App Store What's New (1.1.12):
New
- AI Skills now deploy to Codex. Write a command once in Markdown and send it to Claude Code or Codex with a
click — edits stay in sync both ways.
- A recording indicator. While you record audio, a live timer floats in the corner; tap it to jump back to the
note that's recording.
Improvements
- Recording keeps running in the background. Splitting the editor or switching to another note no longer stops a
recording, and only one runs at a time so takes never overlap.
Fixes
- Pressing Enter reliably starts a new block, even in long documents where the cursor could get left behind in
the previous block.
- Deleting a project's skill now also removes the command file it deployed.
- A skill deploy that fails partway no longer leaves a stray file behind.
1.1.12 Jun 9
What's New
New
- Expand any diagram to a full-size view. Pinch or use the zoom controls to read large flowcharts and sequence
diagrams clearly.
- Quick-record button: create a recording-ready document in one click and start capturing audio right away.
Improvements
- Bold, italic, inline code, and links now display correctly inside list items and table cells.
- More space between list items keeps longer lists readable.
- Diagrams look cleaner — a transparent background that fits light and dark mode, with tuned spacing and layout.
- Table header rows now fill evenly across all cells.
- New documents open with a title heading ready to fill in.
Fixes
- Scrolling no longer gets stuck when the pointer passes over a diagram.
- Backups now preserve each document's editing mode.

What's New for 1.1.10
New
- Claude Code Workspace: view and manage your Claude Code subagents, slash commands, and project memory right inside Novi's sidebar — no trip to the terminal.
- Edit agents and commands as their real Markdown files, with a live preview as you type. Project memory stays read-only, so your agent stays in charge.
Improvements
- Cleaner, more readable Markdown rendering, with consistent typography across documents and previews.
- Claude, Codex, and Gemini read and edit your notes more precisely: smarter block creation, insert-at-the-top support, and search that jumps straight to
the right block.
Fixes
- Fixed a crash that could occur in the Markdown split view.
- Editing your agent and command files now keeps every part of the file intact on save.
- General stability and reliability improvements.
1.1.10 May 27
What's New (1.1.9)
Important
- The bundled JavaScript runtime has been removed to comply with App Store policy. AI features now use the Node.js you already have on
your Mac. If yours lives in an unusual location, point Novi to it under AI Settings → Node.js Path (Advanced).
Fixes
- TODOs no longer disappear or get overwritten while you're typing them.
- Connecting to a GitHub repo for the first time no longer wipes local data. Your notes stay safe.
- Existing audio transcripts stay visible while a new recording is being transcribed.
- Reading mode scrolls long documents without layout gaps.
- AI tools that append content or replace a section can no longer cause content loss.
- First-time AI connection is more reliable, and transcription output is more consistent.
Improvements
- Enter behavior in lists and checklists is more predictable.
- AI Settings copy is clearer and more focused.
- The Workspace sidebar groups settings and AI providers more consistently.
- Korean translations have been refreshed across recently updated UI.
- Stronger input checks on AI tool calls prevent accidental corruption from connected AI clients.
- A multi-round stability and performance pass touched many surfaces — search, sync, editor, sidebar, and backup all run cleaner.
1.1.9 May 16
• This update makes Novi’s local AI memory layer more reliable, especially around Daily Notes, AI Skills, GitHub restore, and project workspaces.
New and improved:
- Daily Notes now work better with local AI clients, including safer updates for todos and work-log content.
- AI Skills refresh is more complete: Novi can detect missing source files, scan nested skill folders, recognize .codex/skills, and refresh all
skills from one place.
- Project workspace detection is improved for Codex-style project files and skill folders.
- Split views now remember ratios more consistently, and double-clicking the divider resets the layout to 50/50.
- GitHub restore is safer for nested folders, shared parent folders, empty todo sidecars, and backup vault switching.
Fixes and reliability:
- Fixed several todo duplication issues, including carryover duplicates and daily todo row amplification.
- Fixed nondeterministic todo ordering during local AI sync.
- Strengthened sync safety so deletion events are not acknowledged until cleanup succeeds, preventing deleted notes from coming back.
- Improved validation and atomic writes for daily-note updates from local AI clients.
- Fixed launch and refresh-sheet stability issues.
- Fixed calendar split resizing in simple mode.
- Fixed English work-log entries that could include Korean tokens.
- Added additional regression coverage for sync, restore, project skill scanning, and workspace detection.
1.1.8 May 3
What's New in 1.1.7
New
- Heading 4 in the block editor. Type `####` or pick "Heading 4" from the slash menu for deeper outlines.
- Codex configuration backup — `~/.codex/AGENTS.md` and per-project `AGENTS.md` / `AGENTS.override.md` join the GitHub backup alongside Claude Code's
`~/.claude/`.
Improvements
- A repository switch now fully resets the workspace. Open documents close automatically, and leftover folders and trash items from the previous
repository no longer linger.
- Switches no longer re-upload Claude / Codex configuration when nothing has changed — much faster.
- Disconnecting from GitHub now clears all cached state, so the next reconnect starts clean.
- Korean translations added for the new AI tool backup option.
1.1.7 Apr 30
What's new in 1.1.6
New
- Codex projects join the Workspace. AGENTS.md and your .agents/skills folder now sit in the sidebar next to your Claude items.
- Bring your existing skills home. The Global Claude Code section can scan ~/.claude/skills and pull every custom skill into Novi
with one click.
- Five new MCP commands. AI clients can now patch a post-it, delete post-its, manuals, or folders, and rename folders — all from the
chat.
- Faster work logs. Quick entry, prefix toggles, a live counter, and one click to turn selected lines into TODOs.
Improvements
- One-flow repository picker. Push, initialize, and load all walk through the same switch — pick a repo and your workspace moves
there cleanly.
- Workspace details. Codex global skills get their own group, .codex/config.toml is one click away, and Claude items carry the
Anthropic mark.
- Korean is now complete. The last 16 missing labels — backup progress, restore status, paste warnings, error banners — are
translated.
- Friendlier copy across settings and error states.
Fixes
- More than 30 stability fixes — crash safety, sync correctness, memory cleanup.
- Mermaid preview is gentler on memory.
- Code blocks render correctly on first open.
Your data still never leaves your Mac. One-time purchase. Yours forever.
1.1.6 Apr 29
What's New in 1.1.5
Multi-vault GitHub Backup
Switch between backup repositories like vault folders. Each repo keeps its own sync history, so going back to a previous repo no longer triggers a
full re-upload. The backup picker now lets you Load an existing repo, Push your current notes, or Initialize a fresh one.
Folder Trees Preserved
Documents and manuals now keep their complete folder structure — including nested subfolders — when you back up to or restore from GitHub.
Rock-Solid Sync
A round of race-condition fixes across GitHub backup, MCP sync, and vault switching. A cross-process atomic lock now prevents conflicts when an
MCP-connected AI (Claude, Gemini, Codex) edits your notes while you're switching backup vaults. Auto-sync recovers cleanly after every switch.
Complete Korean UI
Filled in the remaining Korean translations across the app — AI Integration setup, GitHub backup flows, Claude Code Dashboard, AI Skills, and the
new error messages are all fully localized.
Friendlier Error Messages
Trash, calendar, and database errors now show clear guidance like "Could not delete the item. Please try again." instead of cryptic system errors.
Raw details still go to the log so support can diagnose.
Graceful Database Recovery
If macOS can't load the data store on launch, Novi now shows a recovery screen with a Reset Data option instead of crashing.
Workspace Fixes
- Claude Code editors (CLAUDE.md and AI Skills) — body text could appear invisible or become uneditable. Both regressions resolved.
- GitHub Restore — Post-its and daily notes no longer show raw JSON when restored.
- Sidebar folder rename now commits to disk immediately.
Performance
- Image cache hashing limited to the first 4KB — lower memory pressure on image-heavy notes.
- Lighter Workspace startup.
Stability Sweep
Over 30 review findings (HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW) fixed across MCP sync, GitHub backup, and the Workspace.
Your data still never leaves your Mac. One-time purchase, yours forever — no subscription, ever.
1.1.5 Apr 27
Novi 1.1.4 focuses on AI responsiveness, safer sync, and editor polish.
New
• Faster AI edits on markdown-mode documents. Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, and Codex can now append or replace
a section without resending the whole document — large notes go from sluggish to instant.
• Line numbers in the markdown source editor.
• Source / Split / Preview view modes for CLAUDE.md files and hook prompts in the Claude Workspace.
• Block-level AI tools now refuse to touch markdown-mode documents, closing a corruption path that could lose content.
Improvements
• Reset All Data and AI CLI auto-configure no longer freeze the app on larger libraries — file I/O runs off the main
thread.
• Incremental sync is smarter. Recently edited notes are no longer re-exported in full on the next sync cycle.
• Faster bold rendering in long bulleted lists.
• Smoother sidebar expansion in the Claude Workspace.
Fixes
• Fixed a crash when loading a GitHub backup (Change Repository → Load) on larger workspaces.
• Fixed sidebar folder renames not persisting across app restarts.
• Fixed the resize cursor getting stuck after switching the split editor's view mode.
• Fixed duplicate folders being created when sync hit a transient error.
• Hardened crash safety in drag selection and dashboard horizontal scrolling.
Your data never leaves your Mac. One-time purchase, yours forever.
1.1.4 Apr 24
What's New in This Version
GitHub Backup, refined
- Choose a repository from a list instead of typing it manually — fewer typos, clearer ownership.
- A freshness badge shows at a glance when your last backup happened.
- Long backup and restore operations can now be cancelled mid-flight.
Smoother editing
- Pasting large images (10MB+) no longer stalls the editor.
- Date display works correctly on devices using non-Gregorian calendars (Thai Buddhist, Japanese Imperial, etc.).
Safer backup & restore
- Tightened the GitHub restore flow against edge cases that could overwrite local changes.
- Fixed a rare layout issue in the monthly calendar view.
- Resolved a memory leak that could keep diagram preview windows alive longer than needed.
Polish
- Table and split-view controls are now fully localized in every supported language.
- More consistent English and Korean strings across settings and AI connection screens.
1.1.3 Apr 23
What's New in 1.1.2
Workspace — your Claude Code control center
A new unified Workspace replaces the old Skills tab. See everything at a glance: a read-only Dashboard summarizing your AI setup, a category-first
Hierarchy view of Skills and Hooks across global and every registered project, and a conflict banner that flags duplicate names and parse failures
before they break your workflow.
Claude Hooks — read, edit, and manage from the app
Browse every hook defined in Claude Code's settings.json, grouped by event and matcher. Toggle hooks on or off with one click without losing the
definition. Create or edit hooks through a single form sheet — no more hand-editing JSON. Writes are atomic and sidecar-safe.
AI Skills — project-aware and portable
Register a project once; Novi auto-scans its existing skills and lists them alongside your global set. Create skills for a specific project, or
export any skill as a clean Markdown file to share. A starter set of bundled skills lands in your library on first launch.
GitHub backup — now includes your AI brain
An optional Claude config backup ships your Skills, CLAUDE.md instructions, and hooks to your GitHub repo alongside your notes. Switch Macs and
restore your whole setup in one step.
Smarter search
Title matches rank first. Multi-word queries use AND matching (every word must match, any order), and you can narrow a search to a specific note
type.
Editor improvements
• Strikethrough button in the formatting toolbar
• ⌘⇧R toggles between read and edit mode
• ⌘W now closes the correct pane in split view
• Large documents save in the background — no more UI freezes
• New "Split document" button for multi-chapter notes
Audio block
Playback progress now updates through TimelineView — smoother scrubbing, lower CPU. Transcription jobs cancel cleanly when you close the note.
Reliability & performance
• MCP sync is now atomic — a failed mid-sync save rolls back cleanly instead of corrupting the index
• Search cache uses a SHA-256 key — no stale results from hash collisions
• List and rich-text layout loops are re-entrancy safe — no more occasional scroll jank
• GitHub backup tasks cancel correctly when stopped mid-upload
• Faster Markdown conversion on large documents
• Wider Swift 6 concurrency adoption for fewer rare edge-case crashes
• Completed Korean localization — table row/column actions and split-view toggle now show in Korean
As always: everything runs locally. No account, no subscription, no cloud.

-- Markdown View Modes --
Three ways to work with Markdown: Source, Split, and Preview. Cycle through them to find your preferred editing style. Each document remembers its own view
mode and edit state.

Daily Notes and Post-its now back up correctly. Previously, plain-text content could be lost during GitHub backup due to a decoding issue — this is fully
resolved.
-- Post-it Improvements --
Post-its now sort by newest first. Fixed a layout issue where view mode buttons could overlap on smaller widths.
-- Under the Hood --
Improved daily note performance by caching carryover checks. Stricter error handling in the MCP sync layer — corrupted data is now caught immediately instead
of silently ignored.
