavior. The Today view now scrolls vertically only, exactly as intended. No more accidental horizontal bouncing or rubber-banding. Just smooth, predictable scrolling through your daily stats.
Landscape Mode: Charts That Fill Your Screen
Pro users, this one's for you. The Hourly Steps and Heart Rate charts now intelligently adapt to landscape orientation. Previously, when you rotated your device, the chart content stayed narrow and didn't take advantage of the extra horizontal space. Now, the charts dynamically measure the available width and expand to fill the entire screen. In portrait, they still scroll horizontally when you have a full 24 hours of data. In landscape, they stretch to use every pixel. It's the best of both worlds — compact when space is tight, expansive when you've got room.
Smoother Year in Progress
The Year in Progress chart has been rebuilt under the hood for better performance and stability. The progress bars now use a more efficient rendering technique that eliminates layout conflicts with the scroll container. The visual result is the same beautiful gradient bars showing your weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly progress — but the underlying implementation is lighter and more reliable. This was one of the key changes that eliminated the horizontal rubber-banding issue.
Liquid Glass Design
All cards throughout the app now use the Liquid Glass design language introduced in iOS 26. The translucent, depth-aware glass effect gives every card a modern, premium feel that adapts to your wallpaper and surrounding content. From the Progress Ring to the Stat Cards, from the Pro Charts to the Motivation Quotes — every surface has been updated to embrace this new visual standard.
Pro Features Reminder
If you haven't unlocked Pro yet, here's what you're missing: hourly step breakdowns with bar charts, real-time heart rate tracking from your Apple Watch, synchronized chart scrolling, year-in-progress tracking across four time periods (week, month, quarter, year), and smart step projections based on your current pace. Tap the "Unlock Pro" button on the Today screen to get started.
Bug Fixes & Performance
• Fixed an issue where the interactive back-swipe gesture could trigger unexpectedly on the root screen
• Improved layout stability for all card views inside the main scroll container
• Optimized chart width calculations to prevent unnecessary redraws during orientation changes
• Resolved edge cases where chart content could overflow card boundaries when scroll lock was disabled
1.0.13 May 5
MotivoSteps Pro is here — a one-time $1.99 unlock that adds two advanced analytics charts and a new Home Screen widget. No subscription. No expiry. Pay once, keep it forever.
Hourly Steps Chart (Pro)
See your entire day broken down into 24 hourly bars. If you wear an Apple Watch, your heart rate overlays the chart so you can see how effort and movement relate throughout the day. Scroll both charts together or let them move independently. A stats footer shows your peak hour, total steps so far today, average BPM, and peak BPM.
Year in Progress Chart (Pro)
Are you on pace to hit your step goal for the year? This card answers that question across four time periods — Year, Month, Week, and Day. Each period shows two horizontal bars: one for time elapsed, one for goal pace. Color-coded status badges tell you at a glance whether you're On Track, Behind, or have already Achieved your target. A projection footer shows your estimated year-end step total at your current pace, your full year goal, and exactly how many steps per day you need going forward to still hit it.
Year in Progress Widget (Pro)
The same four time bars — Year, Month, Week, Day — right on your Home Screen in Small or Medium size. Updates every hour so the bars always reflect where you actually are in the day, week, month, and year. If Pro hasn't been purchased yet, the widget shows a friendly prompt instead of blank space.
Single one-time purchase covers everything
One $1.99 purchase unlocks both charts and the widget. There is nothing else to buy.
Full English and Spanish localization
Every string across all new features — both charts, the paywall, the widget, and the History screen range picker — is now fully localized in both English and Spanish.
Bug fixes and improvements
Fixed the step widget not reflecting goal changes immediately after updating your daily goal. Fixed the Week bar in the Year Progress widget overflowing off screen on certain devices. Fixed incorrect ISO week numbers appearing in the widget. Fixed a month progress calculation that was off by one day. Widgets now update immediately when Pro is purchased, restored, or revoked — no waiting for the next scheduled refresh.
