Anyone who takes public transport in the Netherlands knows the problem: you miss your stop because you fell asleep, got distracted by your phone, or simply don't know the route. The result? Extra travel time and frustration. AlertNL was built to solve this.
How does it work?
Search for your destination — every station, stop, and platform in the Netherlands is available. Set an alarm zone around your destination. When you enter that zone, the alarm goes off. You don't need to enter lines or departure times. The alarm works even when your screen is locked or you're using other apps. Take a nap, read a book, or scroll through your phone — AlertNL wakes you at the right moment.
Personalise your alarm
Choose your own alarm sound, including songs from your music library. Set the alarm distance to your preference so you have enough time to grab your things and stand up before your stop is reached. Gentle signal or loud alarm — the choice is yours.
SOS feature
Add emergency contacts. With two taps, an SMS is sent to your emergency contacts with your GPS location and a pre-set message.
This works without an internet connection — purely SMS-based. Useful when you feel unsafe or find yourself in an emergency.
All public transport stops in the Netherlands are available via official GTFS data. Whether you travel with NS, Arriva, GVB, HTM, RET, or any other operator — your destination is included.
