Also new - Send a trip as a magazine-style PDF: long-press it and choose Send as PDF. A cover, the route on a map, every day with its photos, and before you go the usual weather, the plugs, the money and the time difference - Tap a card to read it in full; the pencil is there when you want to change it - Next to Add at the bottom of the board, two new buttons: log an expense or write a note in seconds. Notes are yellow and can carry files - Every Apple Pay payment you make during a trip can land in Expenses on its own, with a Shortcuts automation. Someday Some places you find long before you know when you'll go. Someday is a tab of its own for them: search a place, long-press the map, or tap anything Apple Maps shows, and it is saved with its photo and its country. When you plan a trip to that city, they are waiting in it. Also new - Settings moves off the tab bar into a profile button, so the bar is four places: Trips, My Spots, Someday and Guides - The packing list opens with the trip's own brief: the weather you are packing for and the plugs you will need - Five road-trip guides: the Douro, Kerry, Provence, Sicily and Andalusia's White Villages - My Spots reads your whole photo library for places, and shows the year you were there

Your travel life My Spots opens onto your travel life. Pull the sheet up and the map hands you the countries you have been to as a medal, the years you traveled them, and every place inside each one. The medal turns over for the detail, and a pull down from it puts the sheet back where it was. The same screen is on iPad, in the panel beside the globe. Each country you have visited is stamped on the map with its flag, once it fills enough of the screen to carry one. A better way to add a card The "+" in the add bar opens a real sheet. All 32 kinds of card are in it at once, in their own colors, six to a row, instead of four tiles and a button that opened a form. Behind Camera, Photos and Files sit the last twelve pictures on your phone, one tap from being a card, and nothing asks for your photo library until you ask it to. Five kinds that were wearing the wrong color now match the family they belong to. Smaller things - The home screen widget opens the day it is showing, not the trip list - The add bar closes when you cancel a picker instead of hanging around - Date pickers offer a trip's first day again - A boarding pass photo reads correctly when the passport zone is printed in lower case - The day scrolls without redrawing itself, and a long layover title fits - Polish across the map, the day, the home cards, the editors and the widget

Plan a trip together: invite the people you're traveling with, and build the same itinerary side by side. NEW • Share trip: invite people by the address they use for iCloud, and choose who can edit and who can only view. Everyone sees the same days and cards — your Packing, Documents and Expenses stay private. • Documents, rebuilt: scan a passport or ID with the system scanner and Trovelo reads the name, number and expiry date for you, right on your iPhone. FIXED Trips no longer shift a day in New Zealand, Fiji or Samoa. Round-trip tickets keep the return flight and every stop. Optimize no longer starts your day at a hotel you haven't reached yet. Expense percentages add up, and the spending chart is visible in dark mode.

If you set dinner at 10:00 PM, it stays 10:00 PM whether you're home or already at your destination. • Set a default way to get around for each trip — public transport, walking, or driving — instead of changing every leg by hand. Set it once in the trip's settings (and app-wide in Settings). • Longer travel times now read as hours and days ("15 h 5 min", "1 d 2 h") instead of a giant minute count. • Bug fix - Smarter trip dates: typing something like "Aug 1 to Aug 4" now creates the right dates instead of a full week.
