Scan the lot number on your food and check it against official U.S. recalls. Track food product recalls in the United States and spot your allergens. Built for individuals and food-industry professionals. INDEPENDENT APP Numeline is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. government, the FDA, the USDA, or any other public authority, and does not represent any government entity. DATA SOURCES Numeline aggregates public and open data: - Recalls: the FDA, including its recall press releases, and the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) for meat, poultry, and egg products. Sources: https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts and https://www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls - Product details, ingredients, and allergens: the open Open Food Facts database. Source: https://world.openfoodfacts.org/ None of these sources is affiliated with or endorses Numeline. BROWSE RECALLS FOR FREE Browse food recalls published by the FDA and USDA. No scanning, no subscription required. SCAN YOUR PRODUCTS Scan a product's barcode, then photograph its lot or batch number: Numeline reads the code and checks, by brand and lot, whether it matches an official FDA or USDA recall. You can also type the lot yourself. Ideal for groceries, inventory, or incoming shipments. WHEN NO LOT NUMBER IS PUBLISHED Agencies sometimes announce a recall without publishing lot codes. Rather than reporting nothing found, Numeline flags a possible recall when the brand and product type match, and shows the details that were published, such as "Best if Used By" dates, so you can check your item. Numeline also monitors FDA press releases, often published before the enforcement database is updated. ALLERGENS AND DIET Build a profile and every scan is compared against it: - The major allergens, including gluten, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soybeans, fish, shellfish, sesame, mustard, and sulfites - Celiac mode for strict gluten avoidance, including traces - Foods to avoid: pork, seafood, beef, alcohol, gelatin - Vegetarian and vegan - Pregnancy mode: raw milk, deli meat, raw fish, meat and eggs, sprouts, high-mercury fish, liver, caffeine - Thousands of searchable ingredients, plus any food you add yourself - Thresholds for sugar, fat, saturated fat, and salt Useful for allergies, intolerances, diets, pregnancy, and diabetes. This information is declarative and may be incomplete. Always check the label. RECALL ALERTS Get notified if a product you have already scanned becomes subject to a recall. Monitoring continues automatically after your scan, even when the app is closed. COMPLETE INFORMATION For each recall: brand, reason (listeria, salmonella, undeclared allergen, foreign object), affected lots, distributor, what to do, and a link to the official notice. FOR PROFESSIONALS For restaurants, food trucks, supermarkets, grocery stores, school cafeterias, catering, distributors, nursing homes, daycares, and healthcare facilities. Business plans add higher scan volumes, history retention up to one year, team seats, and PDF, CSV, or XLSX exports. FOR INDIVIDUALS Check the products in your kitchen or cart. Hundreds of food recalls are issued in the United States every year. SECURE SIGN-IN Create your account in seconds with Google, Apple, or email. Your preferences, profile, and history are synced and secure. FREE AND PREMIUM Browsing recalls is always free. The free plan includes one automatic lot reading, 10 barcode scans per month, and up to 10 manual lot checks per month. Beyond that, subscriptions and one-time scan packs unlock more scanning. Pack credits never expire. Numeline is a reference tool and does not replace official communications from health authorities. If in doubt, check directly with the FDA or the USDA. No lot number? Now you can scan the date. Many products — fresh items and store brands — don't print a lot number. The FDA and USDA identify those recalls by the "Best if Used By" date instead. Tap "No lot number?" and Numeline reads the date and checks it against the official recall window. Also in this release: • Clearer allergen warnings: when product data is incomplete, Numeline now says "suspected trace of…" for each of your profile's allergens instead of simply failing to verify — safety first. • Faster lot detection: recall checks now run on a warm server, removing the slow first scan.
