[SYS] PATCH 8.0.6 // CLOCK.SYNC R.A.D. Cortex is upgraded to 6.11. The temperature on Now, which used to hold the last reading it downloaded until the next refresh, now keeps up with the clock in between. And fall comes to the Daily scene. - R.A.D. Cortex 6.11: the Now temperature keeps up with the clock between refreshes, instead of holding the last downloaded reading - Tested against 31 weather stations worldwide: the average miss dropped from 2.8°F to 1.9°F (1.6°C to 1.0°C), and misses of 5°F or more fell from 18% to 6%. No extra downloads, and the same upgrade runs on radweather.cloud - The R.A.D. Cortex release history opens on the newest release, with older ones tucked away - Lifetime is easier to find, with its own tab, and Lifetime owners now see LIFETIME throughout the app - Fall arrives in the Daily scene: a tree that turns with your local weather, pumpkins, and falling leaves - Wind reads where it's coming from: the compass marks the source, and the compact wind card gets an arrow - The rain chart's model range is a thin whisker, so the R.A.D. Cortex bars stay readable - iPad: small cards now sit beside the next card instead of leaving a gap - LIVE reads the same on every screen, and the LOCAL clock only appears for places in a different time zone - A cleaner R.A.D. Cloud page, with your backup status and Sync Now at the top Visit www.radweather.app for features, updates, community stuff, and whatever else we accidentally make next. Stay R.A.D.

[SYS] PATCH 8.0.5 // NEW.VOICES RAD Weather now speaks Italian and Brazilian Portuguese. The whole app, from the briefing to the widgets to the Watch, not just the menus. It also answers Siri. Ask whether you need an umbrella, what tonight's sky looks like or when the tide turns, or have it roast your weather. On iPhone, and on Apple Watch even when your phone is out of reach. And four cards got their freedom. Moisture, UV, Pressure and Visibility are separate cards now, each in three sizes, and they go wherever you put them. The rest is the patch list. Mostly things that sounded surer than they had any right to. - Italian and Brazilian Portuguese, everywhere in the app - Siri answers about rain, the forecast, tomorrow, tonight's sky, the moon and the tides, and roasts your weather on request - Siri works on Apple Watch, even with your phone out of range - Moisture, UV, Pressure and Visibility are four cards now, each small, medium or large. Tap the pixel meter in edit mode to change size - Small Visibility shows the next 12 hours, with the fog band marked and the lowest point named - On iPad in landscape and on Mac, small cards line up four across - Star Watcher says when the forecasts disagree about tonight's sky, instead of sounding sure - UNCERTAIN on the Confidence card now says why - Confidence quips follow the Brutality slider as you move it, in every language - Forecast Sources names where pollen, air quality, tide and sky data come from - Tides load a full week and stay fresh longer - The 16-bit trees bend in the wind instead of sliding across the ground - A bolder briefing masthead - Pressure no longer shows a stand-in value at stations that do not report one - Tides no longer state a direction and a percentage they cannot actually know - When a tide forecast runs out, it names the station, and a brief outage no longer hides tides for hours - The Watch tide card no longer shows the next high or low as the current level - Tide Today and Tomorrow use the right time zone - The dew point no longer reads 0° for a moment when the app opens - Swiping along the Hourly timeline no longer triggers a refresh - Siri answers in the temperature unit you chose - The Confidence sheet and briefing no longer run wider than the screen - Page titles show in the right color Star Watcher, tides, the Moisture, UV, Pressure and Visibility cards, and Siri's briefing, tonight, tide and roast answers are included with RAD Ultra, MultiPass and Lifetime. Visit www.radweather.app for features, updates, community stuff, and whatever else we accidentally make next. Stay R.A.D.

[SYS] PATCH 8.0.4 // NIGHT.WATCH Star Watcher is a new card for anyone who looks up. It answers one question, for the way you actually observe: is tonight worth going outside for, and when. The whole night sits in one chart, the good stretch is bracketed, and you can drag across any hour to read what is going on. When it cannot say, it says so instead of guessing. Precipitation opens into a full page now. The next hour minute by minute, every hour carrying both the answer and how far apart the models still are, how much actually lands, and the week. All of it was already in the app. None of it had ever been drawn. The rest of 8.0.4 is the patch list. Things that were wrong, including a Cloud Cover card whose next twelve hours could start seven hours ago. - Star Watcher: whether tonight is worth going outside for, which hours, and what is in the way. Add it from the card picker - The whole night in one chart, with the best window marked and every hour readable by dragging across it - It answers for the way you observe, so a full moon can block deep sky and leave the planets untouched - Precipitation opens into a full page: the next hour minute by minute, the models' range hour by hour, how much lands and when, and the week - The rain chart draws two layers with a key, what R.A.D. Cortex settled on and how far apart the models still are, and you can drag across it for any hour - A dust and haze outlook on Sky Clarity and Air Quality, against the WHO guideline, with each day's peak and the hour it lands - Cloud Cover says which deck the cloud is in, low, mid or high, so an arriving front reads as one - Cloud Cover can be collapsed to a compact size, like the cards beside it - Smoke and dust readings carry their units and how they compare to the WHO guideline - Moonrise and moonset are checked against an independent ephemeris, and land within half a minute - Calima is only called calima when there is dust at the surface, not just haze in the air overhead - A day the sun never sets is named as one, instead of being reported as an overcast sky - Pull down to refresh on Hourly and Daily, the same as Now - The daily columns say they can be tapped - Football copy reads a real schedule instead of guessing from the month, and speaks on a snowy day rather than only a nice one - A smaller download, with every LED dot in the icons kept - The Details page is quicker, because it stopped drawing every card you cannot see - Cloud Cover's next twelve hours no longer starts up to seven hours in the past - Sky Clarity names the dust on a good night, not only on nights nobody was going out anyway - The dust curve draws a gap where the forecast ends, instead of drawing it as clean air - The Smoke card stops calling clean ground air dangerous while reporting a clean number - Letting go of a chart no longer opens the card underneath it - The hourly chart no longer swallows the scroll when you drag across it - The upgrade screen names what you reached for, instead of saying nothing about it - Leave a Review opens the App Store instead of doing nothing - The cloud caption had darker and brighter the wrong way round, in English and all four translations - Savage and Unhinged stop falling back to free lines Star Watcher, the precipitation page, Sky Clarity, Air Quality, Cloud Cover, Smoke, and the Savage and Unhinged voices are included with RAD Ultra, MultiPass and Lifetime. Visit www.radweather.app for features, updates, community stuff, and whatever else we accidentally make next. Stay R.A.D.

[SYS] PATCH 8.0.3 // PIXEL.PASS Trailhead is a new theme built around the ground you are standing on, in daylight and after dark. And every weather scene can now be drawn a second way, in pixel art, with the choice yours rather than the theme's. It runs on the card, in your widgets and on Live Activities. The rest of 8.0.3 is the patch list. Things that were wrong, including a card that was judging tonight's sky using a reading it took at noon. - Trailhead: a new theme whose hero is the terrain you are actually standing on, in daylight and after dark - A second art style for every weather scene, on the card, in widgets and on Live Activities - Pixel rain, snow and lightning behind the whole app, in any theme - Two Trailhead app icons, in the Beyond collection - ALTITUDE: what the air is doing above you, with the freezing level moving through the day - OUTPOST: how long you can be out, the sun's real arc, and the readings that change the answer - Hide any card you do not want, on both screens, and bring it back from the same place - The hourly list says where midnight is, and which day the later rows belong to - The temperature readout is a real pixel face, legible down to widget size - Widgets can follow the app's theme, and have the second art style too - Apple Watch gets the Altitude and Outpost cards, and can finally pick Trailhead - Sky Clarity stopped judging tonight with a reading taken at noon, and now names what is actually holding the sky back - The visibility card says nothing rather than claiming a distance nobody measured - Buying Lifetime is never blocked by the membership you already have, and you are warned before it leaves a subscription running - Pinning a card you had hidden no longer makes it vanish from both screens - Switching art style takes effect immediately instead of after a restart - Corrected water names cover the renamed ones on the map, at every zoom where they print - radweather.cloud: the R.A.D. Cortex codex, and a weather desk that says where each story came from Trailhead, the second art style, pixel weather, Altitude, Outpost and customising your cards are all included with RAD Ultra, MultiPass and Lifetime. Visit www.radweather.app for features, updates, community stuff, and whatever else we accidentally make next. Stay R.A.D.

[SYS] PATCH 8.0.2 // TRUTH.PASS Radar opens without the stall. The freeze while frames loaded is gone, and the map stays smooth while they come in. Air quality now shows the next 24 hours and when the air turns, instead of one number with no shape. radweather.cloud is a completely new site. Interactive cards, weather toys, the arcade, and a fresh weather fact every day. The rest is an accuracy pass. What the app was guessing, it now measures. And where it cannot measure, it finally says so instead of filling the gap with something that looks like an answer. - Radar loads without freezing the app - Air quality shows the next 24 hours, and when it turns - radweather.cloud: a brand new site, with corrected pressure, visibility and snow chances - Now in Russian and Ukrainian, alongside English, German and Spanish - Visibility is a real distance again, everywhere, and fog warnings fire at the right one - Pollen stops reporting all clear where nobody ever measured. Whole regions were being told their season was over during its peak - Smoke says nothing rather than all clear when the satellite that watches for it cannot be reached - Smoke over the area no longer reads as bad air when the air at ground level is fine - Sky Clarity waits for real readings instead of scoring a missing one as a perfect night - A widget set to a saved city shows no data rather than another city's forecast - Widgets, the Watch and the cards drop air, pollen, smoke, tide and sky readings that belong to a city you moved away from - Canada: forecast days follow that city's own clock, not the one in your pocket - Canada: lows, humidity and wind are no longer filled in with guesses, and rain chances stop pinning to 100% - Apple Watch keeps up with your phone in minutes, not an hour - Tides show the right time for places you are not standing in - The wind compass shows nothing rather than guessing north - Pollen now covers Japan, Australia and the rest of the world - Times follow your 12 or 24 hour setting across the app Visit www.radweather.app for features, updates, community stuff, and whatever else we accidentally make next. Stay R.A.D.

[SYS] PATCH 8.0.1 // TUNE.UP 8.0.1 is a tune-up on top of RAD 8. Mostly radar, plus the things you flagged. - Radar is faster and much lighter. Atlas opens quicker, and coming back to it is instant instead of replaying the whole loading sweep - Radar now draws rain that its own coverage edges were hiding. Where a radar cannot actually see, the map stops painting clear sky over real weather - A new radar loading animation - The wind layer shows the hour you are actually in, not one several hours ahead - Severe alerts hold on when a source drops out instead of vanishing, and your widgets pick up a change right away - Alerts follow you now. Driving across town could make the app think you were reading about another city, and while it thought that, your phone could stay quiet through a warning your widget and Watch were already showing - The second severe warning of an evening no longer goes silent, two live warnings no longer collapse into one, and a practice bulletin can no longer hide a real one - Japan and France: two of the forecast models we blend were reporting a 0% chance of rain every hour. Fixed, and checked against real weather station records - Air quality in Europe now reads one number on one scale, everywhere on the screen - The moisture card reads dew point, so the comfort call is more accurate - Storm risk names the day when the risk is on a later one - The app no longer holds a gigabyte of radar while it sits in the background, so iOS is far less likely to close it behind you - Your app icon pick sticks again - Theme fixes for Field Notes and the Now screen, plus polish and fixes across the app Visit www.radweather.app for features, updates, community stuff, and whatever else we accidentally make next. Stay R.A.D.

When rain is a chance and not a downpour it says so, and it shows the real next hour of radar when there is one - The widget, the app and your Watch agree on when rain starts and stops - Severe alerts are more trustworthy. Test bulletins from the weather service no longer show up as real warnings, and alert text starts with the actual warning instead of a wall of zone codes - Atlas uses noticeably less memory, so it stays smooth after you have been spinning the globe - Replay the intro anytime from Settings - Polish and fixes across the whole app Visit www.radweather.app for features, updates, community stuff, and whatever else we accidentally make next.
