• Scanned pages have no text layer, so text, Word and Excel export cannot read them (that needs OCR). The app tells you which pages those are.
• Removing a password requires knowing the password. This app does not crack anything.

l've tried a lot of PDF apps, and this is easily one of the simplest and most reliable. The interface is clean, everything is easy to find, and conversions are fast.It handles all the essentials. I can convert PDFs to JPG, PNG, Word, or plain text, and turn images or Word documents back into PDFs in seconds. The merge, split, and compress tools are also quick and work exactly as expected.
Extract images, and bookmarks that survive merging
• New tool: Extract images. It saves the pictures in a PDF as separate files; JPEG photos stay exactly as they were.
• Merge PDFs keeps each file’s bookmarks. If you like, every file gets its own bookmark, and you can rename it before merging.
• Split PDF keeps the bookmarks of the pages it keeps.
• Compress PDF shows the estimated size before you start.
• PDF to Text, Word and Excel tell you which pages have no text (usually scanned pages).
• Word to PDF shows Chinese, Japanese and Korean text, and text copied from the PDF comes out right.
• Chord sheets made with songbook fonts keep their chord diagrams on one line, as in Word.
