We are continuously improving our food recognition feature. Please be patient. A major update is scheduled for next month that will significantly enhance this feature.
Calometric is the nutrition tracker that actually respects you — your wallet, your time, and your privacy.
Snap a photo, scan a barcode, speak your meal, search our database, or read a nutrition label. Five ways to log, all powered by on-device intelligence. No cloud servers. No subscriptions. No data collection. Pay once, own it forever.
FIVE WAYS TO LOG — USE WHAT WORKS FOR YOU
• Photo Scan — Take a photo of your meal. On-device Vision identifies the foods and matches them against USDA nutrition data. No internet required.
• Barcode Scanner — Point your camera at any packaged food. Instant lookup from Open Food Facts with full nutrition breakdown.
• Voice Logging — Say what you ate. Real-time speech recognition transcribes your words, matches foods, and logs the meal hands-free.
• Food Search — Browse and search 177 foods from the USDA FoodData Central database. Authoritative nutrition data you can trust.
• Nutrition Label OCR — Point your camera at a nutrition label. Calometric reads the text and extracts calories, carbs, protein, and fat automatically.

Updated Review:Not as good as I once thought. The app is good at barcodes and reading nutrition labels but unfortunately has a hard time customizing food if you cook your own food. When adding 100g chicken breast, it was 0 calories with 0 grams of protein. Also no way to edit calories, fat, protein on custom meals.Original Review:So far this is the best calorie/food tracker without a subscription. Nice, clean, and organized. Even has a widget when you’re looking at your calorie intake a glance.
Developer Response
Hi! Thank you for the updated review and for the kind words about the app.Great news, the latest update adds exactly what you're looking for! You can now create custom foods in "My Foods" with your own calories, protein, fat, and carbs. They show up across all searches, voice logging, and Siri too.The chicken breast issue sounds like it matched a wrong entry in the database. With custom foods you can save your own "100g chicken breast" with the correct macros and reuse it every time.Would love for you to give the update a try, I think it addresses everything you mentioned. Thanks for sticking with the app!
Thanks for using Calometric! This update makes tracking smoother and more dependable:
• Fixed a rare crash when logging very large portions, so nothing interrupts your meal.
• Your macro targets now add up exactly to your daily calorie goal.
• Smarter food recognition for more accurate results when you snap a photo.
Loving Calometric? A quick rating helps other people discover it. Snap. Know. Thrive.
