Born from 10 years of screen recording.
Over the last decade, I recorded hundreds of hours of IT tutorials and product demos. I kept running into the same problems again and
again:
Need to zoom into a specific part of the screen? That usually had to be done later in the video editor. macOS had built-in zoom, but the
UX felt unnatural, and many screen recording apps could not capture it properly.
Need to draw on screen while explaining? That often required running a separate drawing app during recording.
Need to guide attention around the cursor? It was surprisingly hard to find one tool that handled zoom, focus, and drawing well in real
time.
More recently, some apps started adding automatic zoom during editing. But automatic zoom often zooms into the wrong place, which creates
even more cleanup work afterward.
After dealing with this for years, I built TuringShot.
TuringShot lets zoom, focus, magnifier lens, drawing, and memo all happen live on screen with simple shortcuts. What you see is exactly
what gets recorded. No post-production zoom. No separate drawing tool. No fixing unwanted auto-zooms. The editing step becomes much
smaller.
