ALINE Network
20ft away is a 93% match
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
ALINE is a real-time professional networking app that helps you meet the right people who are within your proximity.
When you open the app and go visible, ALINE identifies professionals around you who match your goals, role, and interests -- whether you're at a conference, coworking space, campus, coffee shop, or event.
No more:
"I'm afraid to go up to them"
"Will they like me"
"Are we wasting each other's time"
Stop spending hours searching on LinkedIn, sending connection requests that get ignored, or endlessly swiping through profiles.
ALINE breaks the ice for you, to make meeting people easy, fun and fast:
Students - Mentors
Founders - Investors
Entrepreneurs - Co-founders
Job Seekers - Employers
Companies - Vendors
Sales - Customers
Recruiters - Talent
Consultants - Clients
Connect based on what truly matters -- your goals, skills, and values -- not your photo, name, appearance or personal info.
Reveal who you are only when you choose, turning every connection into a professionally valuable interaction rather than a superficial first impression.
ALINE is for professional growth, not dating.
more Most networking events I might have a plan of who I want to speak with, but especially at bigger events, it’s near impossible to find each of those people. I wish I had ALINE sooner to ensure I meet all of the people I need to IRL at the event, and it takes away the awkward ‘how should we connect/follow up’ because we can already communicate and schedule follow ups in the app. Looking forward to meeting more people through ALINE!

The app has a clean and simple experience, and it makes networking feel more natural and personal. I’m looking forward to meeting interesting people, building genuine relationships, and discovering new professional opportunities through ALINE.

I’m genuinely amazed by ALINE Network. It makes networking feel almost effortless by showing you highly relevant people nearby in real time. The matching feels surprisingly accurate, and it completely changes how you approach events and professional connections. This is exactly the kind of technology networking has been missing. Very impressive!

What's new in ALINE 2.20.11:

• Events get short, shareable links that are easy to remember.
• Save your email once and ALINE fills it in wherever an email is asked for.
• Contests show how to enter and how they're judged, and judges can name a single winner. Members are notified when results are in.
• Posting to Member videos never enters you into a contest by accident.
• A Live now card at the top of a group shows what's happening right now.
• Group admins can add a referral code so new members who join through the group are credited to that person.
• New messages move their conversation to the top of Messages.
• At speed networking or cohort matching, your round partner or a teammate can ask to find you. Tap Share and you'll both see which way to go and how close you are.

Groups bug fix

Bug fixes & Improvements
2.19.974 Oct 17
Running a group is easier. Owners and admins get a Manage tab that puts join requests, events, invites and settings in one place. You can import a list to add members, edit settings section by section, and run each event from one card, with times shown in the event's own time zone.
Organizers can open a group report, download an event's attendee list, and get every event report by email.
Admins can see who was removed and undo it, offer ownership of the group to a member, ask ALINE to feature the group or add a nonprofit badge, and link chapters to a master group.
Joining speed networking from the room's QR code takes fewer taps, and you can say who you want to meet right there so your rounds match better. Rooms now show where they meet.
Your goal sits at the top of Discovery. Change it there and your matches update to fit. Group search puts the group you named first.
Tapping an announcement notification opens the post. If you leave signup partway through, you pick up where you left off.
2.19.964 Oct 15
Lost track of someone great you saw nearby? Strong matches who were in your area and then left now stay findable under "Recently in your area" for up to a week. Switch between the last 24 hours, 48 hours or week.
Also new:
- Match percentages on Discovery stay put as people walk away, and both of you see the same number.
- Team up live at events: you're placed on a team as you arrive, and can leave or rejoin with one tap.
- At speed networking you can sit out the next round, and leaving stays left.
- Pitch competitions can have judges who pick a top 5.
- Your pitches now show on your profile, with any placement you earned.
- Organizers can send event applications straight to their own Google Sheet.
Fixed:
- Team and judging notifications open the right card.
- Group search shows each group's own description.
- Plus fixes throughout.
2.19.912 Oct 11
- Every group now shares one link: its own custom URL. Open a private group's link and you'll see what the group is before you ask to join. For an invite-only group, the link asks for an invite code instead of offering a request that can't go through.
- Joining a group no longer asks for a group goal. You're matched on your profile goal unless you add a different one for that group.
- Pitch competitions: tap any entrant to see their profile, and member videos play the moment you tap them. A group's one-line summary now shows on the group page.
- Messages: voice notes ask for the microphone first and keep your recording if sending fails. Read receipts now work with people on Android and in long threads, and chat search is easier to read in light mode.
- Signing up without LinkedIn now takes one question, "What do you do?", instead of two.
- Privacy: fields you hide now stay hidden from your connections too, including in Messages, Connections and notifications.
- Typing and scrolling are faster in Connections and Discovery, even with a lot of connections. Plus clearer confirmations and fixes throughout.
2.19.902 Oct 10
- Suggest an event to any group you're in, and its admins can approve it in a tap. Share a group or event link and you'll hear when someone joins through it.
- Events show their time zone, spotlighted events sit at the top of My groups, and your events list now says "Not going" when you can't make it. Tap an address to open it in Maps, and invite friends to any public group you're in.
- Hosts can read their event report in the app and export it.
- Speed networking is smoother: rounds start faster, locking your phone no longer drops you, round alerts break through Focus, and the end screen turns your new Lines into conversations. The guided tour now looks like the real room, recap included.
- Long-press a conversation to read it without opening it, upload an intro video you already have, choose who sees each document you upload, and share a personal link with your name in it. Your referral code now shows on your profile.
- Privacy: Alerts & privacy is simpler, the Bluetooth switch only controls Bluetooth, trips are shared only with people allowed to see them, and fields you hide stay hidden.
- A fresh green app icon, plus performance and reliability fixes throughout.
2.19.863 Oct 7
- Events are easier to find: every group's upcoming events are visible to everyone, an "Upcoming events" rail sits at the top of Groups > Discover, and a group's Spotlight shows its next event. Members-only events say so before you tap.
- Planning a trip? Browse your destination's people before you go. Dragging the travel map now renames your destination, and the Discovery travel banner shows your upcoming trip.
- Speed networking: arrive and join in one tap, hear a sound as each round ends, record your recap when "1 minute left" comes up, and have your Lines made for you. Afterward, see how well you matched with everyone who was there, best fits first. If someone steps away, they're paused so their next partner isn't left waiting.
- Recaps: keep a recap private, and recaps are saved to the right person. You're no longer asked to add a recap or confirm a meeting for people you already knew.
- Messages: mark a conversation as read from the list, filter by industry using broad sectors, and both people can react to the same message. Notifications read more naturally and say what was sent.
- Blocking someone now stops their messages, notifications and meet-up plans.
- Profiles: "Looking for" and "What I offer" chips now match what people actually wrote, profile photos show large and sharp again, and your discovery card preview shows your badges.
- Your location shows up in seconds on a fresh install, LinkedIn import no longer gives up on slow profiles, and videos no longer start playing on their own when you come back to the app.
- Group covers load quickly and reliably, and adding a group's address is a simple search.
- Read our updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy right in the app, with clear notices before location access, ID verification and recording.
- Performance and reliability fixes throughout.
2.19.784 Oct 1
- Event reminders: hosts can send one a day before and one an hour before, and a "Still coming?" card lets you give up your spot in one tap. Checking people in at the door is quicker, with no pop-up after each name.
- Speed networking has a short tour, a Take a break button, and a reminder to turn on notifications so you never miss a round.
- A new guided tour shows you around ALINE, and group admins get organizer guides.
- Tapping a "Did you meet?" reminder opens the question right away, even for someone you haven't connected with yet.
- Say who invited you to ALINE by picking them from your connections. The Profile tab shows how many unread notifications you have.
- Documents and your calendar link now wait in the message box, so you can check them before anything sends.
- Intro videos play the moment you tap, and the preview matches the video when it starts.
- Industries and roles you add keep the capitals you typed, and industries show their proper names in filters and search.
- A clearer Terms screen, and a Settings switch to choose whether to share usage analytics.
- Performance and reliability fixes throughout.
2.19.716 Sep 25
- Sending a photo or video in chat now works like texting: the pick lands in the message box with a thumbnail first, so you can add a caption or swap it before anything goes out.
- The "Did you meet?" reminder names the event you were both checked into instead of the nearest storefront.
- A profile now shows the same match percentage as the Discovery card you tapped to open it.
- Discovery, profiles and groups are tidier; travel keeps your trip active when you switch between Home and Destination; empty message lists explain why and offer a way forward.
- Performance and reliability fixes throughout.

peed Networking, refined
Organizers can require in-room check-in, so rounds only pair people who actually showed up.
Revisit who you met at an event — a "who was here" list you can open weeks later.
The recap prompt shows for every round, event alerts appear in-app whatever your notification settings, and a room nobody starts closes itself.
The live event banner no longer covers the group's Members button.
Groups & events
Spotlight a group at the very top of Discover for everyone.
Hand a volunteer the event door (check-in, tickets, registrations) without full group-admin access.
Hosts can remove attendees, and RSVP cancellations notify the people who need to know.
The Registrations screen shows how many have checked in.
Discovery & travel
See people around you while traveling without ending your trip.
Founders no longer show up as "New" people in your feed.
Messages & profile
Peek at a message without instantly marking it read.

Speed networking now takes one tap to join — no separate check-in step — and organizers can add a conversation prompt to get people talking, right alongside the event's other tools.
Events do more: see who's going and open their profiles, search the guest list, and register through a link that hands you a QR ticket to check in with at the door. Hosts can add attendees and check people in.
Groups are tidier — pin your favorites to the top, land straight on My groups, write longer descriptions, and follow an invite link to the group itself instead of a blank page.
Your whole network is in reach: Connections loads every one of your connections with no limit, and "Why you two" now opens every person and group behind "+N more."
Your upcoming trip now shows on your Travel card, where you can edit it.
Performance improvements and bug fixes throughout.
2.19.587 Sep 10
- Notifications are now simple On/Off switches per category, and we retired the notifications that weren't worth a buzz.
- When someone new looks at your profile, you'll see who it was, and tapping opens their profile.
- Looking For tags on Connections cards now show in green, matching What I Offer.
- Group members can see their group's events again, and several profile sections that could stay blank now load every time.
- Identity verification on Android now opens correctly, and documents on other people's profiles are visible.
- Performance improvements and bug fixes throughout.
2.19.553 Sep 7
- Events now ask "Are you going?" with Going, Maybe and Can't go, and you can change your answer any time.
- Sort Discovery by Most Lines to see who's been vouched for meeting in real life. Sort options live in one dropdown, with a "What's a Line?" explainer.
- Search shows the person you named first on Connections, Lines, Pending and Messages.
- "Message first" is back as a communication preference and shows on your Discovery card.
- Your own intro now sits last in Intros, and card section labels are easier to read.

- Event hosts can add attendees directly, and all Activation Tools now live on the group with a per-event picker.
- Group albums open expanded, and event details show the start time once.
- "Did you meet...?" notifications open reliably, and describe where you were more accurately.
- Leaderboard bonus designations are now called VIPs.
- Performance improvements and bug fixes throughout.
