spooky season got into the app - new haunted icon (miss the old one? switch back in account) - haunted mode: bats, pumpkins, cobwebs and a dressed-up room, with a switch if you'd rather not - iPhone widgets for what you're currently reading, including lock screen ones with the moon phase - a mood pick of the day widget - spooky season reads leads the featured stacks for the season - plus a pile of small fixes go read something good

a big one - thank you for every bug report and every "hey this is weird" - your taste page lives in the app now. see what you told us, fix anything that's off, and decide whether MoodReads learns from you - dnf'ing or finishing a book asks why (optional, private). tap the reasons that fit and move on - "that's wrong" on any BookMatch reason, plus "don't learn from this book" for the ones you hate-read - new moods: playful, inspired, relieved, busy, nostalgic, sick and easy - the spice index shows all 7 levels - series show up in reading order, even the books we only know by title - your moon taps and familiars sync between web and the app - imports are sturdier, and when something goes wrong it tells you what in plain words - basic manual placeholders are free - sign-in is faster and your session stays encrypted on your phone - new analytics + privacy page in settings, so you decide whether google analytics sees how you use the app - fixed a crash that could happen while a screen was closing go read something good

big imports hold up better now. if a csv import from goodreads or storygraph gets interrupted, pick the same file again and it carries on from where it stopped. if it can't finish, it tells you what went wrong and what to do next. also fixed: the read more button on a book's description works after you change your text size, and the save-a-quote row lines up with the rest of the page.

felt like something was missing in an app called MoodReads. so we started tracking your mood. tag how you're feeling when you start or finish a book or open bookmatch - one tap, there for you when you want it. your reading history gets a mood dimension now: see it on your calendar, and watch patterns show up in your stats. also in this one: title search opens from every tab now, kindle unlimited trials and libro.fm show up right on the book page, and a stack of stability fixes.

go on. take a blind date with a book. answer a couple of questions about the kind of night you're having and whether you want to sit in the feeling or get out of it. we deal you twelve cards. you pick your favorites blind. you don't get the cover or the title, so nothing talks you into it. just vibes. then we'll tell you your best match for the night and you can add the rest to your TBR for later. rank your reads. drag everything you've finished into tiers you can share. search the catalog, pull the books you've already judged in your heart and move them around until it's right. you get a card at the end you can share. also: your reading progress stopped getting stuck. if a page update or a shelf change failed it used to fail quietly, and now it retries and says so when it genuinely can't save. plus hero cards that carry the vibe and tropes, a bookmatch that stops sounding certain when the evidence isn't there, and a pile of stability work under the hood. happy reading.

fixed a background sync issue that could leave the app stuck out of date - updates should land smoothly again from here. a handful of bugs caught from real device testing, plus the usual stability cleanup.

private books keep their whole reading history now - every reread, finish date, format and rating stays where you put it. BookMatch tells you why a result earned its spot. VoiceOver, larger text, Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency got a serious cleanup too. also: imports, notifications and a mildly unreasonable pile of stability fixes.

more got a proper glow-up. your reading goal (and pet, if you have one) now live at the top, shelf sorting can stack filter after filter, and your little reading receipts end with one very pretty wrapped card to share. also: book endings stay hidden until you press and hold for three seconds. no more accidental emotional damage.

Audiobooks have their own corner now. Track what you listen to and leave a private rating, separate from the books you read with your eyes.

we redesigned the whole app. come take a look. point your camera at a book. the scanner is here - scan any barcode and the book lands on your shelf, whether it's in our catalog or one you shelve by hand. adding books is a whole new flow: scan it, search it, or type it in yourself. inner circle members also get shelf snap - photograph a whole bookshelf and we'll recognize what's on it. the home screen sky is alive now too - it follows your actual sunrise, sunset, and moon, wherever you are. added a little 11:11 whimsy. also: the scrying orb got prettier, great hall book links work again, and a pile of stability fixes. huge update!

this one's about the thing that matters most - getting you to the right book. BookMatch is smarter now: better, more accurate matches and personalization that learns what you reach for, so the more you use it the closer it gets. new this update: - filter by Kindle Unlimited, so you only see what's free to read on KU - fixes for sign-in, profile editing, and posting in the Great Hall - plus a pile of smaller bug fixes feedback shapes what we build next. please drop a message if something's working well or isn't!

Scry is now on mobile. Tell the crystal ball what you're waiting for - "dark fae enemies-to-lovers, spice 4+, no on-page assault" - and we watch the catalog so you don't have to. When a match lands, we ping you. Free readers see matches in-app; premium gets email digests on your schedule. Find it in your Account tab. Also in this update: - Reading reminders now ask to be set the moment you mark a book as currently reading - Discover search is easier to read - Bug fixes and stability improvements

we tagged your narrators. every book shows narrator + audio format now. filter to audiobook-only in search, or use the two new audio stack cards on home. if you mostly listen, tell us in onboarding and your For You picks will adjust! also: bespoke nav icons, shareable stats cards, streak moved to shelves, tab haptics, general smoothness improvements, esp to your compendium (the good stuff).

what's new in 1.0.2: • profile photo upload on edit profile • chats inside pacts and covens • toggle to hide already-read books on discover • shelf menu to rename, share, or delete a shelf • author names now link to the author's other books • MC and love interest labels (replaces FMC/MMC) • pacts and covens no longer hang on infinite load • smaller fixes: spoiler settings, emotional payoff text wrapping, world & setting layout, notes save indicator, "add to shelf" chat link reply to jenny@moodreads.app if anything's broken.
