New in 3.0: a fresh design, your own alert Rules, and a Sleep page that shows which app keeps your Mac awake. Pulse Pro is one purchase, never a subscription.
Your Mac slowed down and you don't know why? Pulse does. It catches CPU and memory spikes as they happen and shows you which apps were busiest when they began.
Your Mac's vital signs live in the menu bar. One click shows everything, and a full dashboard gives every metric its own page. No Activity Monitor to dig through.
NEW IN 3.0
- A new design, with settings right in the dashboard
- Rules: your own alerts, from a metric, a threshold and how long it holds
- Sleep: which app keeps your Mac awake, plus Keep Awake
- Disk Treemap: every folder sized by what it really takes up
- Load average and P/E cores
- Copy your Mac's vitals as an image to share
FIND WHAT SLOWS YOUR MAC DOWN
Pulse keeps a Spike Log: every CPU and memory spike is recorded with a timestamp and the apps that were busiest at that moment. Stop guessing, start knowing.
WHAT KEEPS YOUR MAC AWAKE
Mac won't sleep? The Sleep page names the app holding it awake. Need the opposite? Keep Awake stops idle sleep with one click, while your display is still free to turn off.
WEEKLY HEALTH REPORT
Once a week, Pulse sums up how your Mac really did: spikes and the apps behind them, recurring patterns, a storage forecast and battery aging.
PULSE PRO: ONE PURCHASE, YOURS FOREVER
No subscription, no recurring fees. A single purchase unlocks:
- Rules: custom alerts for any metric, up to 20
- Spike culprits: see which apps were busiest during every spike
- The full Weekly Health Report
- Top Apps: the full list of what's using RAM and CPU
- 24-hour and 7-day history for CPU, memory and network
- Disk Treemap: find the largest folders and files, reveal or trash them
- Up to three metrics in the menu bar, each as a number, a graph or both
- Keep Awake timers: an hour, until 18:00, or while charging
- Which apps use the GPU, and VRAM for every GPU
- 1-second refresh, the fastest monitoring interval
- Save reports to a file and export history as CSV
HEALTH SCORE
One number that tells you how your Mac is doing right now, with a breakdown of the factors behind it.
EVERYTHING VISIBLE, ALWAYS
- CPU: total and per-core usage, P and E cores, load average, thermal state
- Memory: pressure indicator, active/wired/compressed breakdown
- Disk: all volumes, read/write speeds
- Network: live up/down speeds, data transferred today, connection type
- Battery: charge, health percentage, cycle count, time remaining
- GPU: live utilization
MENU BAR, YOUR WAY
Show CPU, memory, disk, network, battery or GPU right in the menu bar. Color-coded badges shift from green to red as usage climbs. Open the popover from anywhere with a keyboard shortcut.
SMART ALERTS THAT MAKE SENSE
Pulse doesn't cry wolf. CPU alerts wait for sustained load, not a brief spike. Memory alerts follow real pressure, not raw percentages. Every built-in alert can be tuned.
LIGHTWEIGHT BY DESIGN
No background daemons, no helper processes. Pure Swift and SwiftUI, typically under 1% CPU. When nothing is on screen, Pulse slows its own polling down.
PRIVACY FIRST
No analytics. No tracking. Your system stats never leave your Mac. The only connection Pulse ever makes is to the App Store, for the optional Pro purchase.
ACCESSIBLE, IN 13 LANGUAGES
Every element supports VoiceOver and respects reduced motion. Pulse speaks English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Pulse gets right to the heart of the matter…
mac-kerel
…of your mac’s vital signs. It lives in your menubar, non-obtrusively, and logs the load on your cpu, gpu, and memory. It also lists the apps most responsible. It shows disk usage/free, and network traffic rate. The leftmost icon at the bottom of the window brings up a weekly health report with comparison to the previous week. When I suggested a slight change to the author, his response was almost immediate, and it was implemented very quickly.I really like PULSE. It has replaced another very popular and long-standing menubar app I had used for several years. PULSE is a keeper!
