Quay syncs a folder on your Mac with a GitHub repository, from the menu bar, in one click. Write in any editor. Save your work. Click Sync. Quay pulls what changed, commits your work with a sensible message, and pushes it. No terminal, no git commands to remember. ONE-CLICK SYNC Pull, commit and push in a single action. Quay writes the commit message for you — "Update index.html", "Add 5 files in content/" — and you can edit it before syncing when you want to say something more specific. SEE WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO PUBLISH A live list of changed files, with insertions and deletions, before anything leaves your Mac. Full sync history per repository, so you can see what was pushed and when. SIGN IN WITH GITHUB One-tap OAuth sign-in — no personal access token to create, paste or rotate, though Quay still accepts one if you prefer. Your credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain and are only ever sent to github.com. SAFETY CHECKS Quay refuses to push files that look like secrets — .env files, private keys, certificates — and anything over 50 MB, including files inside folders you have only just added. It tells you what it found and why it stopped, before anything is committed. CONFLICT HANDLING THAT EXPLAINS ITSELF Edited the same project on two Macs? Quay fast-forwards when it can, and replays your work on top of the remote when both sides have moved. When there is a genuine conflict it stops and offers clear choices — merge, rebase, start a fresh branch, or reset — in plain language, with the destructive option clearly marked. BRANCHES Create, switch, merge and delete branches from the same panel. Merge conflicts are detected, explained, and can be abandoned cleanly. KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING ON GITHUB Open issue and pull request counts, CI status and the latest release, shown per repository and refreshed in the background. Security and reliability. SECURITY • Your GitHub token is now stored in the macOS Keychain. • The token is only ever sent to github.com, and is no longer visible in the system process list while git is running. SAFETY CHECKS • Quay now looks inside folders you have only just added, so a .env file or a very large file in a brand-new folder is caught before it can reach GitHub. SYNC • Quay now commits your changes before pulling, so edits made on two Macs are handled by Quay's conflict options rather than a raw git error. • Changes made elsewhere that do not clash with yours are merged automatically instead of stopping to ask. • A commit left behind by a failed push is now pushed on the next sync. FIXES • Sync progress is shown in the panel, and the Sync button is disabled while a sync runs. • Failure notifications now work. • The purchase price shown now matches your App Store region. • "Launch at login" now reflects whether it is actually switched on.
