JoinMeal helps students order together, split delivery fees, meet offer minimums and coordinate campus pickup in one place.
Currently available only to students at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), our first supported campus. More university campuses are planned; other campuses are not supported yet.
Find a group that is already ordering from the restaurant you want, add your items before the cutoff, and share the delivery fee with the group.
HOW IT WORKS
1. For the current HKUST launch, sign in with your HKUST email.
2. Browse the groups that are open right now. Filter by pickup point, restaurant, delivery platform or meal time.
3. Add your items before the cutoff and chat with the group while the host places the order.
4. Meet at the pickup point. Pay your host directly, in cash or by transfer.
WHY STUDENTS USE IT
• Share delivery costs across the group instead of covering the whole fee yourself.
• Reach the minimum together. Combining food orders can help your group meet a restaurant's minimum spend.
• Get closer to the deal. The group goal bar shows your combined food total against the host's target. A larger order can help meet a coupon or free-delivery threshold, subject to the offer's terms.
• Campus pickup points at HKUST, our launch campus: UG Halls I to IX, UA Towers, LSK Business Building, CYT, JC iVillage, HKJC Atrium, Shaw Auditorium and more, each with a campus map link.
• Restaurants near our launch campus: discover places in Hang Hau, Tseung Kwan O and Clear Water Bay, plus campus canteens.
• Know who you are ordering with — hosts earn a star rating and a Reliable Host badge from real completed orders, so you can see who follows through before you join.
• Live group chat — sort out spice levels, sauces and pickup timing in one place instead of a sprawling WhatsApp thread.
• Track everything — My Orders shows what you ordered, your total and each group's current status.
• English, 繁體中文 and 简体中文, switchable in the app.
HOSTING A GROUP
Post a group in under a minute: choose the restaurant, the pickup point and the cutoff time. JoinMeal gathers everyone's items into a single list, shows a running total against your target, and keeps the group updated as you place the order, collect it and hand it out. Host tools cover reminders, order and delivery proof, and transferring the group if your plans change.
MADE FOR UNIVERSITY COMMUNITIES
JoinMeal is starting with HKUST, with more university campuses planned. University email verification, reporting, blocking and a no-show record help keep the community accountable. Hosts and joiners can rate each other after completed orders.
JoinMeal does not process payments and does not take a commission. You pay your host directly, exactly as you would if you had all chipped in around a table.
