paperite is a fast, keyboard-driven markdown editor with on-device AI built right in.
You take notes in meetings, document decisions, and track action items, but most editors either look messy while you write or hide the markdown you need. paperite gives you both: edit directly in a clean rendered view, or toggle to raw mode when you want full control. One window, always polished, always ready to share your screen.

Record Meetings & Chat with Them Later
Record audio right inside paperite. Transcriptions are processed on-device so nothing leaves your Mac. After the meeting, ask questions about what was discussed, find specific moments, or pull out key decisions — all through a natural conversation with your recording.
On-Device AI, Completely Private
Summarize your notes, extract action items, or generate diagrams. All powered by Apple Intelligence running locally on your Mac. Compare what changed since your last checkpoint and get structured analysis: decisions made, tasks completed, open items. No cloud, no API calls, no data leaving your device.
Turn Notes into Tasks
Mark action items as you write and they collect in a dedicated Tasks panel, with views for the current document, everything due today, and every task across your notes. Each task links back to the exact spot in the note where it came from, so one click takes you to its context. Add a due date inline and, if you choose, sync tasks to Apple Reminders so they show up on your iPhone, in Siri, and anywhere Reminders goes. Syncing is optional and runs through your own Apple account. Your notes, audio, and transcriptions never leave your Mac.

Tasks and Apple Reminders
Action items in your notes now live in a dedicated Tasks panel, with Today, All, and per-document views. Each task links straight back to where you wrote it. Add due dates inline and optionally sync to Apple Reminders, so your tasks follow you to iPhone and Siri. Syncing is opt-in and uses your own Apple account.
A real library for your notes
paperite now keeps your notes in an organized library with folders you can browse from the sidebar. A guided migration brings your existing notes in, and everything stays as plain markdown files you fully control.
A clearer two-panel layout
The sidebar on the left answers "where am I," with Library and Outline tabs. The panel on the right answers "what does this note know," gathering AI chat, recordings, and tasks in one place.
Plus the usual round of refinements and fixes.
As always, your documents, audio, transcriptions, and on-device AI stay on your Mac.
