No wait during backups. During an iCloud backup, opening photos and videos and importing no longer wait for the backup. Joining a shared vault. Joining a shared vault on a device that holds another device's vault data now opens the recovery screen. Restore without errors. Restore Purchases no longer shows an error when you close the App Store sign-in sheet.

Changes are kept. A change made right after the vault reloads is saved instead of lost. Notes save at once. Saving a note no longer waits while a photo or video opens. Deleting originals works. After an import, photos that cannot be deleted, such as photos synced from a computer, stay in Photos, and the rest are deleted.

Play files as a slideshow. With Pro, choose Slideshow in the viewer menu. Each photo shows for 5 seconds, and each video plays to its end. Ready for iPhone Duo. On the outer display, the vault buttons move to the side strip. The inner display gets the same layout as iPad. Clear of the fold. When the phone is folded, the grid, the viewer and the pattern lock stay clear of the hinge. Open or close the phone. Opening or closing the phone keeps the vault unlocked and the viewer on the same photo. Faster imports. Photos and videos import faster, also while an iCloud backup runs. Smooth scrolling. The grid and the viewer stay smooth while files load, import or back up. No wait for large files. While a large file saves, other files and thumbnails still open. Thumbnails in the grid. An empty tile now loads its thumbnail again, and opening a photo that has none adds one. Trial details on iPad. In landscape, the subscribe button no longer covers the free trial status. Room for imports. A shared vault sync now stops before it fills your device, so imports keep working.

Import progress for videos. A long video shows each import step with a percentage until it is in your vault. Videos play as you swipe. A video starts on its own when you swipe to it and keeps playing during imports and backups. Seeking follows your finger. Drag the playback bar and the picture moves with it. Delete originals after import. After you add photos or files, Vaultaire can delete the originals for you. Deleted photos can come back. Photos keeps deleted originals in Recently Deleted for 30 days. Your choice every time. Tap Don't Ask Again to stop the question, and turn it back on in Settings. Vaults with missing data open. If some of a vault's data is missing from this device, the vault now opens and marks the files it cannot show. Keep what is left. Open a marked file to save what remains of it, or delete it as usual. No lock after a long import. The vault no longer locks right after a long import ends. Files open during an export. A large export no longer holds up other files and thumbnails. Arrow keys on iPad. With a keyboard, the arrow keys show the next or previous photo or video. Shared vault changes upload. If you change a shared vault while it is still uploading, your change now waits its turn instead of failing. Backups flag damaged files. If a backup finds a damaged file, it now stops and tells you instead of trying again and again. Drag to pick photos. When you add photos, drag your finger across them to pick many at once.

Choose an app icon. With Vaultaire Pro, pick Calculator, Printer or one of five other icons in Settings > App Icon. On iOS 18 and later, Shortcuts can also add a Home Screen tile with that icon and a name you choose. Every icon opens Vaultaire, which still asks for your pattern. Full screen with one tap. Tap a photo or video to hide the bars and fill the screen. Tap again to bring them back. New video controls. Videos have their own bar below the picture, with a scrubber, 10-second skips and a volume slider. Moving to a new iPhone. After a direct transfer, Vaultaire can open your vault with its iCloud backup, or delete the files it cannot open to free space. Write notes in your vault. Tap + and choose New Note. Notes are encrypted like your photos, and you can edit them any time. You can now rename any file from its menu or the viewer. Safer backups and restores. A damaged thumbnail no longer stops every backup, an older copy of a vault can no longer overwrite newer changes, and cleanup no longer deletes files during a restore. Backups wait after a failure. A backup that fails, such as when iCloud is full, now waits before it tries again. Shared vaults keep updating. A file you delete while a shared vault updates no longer stops the update. Thumbnails after a restore. Thumbnails no longer go blank after you restore a backup.

Faster backups. A backup sends more files at once on a fast network, and it no longer checks every waiting file again after each upload. Faster sync. Sync downloads several parts of a vault at once, retries a slow download instead of giving up, and skips the parts that did not change since the last sync. Faster shared vaults. A shared vault update copies less before it uploads, skips a check before each upload, and removes old parts in batches. A shared vault no longer uploads twice when you return to the app during an update. Less work for deleted files. A sync removes each deleted file in one pass. Thumbnails after sync. Photos synced into a new vault now show their thumbnails. Videos play the first time. Videos with a time in their name, such as ones saved from chat apps, now play on the first try. Less memory for large files. Opening a large file from an older vault now uses less memory. HDR videos keep their color. HDR videos keep their full color depth when Vaultaire makes them smaller.

Folders and custom order. Put files in folders and arrange them by hand; backup, sync and shared vaults keep the layout. Sort and filter for each vault. Each vault remembers its own sort order and file filter. Videos loop. A video plays again from its start as soon as it reaches its end, with no pause between plays. Videos start sooner. A video starts playing while Vaultaire decrypts the rest of it, instead of after the whole file. Vaults survive a locked iPhone. When your iPhone is locked, iOS can refuse Vaultaire access to a vault in the new storage format. Vaultaire now reports that the vault cannot be read right now instead of treating it as damaged, and the vault opens as usual once you unlock your iPhone. Faster recovery of an interrupted import. Files left behind by an import that was cut short are recovered with one save of the vault instead of one per file. Messages in your language. Error messages and folder alerts now appear in your language instead of English. Search clears after an import. When an import finishes, the vault search clears so the new files show. Shared vaults are harder to guess. Testing a guessed phrase against a new share's public record now takes a full key derivation, and new shares no longer carry an identifier of the vault they came from.

Your vaults move to a new storage format. The move starts on its own after you open a vault, builds the new format beside the old one, checks every file, and only then switches, while you keep viewing and importing. File names on your iPhone no longer show which vault a file belongs to. A vault that has moved cannot be opened by an older version of Vaultaire, so update Vaultaire on every device you sync. A file whose data can no longer be read is not moved, and Vaultaire tells you how many it removed. Shared vaults now open on another Apple ID. Importing a shared vault on a device signed in to a different Apple ID finishes instead of stopping, and a share the recipient has deleted or used up disappears from your list of shares. Videos play or say why they cannot. A video that cannot be played shows an error instead of a black screen, the viewer keeps the same file when you rotate your iPhone, and in landscape the video title bar hides after three seconds. Swiping now moves between photos and videos, and a video shows its thumbnail until it starts playing. You can see and free the space a vault uses. Vault settings show its size on this device, and Free Up Deleted Space returns the space still held by files you deleted. A vault deletion that was interrupted finishes the next time you unlock. A damaged vault loses less. A vault with one incomplete file still opens with every other file, and its iCloud backup still saves the rest. Repair tells you how many files it removes and clears the old copy afterwards, and when a vault's data is gone from this device, the recovery screen offers to delete that vault. Changing your pattern keeps every file readable. Photos import is more faithful. Vaultaire asks Photos for the current format, retries once when Photos cannot supply a file, skips conversion for many already-compressed videos, and shows how much of a file still downloading from iCloud has loaded. The duress vault is safer. Duress no longer removes the duress vault itself when an import is running or its data cannot be read, and a restore running in the background no longer brings back vaults that duress removed. What's New now appears once after each update. Also: corrected Hebrew and German wording, European Portuguese for Portugal, and stability fixes throughout Vaultaire.

Videos that never finished importing now finish. Three stages of a video import could wait on the system with no bound, so an import retried for hours and never settled. Each stage now ends when it stops making progress, while a long 4K video still downloading from iCloud keeps going for as long as it advances. Large files no longer cost memory in proportion to their size. Import, sharing, backup restore, and the upgrade of a vault made by an older version all read in chunks now, so a multi-gigabyte video no longer pushes Vaultaire out of memory part way through. A backup entry too large for its record is written correctly instead of failing. Unlocking no longer waits behind an import. Opening one vault while another was importing meant waiting for that import to finish, and a photo already listed in the grid could be reported as unreadable. An unlock now interrupts the import, the transcode and the download stop with it, and the interrupted import resumes afterwards. Encryption around backup and sync is strengthened. The local backup catalog and the sync record, which carry file names, sizes and dates, are now protected under a key derived from your backup key. A secure erase that cannot draw random bytes now stops and reports instead of quietly leaving old data in place. Vaults that will not open have a way back. Vaultaire shows a recovery screen instead of an error, offers Repair when a vault refuses to save, and recognizes a vault left stranded after you restore your iPhone from a backup. Encrypted backup and multi-device sync are safer. One device no longer removes backup files another device still needs, Vaultaire asks first when a sync would remove most of a vault, a file you deleted stays deleted instead of coming back at the next sync, two paired devices no longer send each other the same merge over and over, and a restore that would leave a file behind is rolled back instead of committed. Import is clearer. You see progress for each file, Vaultaire checks free space before it starts, an import stays in the vault you started it in, a picked folder is refused with a reason instead of silently, and an import stopped by the Free plan's limit says so and offers the upgrade instead of doing nothing. Photos open in the order and orientation you expect, that order survives a sync, the grid fills in as files arrive, and a thumbnail that cannot be read is rebuilt instead of shown broken. Deleting a vault now returns its storage. A full device, a locked device, a failed export, a failed iCloud download and an interrupted camera capture each explain themselves in your language. Also: sharing retries a dropped connection instead of failing, more reliable unlocking, missing translations added, and stability fixes throughout Vaultaire.

Restoring an encrypted backup on a second device now brings your files back. A restore that finished without showing anything is fixed. Vaultaire Pro plans now use one consistent layout on iPad, in every language. Changing your pattern also works when iCloud is unavailable, and your backup updates on its own later. This update explains import and storage problems more clearly, makes unlocking more reliable, and includes stability fixes throughout Vaultaire.

Photos that fail to load now wait for a manual retry. Photos and document previews now rotate with your phone. Tap Rotate clockwise to turn the preview 90 degrees. Manual rotation lasts for the viewing session and does not change the original file. Encrypted iCloud backups now recover safely after interruptions, keep upload activity visible, and explain account, storage, and iCloud failures more clearly. Unchanged vaults no longer create duplicate backups. Includes the latest app translations and a fix for older vault items that could not be deleted or moved when damaged data was present. Import failures are now reported more clearly. Share errors anonymously is now on by default in Settings and can be turned off.
