Cadence has a new look! And what else to go with this new look than a new scoring system! We've revamped how scoring works in Cadence. The single number you used to see is now a letter grade, backed by four sub-scores that show you exactly which part of your delivery to work on next. Each session now leads with a letter (A+ through F). The same 0–100 number lives underneath, keeping the same total score - Four sub-scores. Fluency, Pacing, Variety, and Confidence — scored independently. A B+ overall with a C+ in Variety let's you know you can work on your vocabulary next. - Long pauses and stutters. Cadence now spots silent hesitations and short repeated phrases ("I — I — I think") in your speech. They show up inline in the transcript with gold pause pills and coral underlines, so you can see exactly where they happened. - Tap to dig in. Tap any sub-score card to jump straight to the moments in your transcript that earned it. - Variety and Confidence: these are beta addition. They work today, but the weights may shift as we calibrate against more recordings. Tap any BETA badge for the details. A note on recordings: the same recording that scored 73 last week might come back as a B- this week, with one sub-score in the green and another flagged for practice. This is to give more granular insight into how you might better improve in your speech, by not just counting your fillers. Also miscellaneous bug fixes and performance improvements.

Introducing Discourse Markers For those of us that not only want to stop saying filler words like "uh" and "um", but also "like", "well", and "you know", we've added detection for discourse markers. Discourse markers are words or phrases such as "so," "well," "like" and "okay" used to manage the flow, structure, and tone of conversation. They act as signposts that connect ideas, signal attitudes, and help organize spoken discourse. While less impactful for your speech than fillers, overusing them can diminish your eloquence. Our detection of discourse markers may not be 100% perfect\u{2014}this section is mostly to keep you mindful of how you use them. The discourse markers we currently track include "like", "so", "well", "right", "okay", "basically" and "actually", along with multi-word discourse markers like "you know", "I mean", "sort of", and "kind of". Premium users will be able to see the full discourse marker breakdown in their transcripts, whereas Free users will see a count. The detection on using discourse markers as part of the sentence structure versus as a filler is done by a proprietary algorithm, and it may not be 100% accurate, and as part of that we've added 2 sections in the profile page for submitting bug reports if you think something went wrong, and also a feedback section to leave a review!
