Music credits and identifiers

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Search any ISRC, ISWC, IPI, ISNI, or UPC and see the songwriters, publishers, and recordings behind it. Free, open, and no account required. Music metadata is fragmented across dozens of databases, organizations, and platforms. Finding who wrote a song, which identifiers are assigned to a recording, or how rights holders connect to works usually means searching several sources by hand. Credits.fm brings that data together in one place. Search any music identifier and see the credits behind it — free, with no account required. LOOK UP ANY IDENTIFIER • ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) — a specific sound recording. Song title, artists, songwriter names and roles, publisher chains, the linked ISWC, album, duration, and links to listen on Spotify and Apple Music. • ISWC (International Standard Musical Work Code) — the underlying composition. Title, alternative titles, every recording of the work, and songwriter credits with IPI codes. • IPI (Interested Parties Information) — a songwriter or publisher. Their works, recordings, co-writers, publishers, and linked ISNI. • ISNI (International Standard Name Identifier) — a creative contributor across music, books, film and academia. Name variants, roles, and cross-references to other identity systems. • UPC (Universal Product Code) — an album release. Album title, label, and every song on it with its ISRC. • Musician — the real person behind the music. Songwriter and performer credits, group memberships, discography, IPI and ISNI codes. WHAT'S INSIDE • 53M+ recordings with songwriter credits • 125M+ musical works • 2M+ songwriter and publisher identifiers • 5M+ album releases with full song lists • 146K+ creative contributor identifiers WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM Open data from the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC), MusicBrainz (CC0), CISAC and ISNI.org, queried in parallel so no one source holds up the rest. Spotify and Apple Music provide links to listen, plus titles and artist names where the open sources have gaps. Ownership share percentages are not shown, pending MLC licensing. LEARN THE VOCABULARY Guides to every identifier — what an ISRC is, how it differs from an ISWC or a UPC, how to find your own ISRC, and how to find out who wrote a song. Credits.fm is free and open. No account, no sign-up. Built by Notes Frequencies, Inc., the team behind Notes.fm — Music Royalties, Simplified.
