Butter is for people who work all day and still have to eat. You decide dinner once a week, shop once, and every night the app cooks with you so that no minute at the stove is wasted.
PLAN THE WEEK IN TWO MINUTES
Tell Butter how many people you cook for, how many nights, what you eat and what you never want to see, your budget, and where you shop. It plans five dinners as a set, sharing ingredients across the week on purpose, so the list stays short and nothing goes bad in the fridge. Cheap means chicken thighs, canned goods and frozen vegetables done well. No limit means the good cuts. Either way it is weeknight food, never a project. Portions follow who is home each night, children and guests included, with an extra one for tomorrow's lunchbox if you want it. Simple breakfasts can go on the list too.
ONE SHOPPING LIST
Quantities are added up across the week and grouped the way you walk the store. Check things off in the aisle. Swipe away what you already have. Cans, jars and packs are counted the way stores sell them, in metric or US units.
COOK AS A HOUSEHOLD
Share the week with the people you live with. Everyone sees tonight's dinner and the same shopping list, and whatever one of you checks off in the aisle is checked off on everyone's phone. No accounts to make: send a code and they type it in.
COOK WITHOUT WAITING
This is the part nobody else does. A Butter recipe is not a list to read. The app knows which steps need your hands and which are just timers, and it runs them together: rice simmers on one burner while it tells you to slice the chicken, and when a timer ends it tells you the one thing to do next. When there is nothing to do, it says so and lets you sit down. Every recipe shows honest numbers before you start: total time and time with your hands.
Timers keep running when your phone is locked, with the next step and every countdown on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island. A Tonight widget keeps the evening's dinner, and when to start it, on your home screen and lock screen.
YOUR ROUTINE, NOT OURS
The week starts whenever you plan it. A reminder nudges you on Sunday morning by default and moves to any day, or off. Nothing nags, nothing counts streaks.
SWAP A NIGHT
Plans change. Swap any dinner for three alternatives that reuse what you already bought, or mark a night as eating out.
BUTTER+
Your first week is free, with the cooking screen, sharing and two swaps. Butter+ plans every week after that and lets you swap any night. One subscription covers everyone in your household. Monthly and yearly plans, no weekly billing.
Recipes are generated for your settings and estimated calories and protein are shown per serving as estimates, not medical advice.
