Positions: Desk Habits
Health & Fitness

Positions helps desk workers build movement habits that stick. Whether you're at a standing desk, sitting, or on a walking pad, Positions guides you through research-backed exercises tailored to your setup — and reminds you when it's time to switch things up.
HOW IT WORKS
• Choose your positions — standing, sitting, tall sitting, walking pad, balance pad, tiptoe stand, hands & wrists, and more
• Browse 70+ exercises organized by position, each with descriptions and many with video demos
• Get smart reminders that mention specific exercises from your stack — not generic "time to move" alerts
• Track your daily progress, build streaks, and see your completion percentage grow
BUILT FOR DESK WORKERS
Positions was designed specifically for people who spend their day at a desk. Every exercise is tagged by body region (neck, shoulders, back, hips, legs, hands) and rated for desk-friendliness, so you can do most of them without leaving your workspace.
SMART NOTIFICATIONS
Unlike generic reminder apps, Positions reads your actual exercise stack and sends contextual reminders:
→ "Time to move! Try some Pelvic tilts"
→ "Switch to Standing — how about Wall slides?"
→ "Squat break! Do some Standing desk squats"
→ "20-20-20 Eye Break — look away for 20 seconds"
When you've completed all your exercises for the day, it celebrates with you.
PROFILES & SCHEDULING
Create multiple profiles (Office, Home, Travel) with different exercise stacks for each. Set a weekly schedule to auto-switch profiles by day — office exercises on weekdays, home routines on weekends.
RESEARCH-BACKED
Many exercises include research references so you know why each movement matters. From the 20-20-20 eye rule to thoracic extension for posture — every recommendation has a reason.

more Your home screen just got a lot more useful.
Widgets are here - your position timer ring, streak, and one-tap position switches in three sizes, plus a checklist on the large widget so you can check off today's exercises without opening the app.
Say "I'm standing in Positions" to Siri to log a switch, or "I just did wrist circles in Positions" to check off an exercise.
New Rhythm settings let you pick your sitting cap (30/45/60 min), your daily switch target, and when the lock-screen Sleep button appears.
Also fixed: "I'm up" on the lock screen now resumes tracking reliably after a night of sleep mode.
1.7.0 Jul 21
Sleep mode, fixed - Tapping "I'm up" now brings your Live Activity right back to your position with a fresh timer, instead of dismissing it for the night.
Plus small stability and polish improvements throughout.
1.6.9 Jul 11
Sleep mode on your lock screen - After 8pm a Sleep button joins your Live Activity. Tap it to pause tracking for the night (no move reminders, no timer), then tap "I'm up" in the morning. Your sleep shows up in Analytics alongside your positions.
A cleaner Live Activity - The card now carries "Move by" right in the header, with your switch buttons on their own full-width row and roomier padding so nothing crowds the edges.
Sleep in Analytics - See last night's sleep and your 7-night average, tracked automatically from sleep mode.
Tidier home screen - Your exercises now sit in their own clean cards, and the copy across the app reads more naturally.
Fit and finish - Small wording polish throughout, and position names in the day's story no longer get cut off.
1.6.8 Jul 9
A live view of your position, right on your lock screen — the Live Activity got a full redesign: see your current position, a live timer since your last switch, and a progress bar that fills toward your 45-minute sit cap.
Switch without opening the app - New Tall sit and Stand buttons directly on the lock screen and Dynamic Island log your position switch in one tap (iOS 17+).
One card, not three - Fixed a bug where several Live Activity cards could pile up on the lock screen at the same time.
Your day, as a story - The home screen now shows what each position did for your body ("Standing — loads hips, knees & ankles"), and switching positions instantly pulls up that position's exercises for one-tap check-offs. Less digging, more moving.
Notifications, your way - New Notification pace setting (hourly / every 2 hrs / every 3 hrs) sends at most one nudge at a time, rotating through your reminder types. Reminder windows now respect their minutes too — an 8:30 start means 8:30, not 8:00.
Redeem a code - Have a promo or referral code? Redeem it in Settings → Subscription → "Redeem a code" to unlock Positions Pro.
Fit and finish - The keyboard no longer covers name fields, exercise Details no longer crash, settings buttons respond instantly, and "people use this" counts on Featured Stacks are now accurate.
1.6.6 Jul 5
Sign in faster - Two new ways in: get a one-time sign-in code by email (no password to remember), or use Sign in with Apple for a one-tap login. Email and password still work too.
Edit your mantra comfortably - Tapping your mantra on the home screen now opens a proper editor where you can see the whole thing across multiple lines as you type, instead of a cramped single line.
Importing a stack is easier to type - When you create a new profile while importing a shared stack, the name field stays visible above the keyboard, so you can see what you're typing.
More accessible - Charts, the position-balance bar, day pickers, reminders, and the onboarding steps now read their values to VoiceOver and other assistive tools, with clearer labels throughout.
Fairer stack stats - Re-opening a stack you've already added no longer inflates its "copies" count.
Stability and polish - Restore Purchases now reliably finds an active subscription, and various smaller fixes.
1.6.5 Jun 28
Position switches now sync between web and iPhone - Your active position changes log on every device, so the analytics dashboard matches no matter where you tap "I'm sitting now" or "Standing." Completed habits already synced; now your daily story does too.
Library filters redesigned - Three collapsible sections instead of a cluttered row: Position, Difficulty, and Featured stacks. Web and iPhone now match exactly. Featured stacks gets its own section header you expand when you want to browse curated routines, and collapses back out of the way when you don't.
Share imports are clearer - When you import a stack you already have, the app tells you "All already in your stack" instead of the misleading "Added 0 new exercises." Importing into a brand-new profile drops you on that profile's home screen instead of bouncing through the landing page. And the "Create new profile" option is now visible upfront in the picker.
Sync on resume - The app pulls fresh cloud state every time it comes back to the foreground from background, so a change made on your laptop appears on your phone the instant you switch apps. No more force-quit to re-sync.
Stability - Internal updater pinned to the version this build was tested against, so future over-the-air updates land reliably.
1.6.3 May 29
Position switches now sync between web and iPhone - The biggest sync gap is closed. Your active position changes log on every device, so the analytics dashboard finally matches no matter where you tap "I'm sitting now" or "Standing." Completed habits already synced; now your daily story does too.
Library filters redesigned - Three collapsible sections instead of a cluttered row: Position, Difficulty, and Featured stacks. Web and iPhone now match exactly. Featured stacks gets its own section header you expand when you want to browse curated routines, and collapses back out of the way when you don't.
Share import is easier to find - When importing a shared stack, the "Create new profile" option leads the row and the picker wraps instead of scrolling horizontally. No more hunting past your existing profiles to make a fresh one.
Sync on resume - The app pulls fresh cloud state every time it comes back to the foreground from background, so a change made on your laptop appears on your phone the instant you switch apps. No more force-quit to re-sync.
1.6.2 May 28
Over-the-air updates now actually reach you - The previous build had a misconfigured update channel that silently dropped patches. Fixed for good. Future bug fixes and improvements ship within minutes of being ready, no more App Store wait for small things.
Featured stacks in your Library - A new "Featured stacks" section at the top of the Library shows curated exercise routines from the community. Tap a card to preview the exercises and add them to your profile (or create a fresh profile from the stack).
Cleaner onboarding times - When you set custom active hours, the picker now shows "9:00 AM - 5:00 PM" instead of "09:00 - 17:00", matching the rest of the app. Auto-placed reminders now land on tidy :00 or :30 marks instead of random minutes like 13:48 or 15:24.
Share page shows individual exercises - When you receive a shared stack on iPhone, the share screen now lists every exercise in the stack, not just the position summary. Same view as on web.
Smoother boot on flaky networks - Bundles all the iOS-Simulator and bad-LTE fixes from the last build: the app falls through to local data within a few seconds if the database is unreachable, instead of hanging on a loading spinner.
1.6.1 May 27
Onboarding loop fix - Signed-in users on iOS were sometimes bounced back to onboarding every time the app opened. Fixed the data-shape mismatch in cloud sync that caused it.
Cross-platform sync hardening - Mantra, quote preference, and onboarding state now stay consistent whether you set them on iOS or web. A stuck network can no longer overwrite the data you just typed.
Live updates now work - This build wires up the over-the-air update system so future patches and bug fixes can reach you within a day, no App Store wait needed.
Settings polish - Position-switch reminders now seed at clean :00 times (no more 12:06 or 13:48). Custom active-hours picker in onboarding uses the same 12-hour AM/PM wheel as the rest of the app.
Dark-mode brush icons - Position, profile, reminder, and body-region icons now stay legible on dark chips and backgrounds.
Faster boot on flaky networks - If Supabase is unreachable, the app no longer hangs on a loading spinner; it falls back to local data and you can keep using it.
1.6.0 May 27
UI Improvements:
Position reminders follow your profile - Set "stand" to 11 AM at the Office and 9 AM at Home. The profile schedule owns the days, each reminder owns its time. Same position, different cadence per profile - no more conflicting day pickers.
Day-at-a-glance pills - Every reminder section now shows a 7-segment day pill with the active profile chip in front. See which days your Office or Home profile is firing on without opening the schedule editor.
Smoother time picker - Single continuous 24-hour wheel ("12 AM, 1 AM, ..., 11 PM") replaces the old 12-hour wheel + AM/PM toggle. One smooth scroll across the whole day.
Dark mode brush icons - Position, profile, reminder, and body-region brush icons now stay legible on dark backgrounds. Tinted to your theme automatically.
Bug fixes - Profile icons in the picker no longer blend into dark backgrounds. Position reminder defaults respect your profile's scheduled days instead of forcing weekdays, so reminders on a weekend-only profile no longer silently fail to fire.
1.5.0 May 26
- New sumi-e icon + warm cream / sage palette across the app.
- Onboarding now tailors your stack to a postural archetype (Desk Focus, On Your Feet, Always Moving, Behind the Wheel, Arms Up, or Mixed Days).
- Analytics leads with a Position Switch Story: how often you change positions across the day, your daily target, and a 7-day trend.
- Movement-gap suggestions on Analytics — the app spots which body regions are missing active flexion / extension / rotation and recommends exercises to fill the gap.
- New "I'm here now" position-switch pill on Home — tap to log your current posture; the story uses it instantly.
- Inline "Add your own habit" row under each position — no modal.
- New profile icons for Home, Briefcase, Office, Coffee, and Meditation.
- Streak became a sage leaf flow instead of a flame.
- 7-day free trial of Pro for new subscribers — heatmaps, week-over-week trends, body-region coverage, and habit suggestions.
1.4.0 May 25
Dark mode - Choose Light, Dark, or System in the new Appearance setting. Every screen follows your preference.

Notification fixes - Profile schedule changes now immediately update all position and hourly reminder notifications. Toggling reminders on/off and editing times correctly reschedules notifications.
1.3.0 May 5
Fixed an issue where hourly reminders and position switch notifications ignored your profile schedule. If you set a profile for specific days (e.g. Home on Sun-Tues), all reminders now automatically update to fire only on those days. Settings labels reflect the effective schedule.
1.2.0 Apr 21
Fixed an issue where hourly reminders and position switch notifications ignored your profile schedule. If you set a profile for specific days (e.g. Home on Sun-Tues), notifications now only fire on those days instead of defaulting to weekdays. Settings labels also reflect the effective schedule.
1.1.1 Apr 15
New Features and Bug Fixes:
Share your stacks - Tap the share icon on any position or your full stack to send a link. Recipients can import your exercises directly into their profiles.
Smarter notifications - Reminders now respect your profile schedule days. Set a profile for Sun-Tues and notifications only fire on those days, not every weekday.
Schedule setup nudge - A helpful prompt guides you to customize your reminder times and work schedule after your first day.
Remove exercises - Tap the green checkmark in the Library to remove an exercise, or use the X icon on the Home screen.
Fewer notifications toggle in onboarding - Choose between one rotating notification per hour or individual pings right when you set up the app.
1.1.0 Apr 13
- Onboarding now lets you choose between fewer notifications (one rotating ping per hour) or a notification per
reminder type when you first set up the app
- New tip in onboarding pointing you to Settings for customizing position reminder times, work schedule, and hourly
notifications
- Smarter notification scheduling: position switches and hourly reminders no longer stack at the same minute, and
"fewer notifications" mode now respects your position reminders too
- Fixed the "Position" header alignment in the Positions Library
1.0.1 Apr 11
Your home screen just got a lot more useful.
