A REDESIGNED SHELF Your collection has been rebuilt around the bags themselves. Photos are bigger and taller, so you recognise a coffee the way you do on the shelf, and every card is now the same size — no more ragged rows when one bag has more tasting notes than another. Grid and list finally look like the same app. KNOW WHAT TO DRINK WITHOUT READING Every coffee carries a freshness gauge. The amber band in the middle means "drink this now", and the marker shows where that bag sits: still resting, ready, or past its window. Scan down your shelf and the ones worth opening stand out. ROOM TO BREATHE ON BIGGER SCREENS On iPad — and on iPhone Duo when it's open — your roast levels and archive now live in a sidebar, with the catalogue laid out across the full width instead of two oversized cards. Fold it shut and it returns to the familiar single-column view. ALSO FIXED Coffee cards on iPad sometimes wouldn't open when tapped. On the detail screen, the buttons over a bright bag photo were hard to read — they now sit on frosted glass, with share, archive and delete tidied into a menu.

ICLOUD SYNC Your collection now syncs across your devices. Scan a bag on your phone and it's on your iPad — roaster, origin, roast date, tasting notes, and the bag photo, which never used to travel with it. If you've opened Bean AI on a second device and found it empty, this is the fix. Open the app on the device that holds your collection and it will upload, then your other devices catch up on their next launch. Nothing to reinstall, nothing to set up. Also in this release: catalogue cards on iPad sometimes wouldn't open when tapped — fixed. And bag photos are stored far more efficiently, so both the app and your iCloud storage take up a fraction of the space.

DECENT DE1 SYNC If you run Decenza on the tablet attached to your Decent DE1, Bean AI can now push a coffee straight into its bag list — roaster, origin, process, roast date, tasting notes and the bag photo you scanned. The coffee you catalogued here is waiting for you at the machine. Set your tablet's address under Settings → Decent DE1 Sync. The sync button only appears once you've configured it, so nothing changes if you don't have a Decent machine. Also in this release: clearer wording about where the free tier stops.

List view is here — tap the new grid/list toggle in the top bar to switch your catalog to a rich list layout. Each row shows the bag photo, roast level, origin, tasting notes across two lines, time since roast, and a compact peak flavor bar. Your view preference is saved between sessions. We also fixed AI enrichment for manually added coffees — tasting notes and bag images now come from the roaster's actual website rather than Claude's general knowledge, so you get the real flavor profile instead of generic guesses.

Brewing Tab Each coffee now has a Brewing tab with AI-generated recipes tailored to that specific bean — its roast level, origin, and process method all factor in. Free users can now try Claude AI enrichment — tap the sparkles button on any coffee and Claude fills in origin, altitude, varietals, tasting notes, and more. You get 20 enrichments included with the free tier. Added manual entry: no bag to scan? Type a roaster and coffee name and let Claude fill the rest automatically. Also added Co-Ferment to the process method options, and fixed a bug where running AI enrichment a second time wouldn't pick up changes you'd made to the fields.

Claude AI Enrichment (Pro) Tap the AI button on any coffee and Claude fills in what the label didn't say — origin, altitude, varietals, certifications, tasting notes, and more. Works from just a brand name and coffee name. Add Coffees Manually No bag? No problem. The new "+" menu lets you type a coffee directly. Pro users can tap "Fill with AI" once they've entered the name and Bean AI fills everything else — including finding a product photo automatically. Brewing Guidance (Pro) Every coffee now shows how many days to rest it after roast before brewing, and the window when it's at peak flavour. Know exactly when to open the bag.
