Mac
Drop a video. Pull stills, GIFs, clips, and 1×1 / 1×3 / 2×2 / 9:16 grids in seconds. Native Mac, fully local, no subscriptions.
FramePull is a native Mac app for extracting still frames, animated GIFs, and video clips from any video file — fast, with zero setup.
Drop in a video and the app automatically detects scene cuts, then distributes still markers across your footage. Prefer faces in your frames? Enable the Face Preference mode and the app uses Apple's Vision framework to reposition each marker onto the best face-forward moment nearby. Everything runs on-device with no internet connection required.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPORT
• Still frames — JPEG, PNG, or TIFF at full or scaled resolution
• Animated GIFs — configurable width (320 / 480 / 640 px) and frame rate
• Video clips — short MP4 snippets per scene at 480p up to 4K, with optional 4:5 and 9:16 aspect ratio variants
TWO MODES
Auto Mode analyzes your video and places markers automatically. Adjust the count and placement strategy, then review on the interactive timeline before exporting.
Manual Mode lets you step frame-by-frame and mark exact moments yourself — press S to mark a still, I/O to set clip in/out points. Full undo/redo included.
PRIVACY FIRST
No accounts. No subscriptions. No ads. No analytics. No tracking. The app only reads the video file you choose and writes exports to the folder you choose — nothing else is ever accessed.
Built with native Apple frameworks only: AVFoundation, Vision, CoreImage, ImageIO, AppKit.

0.3.1 — Polish, precision, and a better Process workflow
Timeline
• Frame-precise scene detection — cuts now land exactly on frame boundaries, at your source's actual frame rate (24, 25, 30, 60).
• New snap rules: IN points sit on the cut; OUT points step back one frame so transition frames don't end up in your clips.
• Bidirectional clip marking — hit I then O, or O then I, either order closes a clip.
• Rewritten timeline: smooth playhead motion at any zoom, no more jitter or disappearing cuts at high zoom levels.
• Horizontal scroll-wheel panning (or Shift + vertical wheel on a regular mouse). Beefier 1.5× scroll bar that's easier to grab.
• Zoom now anchors on the playhead's screen position — content under your cursor stays put.
Process workflow (Review · Grids · Export)
• Resizable sheet — scales with the window, works in fullscreen.
• Adaptive Review & Select thumbnails with an S / M / L size picker (your choice persists).
• Draggable splitter in Grid Creation; divider position is remembered across launches.
• Auto Fill in the grid composer now re-rolls on every click — keeps producing new combinations.
• Higher-quality grid preview: stills extracted at 1080, GIF previews at 720, sharper rendering throughout.
• Cancel a running export from the action bar; any partial output is cleaned up automatically.
Reliability
• Fixed: orphan grid references after deleting markers no longer leave black holes in the export.
• Fixed: source-card layout overlap in the grid composer.
• Fixed: scrub flicker on short videos.
• Fixed: iCloud Drive export permissions for security-scoped folders.
• Smaller polish on the Process button, snap toggle, and timeline scroll thumb.
