Mavaul is a private photo and video vault for iPhone.
Everything is encrypted on-device with AES-256. No Mavaul account. Your library stays on your iPhone unless you choose to back it up.

CAST OVER WIFI — NO INTERNET NEEDED
Open local link on your computer, iPad, or TV to view, upload, download,
move, and delete files. Nothing leaves your local network.
ON-DEVICE ENCRYPTION
Every photo and video is encrypted with AES-256 directly on your device.
Mavaul does not keep a copy. Your iPhone is the vault, and you hold the key.
ENCRYPTED BACKUP
Backup is optional, and the copy stays encrypted. Send it to Dropbox, Nextcloud, or any WebDAV server, or save it through Files, including iCloud Drive. Mavaul does not store the backup.
EMAIL RECOVERY
You can email yourself the recovery key. A confirmation code goes to that address first, so a typo never receives the key.
CALCULATOR LOCK SCREEN (OPTIONAL)
Prefer a different unlock screen? Mavaul can display a working calculator
in place of the passcode prompt. It's a cosmetic option — your photos are
protected by the same passcode and encryption either way.

Ratings & Reviews

Email your recovery key with a confirmation code first, then the key itself. Turning the passcode off decrypts the vault before the lock comes off.
New
• Feedback & Support is in Settings, under Rate.
Improved
• Recovery email sends a code to the address you typed, then a second email with the key. A wrong address does not receive the key.
• Turning the passcode off shows progress and will not finish until the vault is decrypted. Turning it back on encrypts again. Folders stay.
• Photos that were still unencrypted get encrypted. Copies left behind so a photo could be shown are cleared when the vault starts locked.
• Thumbnails show up as soon as you unlock, in the main gallery and in folders. The app opens faster, and imports are quicker.
• Settings shows encryption as its own state. The vault card glows when encryption finishes.
Fixed
• Choosing not to delete the originals in Photos is no longer reported as an error.
• Starting over no longer gets stuck on metadata from a vault you already removed.
