Tunebar lives in your menu bar, ready the moment you need it. Click, play, get back to work. No accounts. No streaming. No
tracking. No ads. Just your music.
Point it at a folder of music files and that's it. Your library, your files, your rules.
PLAYS WHAT YOU OWN
MP3, FLAC, M4A, WAV, AAC, AIFF, and OGG. No format left behind.
ALWAYS THERE, NEVER IN THE WAY
Lives in your menu bar. One click opens your library. One click closes it. Media keys work exactly as you'd expect. Play,
pause, skip, and scrub from your keyboard or Control Center.
SING ALONG
Pop open the lyrics panel and follow along, line by line. Click any line to jump straight to that moment in the song. Fetched on demand, only when you ask.
FIND IT FAST
Search your library instantly. Sort by title, artist, album, duration, or folder.
FIX YOUR TAGS
Edit track metadata directly. Title, artist, album, track number, and artwork. Or fetch metadata automatically from
MusicBrainz, complete with cover art.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account required. No data collection. No analytics. No network calls unless you ask for metadata or lyrics. Everything stays on your
Mac.
Tunebar is for people who still own their music and want a simple, fast, distraction-free way to play it.

Super simple tunes
mujoh
I used Cog for years until it took a nosedive after the developer gave up on it. Went searching and ran across Tunebar. It’s much better than Cog ever was and super simple access to my local library of tunes. Love it.
Developer Response
Thank you!
No More Apple Music! At last
Les Hall
Seems very zippy and jumps around to whatever track I want just like that - snap! I have a feeling the developer will fine tune things as per user suggestions. It says “Edit metadata” but it seems a bit rudimentary right now. At some stage Apple Music screwed up the times of a lot of my tracks. I would love to be able to edit that…Well worth the price.
Finally a VOX alternative!

Thanks for working on this, I started similar project but never finished. I have been using foobar2000 lately, but it’s a bit ugly xD
• Redesigned mini player: a compact, collapsed bar with album art and packed transport controls. Tap to expand to the full card. Now rendered with real Liquid Glass.
• Repeat modes: cycle through Off, Repeat All, and Repeat One.
• Pick up where you left off. Tunebar now remembers your last-played track, your place in the library, and your shuffle and repeat settings across launches.
• Live folder sync: songs you add, remove, or edit in your music folder now appear instantly, without relaunching the app.
• Dramatically faster library scans on large libraries, thanks to metadata caching.
• Smoother scrolling through big libraries.
