Energy tracker for autistic adults dealing with burnout, masking, and sensory overload. No accounts. No streaks. See what drains your energy — and what helps you recover.
Spoons is an energy tracker for autistic adults dealing with burnout, sensory overload, and masking fatigue.
Diagnosed, self-identified, or still figuring it out.
Log how much energy you have at any moment and see patterns around burnout, masking, shutdowns, and sensory overload.
I built Spoons after years of autistic burnout and sensory overload, because the accommodations around me were not enough, and most autism apps on the app store are made specifically for kids, almost NOTHING out there exists for us.
Spoons uses a 0-10 slider to track your energy at any moment. Simply slide and release. (Auto saves upon release)
There is also a history view from the past 14 days right below the slider to view patterns on:
What is draining you:
— Sensory overload
— Masking
— Shutdowns
— Autistic Burnout
What may help restore you:
— Stimming
— Time alone
— Reducing sensory input
Over time, tracking can help you notice subtle drains, recovery patterns, and situations that cost more energy than they first seem to.
Once you start seeing what drains your energy and what helps you recover, you can plan ahead, pace yourself, set boundaries, and make changes that reduce unnecessary exhaustion.
— Taking time off work on very low-energy days
— Removing routines that consistently drain you or create unnecessary friction
— Can lead to fewer meltdowns, shutdowns, and burnout cycles, since your nervous system has less to "fight against".
Spoons also includes reflection cards that makes discovering patterns and drains involves certain days, weeks, months, or even years much more obvious. Drains like:
- Your Mondays tended to be lower recently ->Could correlate specific days that could involve more masking, and more sensory overload, which is usually subconscious and invisible
- Higher-energy days were sometimes followed by lower days soon after. -> Could be a brief recovered period where you have more energy, but after masking or special interest engage, energy is lower for a certain period
- |"Your lowest entries were lower than usual over the past few months".-> Could possibly indicate accumulated sensory overload which could make it hard to recover & deal with more masking or other types of sensory overload that drains you.
These are made to be purely observational as well as actionable, not to point out context that it doesn't know.
This can be very specific and are highly influential from the patterns on your energy you built over time, which helps can you help you plan ahead and self-accommodate yourself what is likely to have the best impact on your energy over time.

- Updated the reflection card captions to be more literal and easier to understand.
- Adjusted the thresholds for what allows certain cards to fire, requiring more evidence for them to confidently fire. This impacts both short and long-term cards.
- Added a couple more reflection cards to the catalog, as well as discarded and removed a couple low-value ones.
- Added subtext to compliment each reflection card. In combination with the main caption and the new visual summary (See below), should allow each card itself to be more actionable rather than simply saying "Your Mondays were the lowest compared to other weekdays", without more context that makes them useful.
- Added a visual summary for majority of the reflection cards, aside from one and two. This allows to better understand what your data means and how it's important without always having to go the day bubbles and manually figure this out yourself. (Which is obviously very exhausting)
- Improved the performance when transitioning from list -> calendar and vice versa. Generally speaking, it should be more snappier than it was before.
