Encyclopedia: Kids Learning
Read, listen, watch. Ages 5-12
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Over 1,000 topics for children ages 5-12 — every one read aloud, every one paired with a short video. An encyclopedia that reads itself to your kids.
New entries added every day, across science, history, the natural world, technology, and the arts. Every article runs 300 to 500 words, written for independent readers in the middle grades — the gap between picture-book apps and Wikipedia.
READ, LISTEN, OR WATCH
The three-way pairing is the foundation of the app:
• Older children read the article
• Middle readers follow along with the narration
• Younger children watch the paired video and absorb the same material
At bedtime, press play. The narration becomes a bedtime story — short, educational, and read aloud so you don't have to.
A REWARDS SYSTEM PARENTS ACTUALLY CONTROL
A built-in token economy that replaces paper chore charts and sticker books:
• You define the behaviors that count — reading time, chores, homework, instrument practice, getting dressed without being asked
• You set each point value and define the rewards — thirty minutes of screen time, a new book, a trip to the park, dessert on a school night
• Two modes, tuned to age: parents confirm each completion for younger children; older children log their own progress and parents approve rewards
A READING HABIT THAT BUILDS
• Daily reading streaks turn learning into a habit, with milestone rewards that keep kids coming back
• Streak protection — one missed day doesn't erase months of progress
• Points, achievements, and leaderboards give children short-term goals on the way to the big milestones
BUDDIES — COLLECT AS YOU LEARN
Learning earns eggs that hatch into buddies: 30 hand-drawn, animated companions to raise, evolve, and collect. Show off your three favorites on your profile. Buddies are earned entirely through learning.
BUILT FOR MULTI-CHILD FAMILIES
• One family account, multiple child profiles — each with their own progress, streak, leaderboard rank, and reward balance
• Children can sign in on their own device — a parent on a phone, a child on a tablet, everything synced
• The parent dashboard shows each child's progress, streaks, achievements, and reward balance in one place — protected by a PIN that works across every linked device
WHAT'S INSIDE
• Science, space and astronomy, animals and wildlife, the human body, earth and environment
• History, ancient civilizations, geography, technology and computers, arts and music
• Search across every article
• Flashcard decks covering sight words, math facts, the solar system, and states and capitals, plus decks you create yourself
SAFETY
• No advertising of any kind — no ad networks, no promoted content, no licensed characters
• Behavior rewards and flashcard progress work offline and sync when the device reconnects
