Supersets, drop sets, rep ladders and timed holds are here. Plan them into any workout, and let your program keep working out the weights and warmups. Balorath is a barbell training app where the program does the thinking. Choose a proven strength program or build your own, and every workout arrives with its sets, weights and warmups already worked out. Log your sets, and the program moves your weights up as you get stronger. PROGRAMS THAT RUN THEMSELVES • Starting Strength, nSuns 5/3/1 and GZCLP included, each with per-lift progression • AMRAP sets feed back into your training max, so a custom program can recalculate between cycles from what you actually lifted • Program builder: set schemes, progression rules, cycles, warmup policies and rounding — your program, written once and applied every session BUILD YOUR OWN WORKOUTS • Supersets of two or more exercises, worked round by round • Drop sets, planned on the last set and logged drop by drop • Warm-up, failure and drop set types • Rep ladders: a different rep target for each set, like 12, 10, 8, 6 • Timed holds for planks and other isometric exercises, with a stopwatch, optional added weight and a longest-hold record IN THE GYM • Plate calculator that uses your gym's own bars and plates, in kg or lbs • Warmup sets generated for you, with your rounding preferences • Rest timer that alerts you when it's time for your next set • Live Activity on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island with your current exercise, set and workout time • Undo a completed set or a weight or reps change TRACK EVERYTHING • Full workout history and per-exercise records • 1RM and training-max formulas built in • Finished workouts saved to Apple Health YOURS • No account, no sign-up • Your log is stored on your iPhone and syncs through your own iCloud account — you can turn sync off • Export and import your entire log as a JSON file anytime Built for iPhone by a lifter who wanted the spreadsheet out of the squat rack. A bigger update: new ways to train, and a long list of fixes. NEW • Supersets. Group two or more exercises and work through them round by round, with what's done and what's next always in view. A superset stays together in your saved workouts. • Drop sets. Plan a drop on an exercise's last set, then log each drop as you go. • Set types. Mark a set as a warm-up, a failure set or a drop set. • Rep ladders. Give each set its own rep target, like 12, 10, 8, 6, in your own workouts. • Timed holds. Planks and other holds log time instead of reps: start the timer, stop it when you're done, and add weight if you use it. Your longest hold is kept as a record. • Workout editors show only the options that fit the exercise, so a hold or a cardio exercise no longer offers rep and drop-set settings. IMPROVED • Rest timers and workout notifications now arrive. The app explains what they're for and asks the first time you start a workout, and everything still works if you say no. • Undo covers weight and reps changes, not just completed sets. • Switching between kg and lbs converts your bar, plates and increments in one go, and the weight you're logging always shows its unit. • The plate calculator scales to the plates you own, and opening it without changing anything no longer rewrites the set. • You can rename a saved workout, and editing one can be cancelled. • History updates as soon as you finish, shows each set in the unit it was logged in, and Repeat brings back warm-ups and AMRAP sets as you had them. • AMRAP sets are clearly marked while you train, and program workouts include all of their planned lifts again. • Mark Done fits on the first screen of a set on smaller phones. • Balorath no longer asks Health for permission to read your weight, which it never used. FIXES • Home's calendar starts on your week's first day, and Quick Start offers what you trained most recently. • An age, height or weight you never entered stays blank. • Restore Default Data no longer duplicates the built-in workouts, and syncing past workouts to Health skips ones already there. • If an export fails, the app now tells you.
