Biddie
Local auctions Buy & sell fast
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Everything starts at $1 and runs 24 hours. List it, let the neighbors bid, and hand it over in person — Biddie never touches the money.
Buy and sell with the neighbors you already trust.
Biddie turns your neighborhood into its own little auction house. List something you no longer
need, let neighbors bid on it, and hand it over in person — no strangers, no shipping, no fees.
HOW IT WORKS
Every auction starts at $1 and runs for exactly 24 hours. You don't set prices or pick end
times — bidders take it from there, and the highest bid when the clock runs out wins. Short,
simple, and the same for everyone.
YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, YOUR MARKET
Every neighborhood is its own private marketplace. Browse ones near you and request to join,
enter a join code a neighbor shared, or start your own — draw its boundary, set its guidelines,
and invite the street. Owners and admins review who joins, so every listing you see comes from
a real neighbor.
LIST IT IN SECONDS
Photos, an optional 30-second video, a title, a category — and the pickup window you're
committing to hand it over in. That's the whole listing. It goes live to your neighborhood
instantly.
BID AND WATCH
Bid in whole dollars and get told the second you're outbid. Press and hold any listing to watch
it, and Biddie reminds you before it ends. Follow sellers whose listings you like and get a
heads-up whenever they post.
WIN AND MEET UP
The moment an auction ends, Biddie opens a private chat between buyer and seller. Arrange
payment however suits you both — cash, Venmo, Zelle — Biddie never takes or holds money. Meet
inside the seller's pickup window, confirm the handoff in the chat, and rate each other. Plans
change? Propose a new time right in the chat. And if a sale goes sideways, Biddie steps in to
help both sides sort it out.
PROFILES THAT MEAN SOMETHING
Every member's profile shows their real record: items listed, items actually sold, their rating
from required post-sale reviews, and how quickly they usually reply — worked out from real
conversations, not self-reported.
TOOLS FOR NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS
Announcements, join-request review, roles, community guidelines, a full report center for
handling disputes and issues, and neighborhood analytics that show when your market is busiest.
Activity logs keep moderation transparent.
SAFE BY DESIGN
Phone-number verification for every account. Your handle — never your real name — appears on
listings, bids, and chats. Listings are screened, members can report and block, and moderators
are real neighbors accountable to the community. Lock the app behind Face ID when you step away.
NEW HERE?
A 20-second tour shows you how Biddie works, a short checklist helps you get set up, and
searchable help is built in. You'll know your way around in minutes.
BIDDIE PREMIUM
An optional subscription that adds the extras: auctions on your Home Screen, Lock Screen,
StandBy and Control Center with live countdowns, a Live Activity that follows the auction
you're bidding on, neighborhood analytics, custom app icons, and animated themes. An ad-free
tier is also available on its own.
Biddie is currently only available in the United States.

more WIDGETS AND THE LOCK SCREEN
• Put an auction on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, StandBy or Control Center and watch the countdown tick in real time.
• A Live Activity follows the auction you're bidding on — get outbid and the price turns red.
• Stop watching an auction straight from the widget.
FOLLOW A NEIGHBOR
• Follow someone whose listings you like and get told when they post. New followers can be followed back, and both notices have their own switch in Settings.
HOW YOU DEAL
• Say how you prefer to hand an item over and how you like to be paid. It shows on your listings, so buyers know what to expect before they bid. Biddie never takes or holds payment.
THE PROFILE, REBUILT
• A stat strip up top: listed, sold, rating, followers. "Sold" now means sold — it used to count every ended listing.
• "Usually replies in…" is worked out from real conversations.
WHEN A PICKUP RUNS LATE
• Biddie Team & Neighborhood Admins steps into the chat to help both sides sort it out.
• If a buyer goes quiet, you can let Biddie offer the item to the next bidder — turn it on in Pickup & Payment. Leaving a handoff unfinished pauses new activity until it's resolved.
MESSAGES AND RATINGS
• Edit a message for two minutes after sending. It's marked "edited" and either of you can see the original.
• Picking up several items from one person asks you to rate them once, not once per item.
NEW HERE?
• A 20-second "How Biddie works" tour and a short setup checklist help you get going — they show once and get out of the way.
FIXES
• Joining a neighborhood with an invite code works. It was silently doing nothing on every previous release.
• Chats now show handles, never real names.
• If you'd already given us your email, Biddie stops asking for it and offers to resend the confirmation instead.
• A shared auction link opens for someone who isn't a member yet.
• Your last-seen time no longer shows to people you'd hidden your online status from.
FOR OWNERS AND MODERATORS
• Reviews ask both sides the same question, answered without seeing each other's answer.
• Actions the server would refuse are no longer offered, so Strike, Suspend and Ban stop failing after you tap them.
1.4.4 6d ago
SHOW IT, DON'T JUST PHOTOGRAPH IT
• Add a 30-second video to a listing — record it in the app or pick one from your library. It plays right on the listing card as you scroll, and full screen in the gallery.
• Clips are cached as you browse, so they start immediately instead of buffering.
SAY WHEN YOU CAN HAND IT OVER
• Every new listing now includes a pickup window — same day, within 24 hours, a few days, a week. Buyers know before they bid.
• Overdue reminders respect it. A seller who said "within a week" is no longer chased on day five.
• Running late? Either side can propose a new pickup time, and the other accepts or declines. An agreed extension moves the reminder with it, so nobody is escalated over a handoff you both already rescheduled.
RELIST WITHOUT RETYPING - Thanks for the great idea Elias!
• An unsold listing can be posted again from its own page. Your photos, video, description and details all come with it — set the price and the length and it's live.
• Media that's already uploaded is automatically included.
FOLLOW A SELLER
• Follow someone whose listings you like, and their new ones reach you even when your filters would otherwise hide them.
• Followed sellers get their own category in notification settings, so you can keep those and mute the rest.
CHANGED YOUR NUMBER?
• New on the sign-in screen: "Changed your number? Recover your account." It moves your existing account to your new number — listings, ratings, messages, neighborhood and standing all come with you, instead of starting over.
• We text the new number to confirm it's yours, then email the address on your account before anything moves.
• Backing out part-way no longer leaves the new number claimed by the abandoned attempt, so you can start over as many times as you need.
RATINGS AT THE RIGHT MOMENT
• You're asked to rate as part of the handoff — buyers when they mark an item picked up, sellers when they confirm it — instead of being chased for it days later.
• Ratings show the score without the count, and read N/A when someone has none yet.
GIFTS YOU CAN ACTUALLY OPEN
• Rewards and gifts come with a Redeem button that takes you straight there with the code filled in.
• Boost credits sent to you now announce themselves instead of just appearing in your balance.
WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH A SALE
• If your neighborhood team asks both people the same question, tapping the notification takes you to it. Your answer stays private until the other person has answered too.
• Anywhere a sale is under review you now see what actually happened — who marked it picked up, who confirmed, when, and who still owes a rating.
FOR NEIGHBORHOOD OWNERS, ADMINS AND MODERATORS
• The Report Center is one queue, oldest-waiting first, with one row layout instead of four.
• Claim a case before working it, and see who's already handling something.
• Decisions are asked one question at a time, naming the consequence before anything is recorded.
• You can now warn a reported neighbor — before this the only options were nothing or a full strike.
• Reporters can attach photo evidence, and it shows on every moderation screen.
• Moderators can reach the Report Center now, and decide the cases they claim.
FIXES
• Removing a neighbor who still has an unfinished sale now says they'll leave once it settles, instead of reporting success and leaving them in the list.
• Notifications about a listing clear when that listing is gone, instead of opening onto nothing.
• Listing photos flagged for review are blurred with a note that the Biddie team is looking at them, rather than vanishing unexplained.
• Message and notification rows no longer lose their timestamp when the text runs long.
• Fixed the check that tells you an update is required — on builds released twice in one day it quietly did nothing.
1.4.3 Aug 17
Bug fixes and improvements
1.4.2 Aug 11
DRAW YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
• Neighborhood owners can now draw their neighborhood's real outline on a map instead of settling for a circle. Trace it with your finger, then tap to refine individual points.
• Because the outline is the real shape, join requests are now judged against it — people inside are let in and people outside aren't, even where a circle would have got it wrong.
• Owners can redraw an existing boundary later, and see exactly who that change affects before saving it.
MORE CATEGORIES
• 15 new listing categories, including Food, Beauty, Pets, Plants, Bikes and Automotive — 28 in total. Things that never quite fit anywhere now have a home.
MAKE IT YOURS
• Pick an Accent Color for the app in Settings › Personalization. It applies everywhere, immediately, with no restart.
PREMIUM NOW EARNS BOOST CREDITS
• Biddie Premium now includes 4 Boost Credits when you subscribe and 4 more every month, added automatically. Spend them to pin a listing to the top of your neighborhood's feed.
NOTIFICATIONS
• Every event has its own sound now, so you can tell what happened without looking — winning, selling, a new bid, and a listing ending no longer all sound alike.
• Repeat bid alerts for the same listing collapse into one instead of stacking up, and they clear once the item sells.
• Neighborhood announcements now appear in your notifications list, not only as a banner you might miss — and scheduled announcements are delivered at the time they were scheduled for.
• Reminders to rate a completed sale now reach everyone. Previously most were never sent.
• Tapping a notification now takes you to the thing it's about, and marks it read when you get there.
• Fixed notifications quietly switching themselves off for good after you visited iOS notification settings.
• In-app banners now show the listing or the person they're about.
EMAIL
• Adding an email now holds the address until you click the confirmation link, so a typo never lands on your account.
• Biddie now asks you to confirm an email address before you keep bidding and posting. You get five days' notice, and the reminder tells you exactly how long is left.
SPEED
• Faster launch — image cleanup no longer runs on the main thread.
• Approving or declining a join request is now close to instant, and "Decline All" works.
• A seller's photo and rating now appear as soon as you open a listing, instead of a second later.
• Requesting your data export no longer freezes the app while it's prepared, and it now downloads as a real ZIP archive.
• Smoother scrolling in the listings feed.
FIXES
• Fixed ordinary listings being refused when you tried to post them.
• Fixed the "have you moved out?" address check ignoring your neighborhood's actual boundary.
• Fixed a crash when entering a very large bid.
• Fixed App Lock being skipped after the app was closed in the background, and dismissed by rotating the screen.
• Fixed being locked out of the app when accepting updated terms with no connection.
• Fixed signing out clearing your saved sign-in details.
• Fixed posting a listing sometimes creating two copies of it. Posting now shows real progress instead of appearing to stall, so a listing that went through no longer looks like one that failed.
• Countdown timers on listings are readable over any photo.
• Swiping a photo away now follows your finger.
• A boosted listing keeps the time it paid for if the listing is held for review.
• Permanently suspended accounts are enforced correctly.
1.4.1 Aug 8
Boost Credits
• Buy Boost Credits and spend them to feature one of your own listings. A boosted listing is pinned to a Boosted section at the top of your neighborhood's feed, so more neighbors see it.
• Boost as you post, or boost a listing that's already live from its page.
• A boost costs 1 to 5 credits depending on how busy your neighborhood is. You always see the exact cost, and how much time the listing has left, before you confirm.
• The boost runs until your listing ends. Credits never expire, and your Boost Credits screen keeps a history of every credit earned and spent.
Neighborhood Analytics (Premium)
• The best days and times to post, an hour-by-hour activity curve, how each category performs, and what's hot right now. Not on Premium? Tap through for a labeled sample.
Tips, right where you need them
• One-time coach marks and tap-to-explain "?" buttons across listings, chat, profile, and analytics — switch them off or reset them in Profile.
Email, and a weekly digest
• Your account now needs a confirmed email address — it's how we reach you about your listings and your account. Add and confirm it during sign-up or from your profile, and choose which emails you get.
• New Sunday digest: what was listed, sold, and bid on this week, what's ending soon, and what's on your watchlist.
• If your email address is ever changed, that alert now includes a one-tap way to undo it and lock the account down.
Safer listings
• Clearly prohibited items are stopped before they post, and borderline wording gets a heads-up you can revise — with far fewer false alarms.
• Before a listing goes up you confirm it's accurate and follows the guidelines — one tick, right after the safety check.
Handoffs that actually finish
• If you owe someone the next step — confirming a pickup, or leaving a rating — you're asked at launch, nudged daily until it's done, and a transaction that's gone quiet for two weeks is closed out for you.
Ambassador rewards, reworked
• Bronze at 10 referrals pays 5 Boost Credits, Silver at 25 adds 2 months of Premium, Gold at 100 a full year. Tiers are granted automatically, and an expired tier can be re-earned now.
Notifications
• Bid alerts collapse: only the newest "you've been outbid" for a listing stays, so a busy auction can't bury everything else. There's a new Boosted Listings category, and old alerts clear themselves once they no longer apply.
Your subscription, and getting it back
• If your subscription is registered to a different Biddie account, Biddie now tells you so instead of quietly showing you the free tier — and offers a way to sort it out.
• Changed your phone number and lost access to your old account? You can now ask us to move your subscription and Boost Credits across to the account you use today. We confirm it by email with both accounts before anything moves, and a person reviews every request.
Also
• Announcements from Biddie now appear at the top of your listings, and sign-up fits the screen without scrolling.
• Fixes: tapping a message notification now opens that conversation — even if you were already reading a different one. Every photo you pick in a chat sends, screens that needed two taps of Back, clearer photo-upload errors, listing status in your archive, and share links that preview properly.

1.4.0 Aug 3
A safer, more private, and more reliable Biddie.
Messaging stays in your neighborhood
• Conversations are now scoped to the neighborhood you're in. If a neighbor leaves — or you move — that chat leaves your Messages list, and neither of you can message the other.
• When someone leaves, is removed, or is banned, the conversation is deleted for both sides. Nothing lingers.
• The Messages badge now counts only chats you can actually open — no more badge that won't clear.
A quick check at sign-up
• New accounts now include a fast photo step that confirms a real person is signing up. It's checked entirely on your device — no face data is stored, uploaded, or shared. A small step that helps keep Biddie real neighbors.
Nev Nav Bar
• Now, navigation bar is less intrusive and hides on scroll. Tap or scroll to watch it open again. It works the same as the previous nav bar just designed to fit more data on screen.
Notifications that make sense
• You'll no longer get notified about your own activity — posting your own listing won't ping your phone.
• More reliable delivery across the board, plus a friendly reminder if notifications are switched off so you don't miss a bid or a message.
Chat, rebuilt
• Redesigned header that puts your conversation front and center.
• Buyer-first handoff: the buyer confirms pickup, then the seller confirms in return.
• Cleaner message rows with clearer read state and better image and auction cards.
Tools for owners and admins
• Overdue transactions get their own Report Center section, with a detail view of both parties, the auction, and the full chat.
• Delete an overdue auction without issuing a strike — for when a handoff simply never happened and no one is to blame. Suspend and strike remain separate, deliberate actions.
• Deleting an auction now auto-closes any open report about it, so the neighborhood alert dot clears too.
Reporting
• One unified engine — a report filed from a message, a profile, or an auction is handled and tracked the same way.
• You now get notified when a report you filed is resolved, along with the outcome. My Reports shows the status of everything you've submitted.
Add an email to your account
• Add and confirm an email during onboarding or later from your profile — handy for account recovery and receipts.
Fixes
• Sign-up is faster and more reliable — fixed cases where creating your profile could stall or fail.
• Fixed the winner's name showing blank on some ended auctions.
• Fixed repeated "overdue" notifications for the same transaction.
• Fixed a crash during phone verification.
• Deleting an auction now reliably removes it, even after it has received a bid.

1.3.1 Jul 22
Activity Log — Complete Redesign
- Tapping any activity log entry now opens a full detail view instead of a small card. The detail view shows a timeline-style layout with the event icon, full timestamp, and a narrative description of what happened.
- People involved in an action — the admin who acted and the member who was affected — now appear as profile rows with their photo, ambassador crown if applicable, and role. Tapping a profile row opens their full profile.
- System-triggered actions (like an automatic suspension expiring) now show a gear icon instead of a person, so it's clear the action was automated.
- Auction log entries now show the full auction card — photo, title, status — so you can tap through to the listing directly from the log.
- Announcement log entries now show the announcement card with banner image and preview, tappable to open the full announcement.
- Report log entries now show the report details inline — reason, reporter, current status, and any resolution — so admins can review context without leaving the log.
- The Undo and Get Help buttons now appear inside the scrollable view rather than pinned above the tab bar.
Announcements in the Activity Log
- Creating, editing, pinning, and deleting a neighborhood announcement are now tracked as activity log entries, so admins always have a full audit trail of announcement changes.
"Neighbor View" on Your Profile
- Tap the new profile icon in the top-right corner of your Profile tab to see exactly what your neighbors see when they view your profile. A blue banner makes it clear you're in preview mode.
Bid Timeline for Ended Auctions
- Ended auctions now show a full bid timeline with every bid, sorted from highest to lowest. The winning bid is highlighted in green. Bidder names are tappable.
Referral Links
- The join code on your neighborhood card is now tap-to-copy.
Push Notifications
- Admins now receive push notifications for every moderation action — suspensions, strikes, warnings, role changes, dispute resolutions, and more — not just in-app alerts.
- Rating reminders: if a transaction is confirmed but neither party has rated yet after 20 hours, both the buyer and seller receive a reminder.
- Rating prompts are sent immediately when a transaction is confirmed so neither party forgets.
Improvements
- Activity log descriptions now use display names (usernames) instead of first and last name, consistent with how names appear everywhere else in the app.
- Auction log entries use more natural language instead of generic action labels.
- The referral step in onboarding now matches the design of the other steps.
- Declined join request notifications now show a styled detail view explaining the reason, with a prompt to find another neighborhood.
- Leaving a neighborhood now transitions instantly with no delay and prevents any activity (bids, messages) during the brief reload.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a case where the activity log could display entries out of order when an approval and a join happened within the same second.
1.2.0 May 20
NEW! - Community Announcements
- Neighborhood announcements have moved from their own tab into the Messages screen. Tap the megaphone button in the top-left corner to open your neighborhood's announcement feed — one less tab, same content.
- A red dot now appears on the Messages tab and on the megaphone button whenever there's an unread announcement. Opening the announcement feed clears the dot and marks all announcement notifications as read.
- Push notifications for announcements now show your neighborhood's name instead of the admin's name, so it's immediately clear which neighborhood posted.
Ambassador Program
- Ambassador crown badge now appears on a member's profile image everywhere it's shown throughout the app — the message inbox, chat header, profile view, and neighborhood member lists.
- The Ambassador Program card in your profile now has an animated gradient border so it's easy to find.
Improvements
- The Creator Agreement's scroll-to-unlock now works correctly — the confirm button activates as soon as you reach the bottom, even when opened in a sheet.
- Legal policy rows (Privacy Policy, Terms of Use) now show a cleaner read/unread indicator and display the policy version and last-updated date in a pill badge.
Accessibility
- Text throughout Biddie now scales with your iOS text size preference. If you use a larger or smaller text size in Accessibility settings, all content in Biddie — auction titles, prices, timestamps, messages, neighborhood details, and more — adjusts proportionally.
- Animations now respect the Reduce Motion setting. When Reduce Motion is on in iOS Accessibility settings, transitions and animations happen instantly instead of playing.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the new bid sound — sellers now hear a sound when a bid comes in on their auction while viewing the listing.
- Fixed the auction sold sound — sellers now hear the cash register sound when they receive an auction sold notification.
1.1.3 May 18
Sharing Auctions
- You can now share any auction directly from the listing. Tapping the share button generates a link that opens the auction in the app for anyone who has Biddie installed.
Improvements
- Shake your phone anywhere in the app to quickly open the support and feedback screen.
- Onboarding now scrolls gracefully at larger text sizes so the Continue button is always reachable.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where selecting multiple pickup auctions could lock up the app and cause the multi-pickup banner to stack or get stuck.
- Fixed a listener leak that could cause archived auctions to remain stuck on-screen after being resolved.

1.1.2 May 15
**Ambassador Program**
- Introduced the Biddie Ambassador Program — grow your neighborhood and earn tiered rewards. Bronze at 10 members, Silver at 25, Gold at 100. Rewards include free Premium promo codes, an ambassador crown badge, and your name shown in your neighborhood. Gold ambassadors are also listed by name in the app's About section.
- The Ambassador Program card in your profile now has an animated gradient border so it's easy to find.
**Improvements**
- Neighborhood browsing redesigned — each neighborhood now appears as its own card with a photo, glass styling, and a member count badge. Cleaner and easier to scan. Neighborhood photos in the list are now larger.
- Added a "Can't find your neighborhood? Create one" link at the bottom of the neighborhood list so it's always easy to start your own.
- The Neighborhood Creator Agreement has been redesigned to match the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use — it now includes a Table of Contents, formatted sections, and proper typeset layout. You must scroll through the full agreement before confirming.
- Member requests now show a loading indicator when approving or declining, and clear admin notifications automatically when a request is resolved.
- Approve All / Decline All buttons added to the member requests list when multiple requests are pending.
- Join request messaging cleaned up — conversations with admins are removed when a request is cancelled or declined.
- Edit Role redesigned with updated animations, Liquid Glass styling, and a toast-based loading indicator that matches the rest of the app.
- Activity log now shows all event types correctly, including member bans, suspensions, role requests, and report actions that were previously missing.
- Neighborhood view loads significantly faster — member user data is now fetched in a single batch query instead of individually.
- Report screen icon corrected for Inappropriate Behavior.
- Messages to a neighborhood admin now send reliably on the first attempt.
- Transaction rating sheet is now more compact and role-aware — sellers no longer see irrelevant categories like "As Described" or tags like "Item as Described" and "Fair Pricer".
- Rating tag chips now respond to taps correctly.
- You'll receive a notification when the other party has rated you, prompting you to complete your own rating.
**Bug Fixes**
- Join request no longer shows your home address on the profile card — your address was never shared with admins, so the display was incorrect. Only your distance from the neighborhood is shown.
