Meet your new heart health companion.
POTS Buddy is the Apple Watch app built *with* the POTS and dysautonomia community in mind — not the other way around. Whether you're navigating daily symptom flares, preparing for a doctor's appointment, or just trying to understand what your heart is doing, POTS Buddy is right there on your wrist.
**REAL-TIME HEART RATE MONITORING**
Your Apple Watch already tracks your heart. POTS Buddy turns that data into something meaningful. See your heart rate, beat-to-beat changes (delta), and trend direction at a glance — color-coded so you always know where you stand without decoding numbers.
**POTS STANDING TEST**
The guided standing test walks you through a clinically-informed sit-to-stand protocol right from your wrist. Lie down for 5 minutes, then stand for 10 — POTS Buddy records your heart rate at key intervals (1, 3, 5, and 10 minutes) and shows you the delta. Share the results with your cardiologist or keep them for your own records.
**SMART ALERTS THAT ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE**
Set your own alert thresholds based on your body, not generic defaults. POTS Buddy uses two alert levels — a gentle heads-up for elevated readings, and an urgent alert for extreme spikes — so you're informed without being overwhelmed. Level 1 alerts quietly dismiss themselves after 60 seconds. Level 2 stays until you're ready to acknowledge it.
**SYMPTOM LOGGING ON THE GO**
Feeling dizzy? Chest fluttery? Log symptoms directly from your wrist in seconds using the Apple Watch Digital Crown. No fumbling with your phone, no interrupting your day. Every log is timestamped and ready when you need it.
**CUSTOMIZABLE WATCH FACES**
Make it yours. Choose from multiple themes — including a clean Time & Date only face for those moments when you just need a break from the numbers. Because sometimes the most helpful thing is *not* watching your heart rate.
**EXPORTABLE CHARTS & REPORTS**
See your heart rate trends visualized in beautiful charts, then export everything — graphs, CSVs, and PDF reports — for your care team. Walk into your next appointment with data your doctor can actually use.
**PRIVACY THAT ACTUALLY MEANS SOMETHING**
We don't want your data. Seriously. Everything POTS Buddy collects stays on your device. No accounts, no cloud sync, no third-party sharing. Your health information is yours — full stop.
**DESIGNED FOR REAL LIFE WITH POTS**
We know that anxiety about heart rate can *cause* heart rate spikes. POTS Buddy is designed to be reassuring, not alarming. Calm colors, supportive language, and customizable sensitivity mean the app works *for* you — not against you.
---
POTS Buddy works with iPhone and Apple Watch (Series 4 or later, watchOS 8+). HealthKit integration keeps your data in sync with Apple Health.
*POTS Buddy is a wellness tool, not a medical device. Always consult your healthcare provider for medical advice.*

**Your heart. Your data. Your choice.**
I am enjoying this app so far, but for whatever reason, running the HR continuously makes my activity/exercise rings think I am in a continuous workout so my numbers are WILDLY inflated. Any work around for this?
Needs some work

The app seemed ok in the beginning but I am very reluctant on my watch not just to tell time but to tell me battery life, temp outside among other things. This app renders my watch pretty useless to me for the many reasons I use it but the straw that made me delete the app in the middle of the night was it doesn’t respond to sleep focus. It still alerts even if you put it on apps not allowed. And most importantly I need dark to sleep and since it doesn’t respond to sleep focus it doesn’t dim or go dark and run in the background the screen turns on every time you move as if you didn’t use the focus. So I kept waking up and trying to fix it until I got so frustrated I just deleted it from my watch and then this morning deleted the app. This is something I hope the developer can work to fix in future since sleep is very important but also some people do sleep with watches on because there is a much gentler alarm if you use sleep focus and an even more gentle one on your watch plus some people sleep track.
Great potential, but needs some fixes

I’ve mostly loved this app so far. It’s pretty straightforward to use and I love being able to track my heart rate fluctuations throughout the day. However, I’ve noticed a few issues with it: 1. The app seems to only remember about 24-48 hours worth of my data. It will show me today’s data and yesterday’s, but then it acts like I don’t have any more data before that. The only way to keep my information is to save it as a PDF every day.2. Whenever I’m charging my watch, the app registers my heart rate super high the entire time it’s on the charger, even though it shouldn’t even be reading my heart rate.3. Some of the watch faces are a little buggy and the time is stuck and won’t change. Again, I enjoy this app and want to continue using it, so I hope these bugs can be fixed soon! Thank you for your time.

This is the first app I’ve found that allows me to track my heart rate continuously and tag changes and abnormalities. Essential for finding trends and seeing how treatment is working. I SO appreciate that it is free, especially in the age of subscriptions. It’s such a wonderful gesture to those of us with chronic illness who are also probably dealing with high medical bills. I’d love to see a connection to Apple Health for sodium intake and water. I track these in other apps so it would be a quicker integration and would be helpful to see alongside the data. Overall, I really appreciate that has gone into creating this app. THANK YOU.
We updated the onboarding screens for clarity.
