October is here. Every playoff scoreboard now shows where the series stands, and tapping a postseason game opens a new Series tab with every game of that series, scores and all. • Playoff matchups that aren't decided yet name themselves - "NL 3", "CWS/CLE" - instead of a blank crest • The schedule paints instantly from cache, and three months that never loaded at all now do, so your season record is finally right • Doubleheaders let you switch between both games • Win and loss colours are far easier to read in dark mode

Yahoo is back. Yahoo shut off API access earlier this year and Sports Alerts had to read your rosters off Yahoo's website on your phone instead. Access is restored, so connecting your Yahoo account works again — go to Settings, Yahoo, Connect Yahoo Account. Your leagues and rosters come straight from Yahoo now, which is faster and does not depend on the app being open. If you set the app up during the outage, reconnect once and you are on the better path. Reading from the device is still there for any league Connect will not pick up. Also in this build: your phone no longer re-fetches rosters it does not need to, which saves a little battery.

Swipe between players without going back to the list. Every player screen now carries a strip of headshots along the bottom — drag your thumb and the player rises up over it, let go and the card is his. From the Stats leaderboards it shows his rank as you scrub. The season table does a lot more work now. Career totals sit at the bottom, under the seasons they add up. Every advanced stat is in there, at every level, so a Double-A year carries the same columns as a big league one. Minor league and postseason lines are colour coded instead of labelled, which bought the room for all of it. Postseason stats were quietly showing regular season numbers. Fixed. Every team page now shows its actual ballpark instead of a diagram. The schedule opens straight from what it already has instead of waiting on the network.

Compare up to four players side by side. • Pick any four hitters or pitchers and read their seasons in one card — standard, rate and advanced numbers, with each stat's league rank beside it. Every column can sit on a different year. • The winner of every row is green, the trailing number red, so a card reads at a glance. • Faces stay pinned at the top while the stats scroll. • Share the card as an image in one tap, or save it to Photos. The Players tab is now Stats, in the same grouped layout as the rest of the app, with the leaderboard you are reading as the title. Filter any board by team, league, handedness, position or qualifying threshold. Apple Watch: a live game now shows the hitter and the pitcher with the count and the bases between them, and the play-by-play underneath. Widgets: My Teams holds up to three clubs on the small size and six on the medium. The Scoreboard shows the whole day's card, six games at a time, cycling through it.

• Yahoo rosters now refresh in the background, so your lineup stays current without opening the app. This never worked before. • A Yahoo league that stops syncing now tells you why, instead of quietly showing stale data. • Minor-league players now show their real photo instead of a grey placeholder. • Faster injury alerts: a player announced back from the injured list is caught when the news breaks, not when a second reporter repeats it. • New Late Scratch alert — a player pulled from the lineup just before first pitch is usually hurt, and you hear it before the beat writers post.

Yahoo fantasy sync now has a per-league picker. Choose exactly which leagues to sync — turn one off and its players disappear from your list right away, no resync needed. Live game tab rebuilt. Every section is its own card, and the plays navigator lets you tap or swipe through the game. The field shows where each ball was hit, colored to match the outcome. Team logos now appear on the Live Activity lock screen. In-app alerts match the format we post to our X accounts, so nothing reads differently between them. Standings simplified to MLB standings. Plus player, settings and sync refinements throughout.
