What’s New in Halves 4.0 This is our biggest update yet: smarter task creation, real subtasks, richer widgets, and a faster way to stay in sync. Smarter task capture • New chat-style Add flow. Type or speak naturally, preview what Halves understood, edit it, then save when it looks right. • Create multiple tasks from one message, including dates, reminders, owners, privacy, notes, categories, and recurring details. • Break tasks into ordered subtasks with AI suggestions. Keep, edit, or discard each step. • Real subtasks now track parent progress and can auto-complete the parent when the last step is done. • Halves can expand list ideas too, turning things like “pasta night” or “weekend groceries” into editable checklist items. Weekly Recap now shows each group in its own section, with stats and top categories. Switch groups from a new pill in the header. Categories appear inline before each task title. Improved Apple Watch app: Tap tasks complete from your wrist, dictate new ones, or glance at your next task on the watch face. Tonight's Plan in Dynamic Island: See today's tasks on the Lock Screen. Tap any row to tick it off without opening the app. Edit profile in Settings: Tap your avatar or name to change it right there, no separate profile page. Medium widget: Now shows three tasks instead of two. Faster partner sync: Edits land instantly, and the app reconnects itself if your connection drops. Offline edits survive everything: Force-quit, crash, restart - nothing gets lost. Smaller app: 14MB instead of 20MB. Plus many small fixes and polish.

Shared lists: Tap Lists next to + for any checklist. Items sync as you tick them. Hold the mic inside a list and dictate "milk, eggs, two loaves of bread, apples". Each lands as its own item. Clear Items keeps the list but wipes the checks. Finished lists auto-archive to Recent Lists. Lists widget: Tap items on your Home Screen to check them off. Add Task: Dictate or type. Halves parses title, date, priority, and assignee in many languages. Shorter onboarding. Long-press a completed task to react. Group Settings: Real avatars, tidier layout.
