LNKmagic makes Windows .lnk shortcut files usable on the Mac.
In mixed networks with Windows machines, .lnk files are everywhere — shortcuts to network drives and folders that macOS cannot open. LNKmagic solves this problem:
• Double-click a .lnk file — the target opens in Finder
• Network paths (UNC/SMB) are resolved automatically
• Runs invisibly in the background, no configuration needed
• Native Swift — no dependencies, no Python, no Automator
How it works:
1. Install LNKmagic
2. Double-click a .lnk file (or right-click → Open With)
3. The linked network drive opens in Finder
LNKmagic registers itself as the default handler for .lnk files and assigns them a custom icon in Finder.

Network shares are now connected once and reused. Previously, every double-click could create an additional volume (Name 1, Name 2, ...). The app now also cleans up such duplicates automatically on each run. Shortcuts whose target no longer exists open the nearest existing folder instead of failing.
