more I used to browse kinda aimlessly in record stores, looking at album covers and backs without really knowing much about a lot of the albums I was looking at. Then I found this app and that experience totally changed. I can finally get the details behind the records without “Google it and hope for the best”.

Use this constantly when I’m at record stores. Scan a sleeve, instantly know which pressing I’m holding, and preview the tracks before dropping money on it. Saves me from buying duds. Exactly what a vinyl collector needs.

Last month in records: open Owned in Profile to turn the records you added last month into a shareable video.

- Snippets or videos: flip the whole tracklist between audio snippets and music videos with one tap.
- New Monthly records share card: turn the records you added this month into a short video you can post, or keep the grid you already had.
- Dead wax search: type the etching from a record's run-out groove and find the pressing it belongs to.
- Search scopes: point search at masters, versions, artists, or dead wax.
- Version filter: narrow a long version list by label, catalog number, or dead wax.

What's New:
Share Your Collection
Tap the new share button to turn your records into a beautiful cover grid image — then send it anywhere. You can share your entire collection, your Wishlist, or whatever you're currently browsing: a specific genre, a folder, or any other filtered view.
1.34 Jun 12
This release is focused on stability and performance.
Your collection stays put
Pull-to-refresh no longer blanks your shelf, and your genre, decade, label, and folder filters hold their place as your collection grows. No more glitches in collection.
Sharper scanning from photos
When you scan from a saved photo, Plastic now waits until it's genuinely sure of the album before matching — fewer wrong guesses, more "yep, that's the one."
IOS18 adjustments
A crisper frosted tab bar, a better-aligned Radar icon, and accent colors that quietly pick up the mood of whatever you're looking at.
Thanks for digging with us

What's new:
Vinyl color is easier to spot when comparing versions now. When color data is available, Plastic treats it as a real pressing detail, so limited and colored variants stand out more clearly in the picker list.
Focused reliability updates:
Release-only Discogs records now stay properly connected after a scan, so rare pressings without a Discogs master are less likely to show up as plain local albums in Recent Scans.
Scanning and recognition are sturdier under the hood too: reopened albums refresh more cleanly, and pressing details like release dates, format notes, labels, catalog numbers, and vinyl color are preserved more consistently.
We also tightened Apple Music matching, especially for compilations and tricky tracklists, so previews should be less likely to duplicate or drift to the wrong version.
1.32 May 31
Plastic got a fresh update:
• Radar is now in early preview for everyone: a new way to discover records through daily updates of newly released vinyl, album anniversaries on cards, and Deep Dives for records worth spending more time with.
• You can now identify records from saved photos and screenshots too, including shop and marketplace listings. Spot something online, save it, and let Plastic help figure out what record you are looking at.
• We also made the version picker sharper, so it is easier to compare pressing details like country, year, label, catalog number, edition, popularity, and vinyl color when available.
Plus: search is faster, tracklists appear sooner, previews behave better across Apple Music and YouTube, and Discogs sync is more reliable.
1.31 May 27
Now you can see if the album celebrates it's anniversary within a current week!
