Readify Lock holds your apps closed until you have read today's page. Not a reminder you can swipe away — a real door, and reading is the key. The point isn't the lock. It's the quiet stretch before the day starts talking.
HOW THE LOCK WORKS, PLAINLY
Readify Lock uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) to pause every app it can reach on your iPhone, at a time your challenge sets and shows you in your own time zone before you join. This is not a per-app picker: while the lock is on, the apps it can reach do not open. Granting Screen Time permission is required to join a challenge — pausing your apps is the whole product, so a challenge without it would do nothing at all. You can sign in and browse Discover without granting it.
YOUR DAY
1. At the lock time, your apps stop opening.
2. You read today's page. One focused page, one idea worth keeping.
3. You answer one recall question. The server confirms it, the lock lifts, and your apps stay open for the rest of the day.
Miss the question twice and Readify still opens your apps — you simply don't earn that day's streak, XP, or leaderboard credit. One hard question should not cost you your phone.
READING THAT GOES SOMEWHERE
Your reading comes from challenges: structured programmes of 1 to 31 days, built by approved creators, some written directly and some drafted with AI help and edited by the creator before publishing. Find one in Discover, or enter the six-character code someone sent you. The challenge leaderboard follows days completed, streak, accuracy, and XP, so you are keeping it up alongside other people rather than alone.
Record keeps the part that matters: your streak, your reading history, and the takeaway line from each day you completed.
WHAT YOU CAN COUNT ON
• There is always a way out. Open Readify and one tap releases your apps for the day — you see the cost before you confirm.
• If today's reading cannot be delivered, Readify unlocks rather than leaving you stuck.
• Nothing locks until you join a challenge. Readify's own monthly programmes offer to carry you into the next month's edition; that choice is a switch on the join screen, set before you confirm and changeable at any time.
• Readify stores no list of your installed apps and no app-usage history.
• Once you have joined, the lock time you agreed to cannot be changed on you.
• You can report a challenge or block a creator from Discover at any time.
LEAVING
You can leave a challenge whenever you want. Turning Screen Time off also ends your active challenge, and the progress and streak inside it are gone — Readify cannot keep a challenge running when it can no longer pause anything. You can join again whenever you like.
FOR CREATORS
Approved creators can build a reading challenge with AI help from a topic or their own PDF, edit every day before publishing, and share it by code. Listing publicly is available after review. Creators do not join their own challenges.
Fully available in English and Romanian.
This first release has no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads.
