Prayer First: Amen to Unlock
Christian App Blocker & Bible
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Prayer First is a powerful mobile app designed to support Christians in cultivating a disciplined and consistent prayer life by helping them reduce distraction from their digital devices. In today's fast-paced world, countless apps and notifications compete for our attention, making it challenging to prioritize morning prayer and evening prayer. With Prayer First, you gain an effective screen time control tool and app blocker that locks selected apps or categories, encouraging you to put prayer before scrolling through social media, news, or other distractions.
Setting up Prayer First is simple: choose which apps or categories to lock during your daily spiritual practice, and the app will keep those distractions at bay until your prayer session is complete. The app employs an innovative prayer flow — a guided, mindful process crafted to help you slow down, reconnect with your faith, and show up consistently before God each day. As you engage with the flow, you'll experience a calm moment of reflection, including a mood check, thoughtfully curated guided prayer text, and an optional prayer journal to capture your thoughts and spiritual insights.
One of the standout features of Prayer First is its ability to personalize your prayer routine. You can set up to four custom prayer reminders tailored to fit your schedule, reinforcing your spiritual discipline and nudging you towards greater spiritual growth. The app blocker will then unlock your chosen apps only after you've completed your prayer, ensuring you start the day with focused devotion and maintain digital wellness throughout.
In addition to prayer guidance, Prayer First offers a fresh Bible verse daily, encouraging users to engage in ongoing bible study and reflection. You also get the option to receive verse reminders at convenient times, perfectly syncing your moments of meditation with your busy life. Whether you're looking to deepen your spiritual discipline or integrate quick moments of prayer into your day, this feature acts as a gentle yet powerful encouragement.
To empower your journey further, Prayer First tracks comprehensive metrics such as streaks of completed prayers, total prayer time, consistency, mood patterns, and journal reflections. Monitoring these insights can help you discover meaningful trends in your spiritual life and reinforce your commitment to daily prayer practices.
Prayer First is not just an ordinary prayer app—it’s a holistic tool combining the benefits of digital wellness, screen time control, and spiritual enrichment. Its customizable unlock schedule allows you to choose how long your apps remain accessible after prayer, whether it’s a short reset or an extended break, perfectly suiting your daily rhythm and needs.
Built with Christian users in mind, Prayer First goes beyond simply motivating you; it provides a tangible structure to your prayer journey. By locking distracting apps, users can experience increased focus and reduced temptation to scroll endlessly, helping them re-center their hearts and minds on God’s word. This app effectively integrates spiritual discipline with the modern challenge of managing digital distractions, making it easier and more rewarding to commit to your personal faith walk.
Whether you’re engaging in bible chat with yourself or preparing to share insights with your community, or deepening your bible study, Prayer First supports your spiritual goals with seamless technology. It’s the perfect companion for believers looking to strengthen their relationship with God.
Experience the peace of mind that comes from balancing your spiritual commitments and digital habits.

A faster, clearer start: onboarding moves quicker and reads better. Your apps now lock again at each prayer time, even when Prayer First is closed. Quick unlock no longer changes your daily prayer times, the home screen widget shows your real streak, and you can manage your subscription from Settings. Plus fixes for offline use, journal entries, reminders and Apple Watch.
