Choose 1440p, 4K, or up to your Mac display's native resolution at 30 or 60 fps. Beam shows only sizes supported by your Mac display. Advanced settings can also force connections through your stored Tailscale address.

Beam 3.4: Mac keys, right-click, drag and scroll. • Mac keys above your keyboard. Live keyboard now has a row of Mac keys: esc, tab, the arrows and ⌃ ⌥ ⇧ ⌘. Swipe it for home, end, page up and down, forward delete and F1 to F12. Tap a modifier for one key, or hold it to lock it for as many shortcuts as you like. • Double-click, right-click, drag and scroll. In click mode, tap twice to double-click. Touch and hold, then move to drag windows or select text, or lift to right-click. Slide two fingers to scroll. The cursor button shows every gesture. • Type and click together. Keyboard and click mode can be on at the same time, and the picture slides up so the keyboard doesn't cover it. • Fixes. Zooming out no longer leaves the picture off the edge, turning the phone keeps the keyboard open, and the key row stays clear of the notch in landscape. The new keys and gestures need Beacon 1.7 on the Mac (it updates itself).

Beam 3.3: a new streaming engine, stream modes, and audio that stays put. Everything from v3 is here too. • New streaming engine. Video, audio and controller input travel over a transport built for games: lost packets are repaired in milliseconds instead of stalling the stream, so a busy Wi-Fi network no longer means hitches. If it ever struggles, Beam falls back to the old path on its own. Needs Beacon 1.6 on the Mac (it updates itself). • Stream modes. Game trades a little picture detail for the tightest input response, Video gives the picture everything, Auto picks Game whenever a controller is attached or click mode is on. Change it in Settings or from the in-stream sheet, it applies live. • Audio that stays put. Sound no longer crackles or drops out when the radio hiccups. Beam sizes its audio buffer to what your network actually does. • Much lower latency. A press reaches the screen in about a third of the time it took before. The Mac sends video at the pace your Wi-Fi can carry and frames go straight to the display. Needs Beacon 1.5.1 or later on the Mac (it updates itself). • 120 fps. Beam now works on local networks without an internet connection. Connect your Mac and iPhone to the same router and stream anywhere, no internet required. Your purchase stays active offline.

Streaming in Picture-in-Picture is now more stable. If the connection drops, Beam reconnects automatically so your stream keeps going.
