Sideby isn’t a social network. There are plenty of places online where you have to share, react, be visible, and somehow keep up. In some moments, that’s simply too much.
Sometimes what’s missing isn’t conversation — it’s the feeling that someone else is there at the same time. Like watching a film with others: you don’t have to say anything, and you’re still not alone.
That’s exactly where Sideby comes in. No profiles, no chat, no likes — no pressure. Instead, you start an anonymous 30‑minute presence. During that time, you can see that other people are here too — right now. No expectations. No need to talk.
After 30 minutes, the moment ends — and everything is deleted. No feed, no history, no trace. Just this one shared moment.
Sideby is for times when you don’t have words, or don’t have the energy to engage, but also don’t want to feel completely alone. You stay with yourself — and still feel a small sense of connection.
Many people describe it as a relief: not being watched, but simply being noticed. Not being judged, but being left in peace — and still not alone.
Sideby isn’t meant to replace real-life connection. It’s a gentle addition for moments when closeness doesn’t come from words, but from being there at the same time. Sometimes, that’s enough.
