Thank you to the genius creators of this app. By far one of the best on the market. This will certainly be an app I use everyday to stay up to date with what’s happening around the world. ✌️

While the World Monitor app presents an undeniably sleek and visually appealing interface, a deeper examination reveals significant limitations that temper its value as a comprehensive global situational awareness tool. Most notably, the platform offers virtually no meaningful coverage of China—or indeed many other major nations.According to the app, China maintains no overseas military bases, operates no notable naval fleets, and conducts no relevant air activity. This conspicuous absence across multiple domains feels deliberate rather than accidental, leading one to wonder about the origins and priorities of the development team.In contrast, the app’s military data is overwhelmingly concentrated on the United States and a handful of its allies. This imbalance creates a distinctly one-sided lens that undermines the “World” designation in its name. The military flight tracking feature, in particular, proves disappointing—populated with what appear to be fictional or static aircraft that show little to no realistic movement. Rather than delivering genuine, dynamic intelligence, it often feels ornamental.Beneath the polished UI, the application seems to repackage publicly available Dataminr feeds into an attractive wrapper. As someone with an existing permanent Dataminr subscription, I found little added utility here beyond aesthetics.Final Verdict: The app has potential, but it currently falls short of being a truly global monitor. I will likely revisit it in the future if the developers invest in balanced, substantive data upgrades. Until then, it remains more decorative than indispensable.

Pros: you can select what you’re looking for and what your interests are. Con: when an event happens you’re not directed to a close up of said event or article addressing what just flashed as either a conflict or report. What also is a disappointment? If I’m to know what to look for? I’m at a loss. For what I have paid. It feels like a waste of money for a runaround I don’t have time for. Another negative. Some news outlets I’m not going to pay for. Why not put up outlets one can actually read without a pay wall? Also when not selecting sports it still shows sports. How about some control over the content?

On the positive side, it has some interesting map layers, such as undersea cables, data centers, and military bases. On the negative side, it’s too busy and features the usual mainstream media news articles that I wouldn’t pay for. It has a "military intel" vibe - a UI that looks "cool" but is gimmicky. I subscribed for a week only; if the free version allows for the map layers, maybe I’ll keep it around as a reference.
