Nursing school teaches the content. Bedside Coach trains the moment.
Bedside Coach is a nursing simulation app built for what study guides and practice questions cannot fully teach: applying nursing knowledge in realistic patient care situations.
Question banks help you review what you know. Bedside Coach helps you practice what to notice, say, do, delegate, escalate, reassess, and reflect on when patient needs change.
Use Bedside Coach to strengthen clinical judgment, communication, prioritization, and bedside confidence through realistic scenarios, unfolding cases, and coaching feedback.
Practice across fundamentals, med-surg, mental health, pediatrics, and maternal health. Respond in your own words through introductions, assessments, patient education, SBAR, interruptions, and difficult conversations. Review charts, orders, history, diagnostics, waveform vitals, medication workflows, and head-to-toe assessment findings as each case unfolds.
New in version 1.5:
Multi-Patient Mode lets you manage up to 3 patients in one realistic simulation. Hear SBAR handoff for each patient, choose or build an assignment, switch between rooms, delegate CNA/UAP tasks, respond to updates, and practice prioritization, organization, and time management.
Key features:
Practice like a nurse: Move beyond isolated practice questions into realistic patient care decisions.
Voice-first simulation: Respond in your own words without scripted taps or menu-based dialogue.
Multi-Patient Mode: Manage up to 3 patients, switch rooms, delegate tasks, respond to changing needs, and receive end-of-session coaching.
Shift Commander: A replayable, arcade-style 12-hour multi-patient shift challenge with alerts, competing priorities, scoring, and coaching.
NCLEX-style Case Studies: Practice 6-question unfolding patient cases aligned to the clinical judgment sequence.
SBAR handoff: Start each scenario with clear patient priorities.
Immersive clinical context: Simulated vitals, MAR, orders, history, diagnostics, and evolving case data.
Role- and scope-aware practice: Choose RN or LVN/LPN with supported state options so objectives, scoring, and coaching match your lane.
Study Buddy: Connect one learning goal to a case, communication scenario, and nursing trivia.
Test sessions: Pair a learner with a proctor for checkoffs, skills validation, or exam-style practice.
Pump simulation: Program IV pumps, resolve occlusion alerts, and start NG or G-tube feedings.
Medication/barcode workflow: Scan patient and medication barcodes with your device camera or a Bluetooth scanner.
Guided reflection + coaching: End each session with CJMM-aligned feedback, strengths, and improvement areas.
Exportable reports: Generate PDF summaries with transcripts and coaching notes.
Offline-ready: Core simulation works without Wi-Fi.
Privacy-first: Session data stays on device by default.
Free + Pro:
Free: Access low-risk scenarios across fundamentals, med-surg, mental health, pediatrics, and maternal health, with unlimited runs and report export support.
Bedside Coach Pro:
Monthly: $4.99/month
Annual: $49.99/year
U.S. prices shown; pricing may vary by region.
Pro unlocks advanced higher-risk scenarios and Custom Case Creator for offline AirDrop or QR sharing.

I just started my first clinical rotation in nursing school about 2 months ago. I was terrified about talking to patients, other nurses, and drs. I was afraid that I was going to sound incompetent, so I just kind of hid in the shadows hoping my clinical instructor wouldn’t notice. Well, thankfully she did. She recommended this app to help me practice professional communication and my assessment skills. I used the app pretty much every day for about a month. I started off with the free account, and went through all available scenarios. So I upgraded to Pro after about 2 weeks. My clinical instructor has already said that she can tell a big difference in how I am organizing my thoughts and that I sound much more confident. I love the practice questions and therapeutic communication cases as well. Overall, I think it great and I can see myself using this app even beyond graduation. As for feedback, can you please add the ability to see multiple patients at once? I don’t want to get too ahead of myself, but I know that in my later terms and once I start working, I will have to work with multiple patients at once.

I have been a nurse for a few years now. I tried this app after a friend told me about it. I did one of the practice simulations and got 70%. I was shocked that it graded me on how I introduced myself to the patient down to if I asked if they had any allergies. I thought it was really cool that the family members and charge nurse can call you in the middle of the scenario. I called the Dr for orders and the app called me out on a less than ideal SBAR Ha Ha, I didn’t think it would be so thorough! I tried the therapeutic communication scenario for grief and I actually got some very good feedback I can use in practice. I saw that you can actually make your own wristbands and mediation barcodes for practice. Seems cool, but I haven’t tried it yet. Overall, I really like it so far. I’m going to keep using the free scenarios and I’ll report back if I feel like the Pro account is worth it. Definitely recommend!

Haha, I love this review so much I might frame it! 😂Welcome to the app, Nurse Rockstar! First off, 70% on your very first sim? That’s actually solid. Most new users get humbled way harder by that picky introduction and allergy check. The app doesn’t play around! So glad the grief/therapeutic communication scenario gave you feedback you can actually use on the floor. That one hits different. And yes… the custom wristband + medication barcode builder is low-key one of my favorite hidden gems. It’s weirdly satisfying when you scan your own fake meds and it actually works.Super happy you’re enjoying it so far! Keep crushing those free scenarios, and when you’re ready to go Pro, I’ll be here cheering you on.Oh yes, btw, try our new update. I added a ton of new stuff requested by users. Thanks for the awesome feedback. You just made my whole day! 💉❤️

I had the chance to see a demonstration at my hospital. I downloaded it and tried all of the free intro and intermediate med surg cases. I really enjoy the notification system. We got a new AI alert system in our charts and it’s not always right. I feel like this feature will help nurses learn to think for themselves and not over rely on AI. My initial scores were low, but once I realized that I am graded on more than my assessment, down to how I call the Dr, I got much higher scores. I can see this really helping the whole nursing process from initial shift handoff, to programming IV pumps, and even your progress note. Great job overall. I am going to get the pro account to check out the other cases.
Developer Response
Thank you Bigred6153 for your review! I have already seen my fair share of sketchy AI alerts in recent EHRs. My hope is that this feature sparks critical thinking in nurses and minimizes over reliance on AI alerts. Please do let me know if there are other pro features you would like to see! 🙏

I really like the app overall. I just finished my residency. Having an app that really looks at everything is great. From your communication to your assessments. I see a lot of value in the end of life care communication too. Can’t wait for future updates.
