BETTER ROUTE DATA The Camino Aragonés now follows its real line through Jaca, Arrés, Ruesta, Sangüesa and Monreal to Puente la Reina, 860 km to Santiago. The Camino del Este now follows the waymarked Camino del Ebro from Tortosa through Gandesa, Fabara and Caspe to Zaragoza, then on to Logroño. Stages, maps and elevation profiles all agree at 1,208 km, and the guide says where the waymarking is sparse. MORE OF THE APP IN YOUR LANGUAGE Screen titles and buttons now appear in German, Spanish and Italian, along with the full Camino del Este guide. FIXES Sharing your journey with family and friends works again. Encouragement from home now appears the moment you tap the notification, and stays with the walk it was sent during. Each finished walk keeps the messages you received along it. Removing a photo or deleting a place you added now works properly. We have also tightened the security around notifications, feedback and your account data. Buen Camino!

JOURNEY SHARING The people at home worry. Now they do not have to. Invite family and friends to follow your Camino through a private link, sent straight to them. They can see how far you walked today, where you stopped for the night, and the photos you took on the way. When you finish a stage, the people who care about you know you are safe, without you having to find signal and send a message. Each person gets their own link. Nothing is public, nothing is searchable, and you can remove anyone at any moment. You decide whether someone follows a single Camino or every Camino you walk. They can write back, too. Encouragement from home is waiting on your screen next time you open the app. FULLY TRANSLATED Spanish, Italian and German, all the way through. Every route, every stage, every albergue detail. Switch language inside the app, no iOS settings required. APPLE HEALTH Your walking distance now shows on the home screen even when GPS is off. Finish a stage and it saves to Health as a hike, complete with your GPS route. HOME SCREEN WIDGET Distance walked and tomorrow's stage at a glance, without opening the app. OFFLINE MAPS Download map tiles for your route before you fly. The Pyrenees, O Cebreiro and the Meseta stay on screen with no signal at all. TRAIL BULLETIN BOARD Post a short report for pilgrims near you. Closed albergue, dry fountain, flooded path. It lasts 48 hours, then it is gone. CAMINO DEL ESTE A new route joins the guide, from Valencia through Zaragoza to meet the Frances. ALBERGUE DETAILS Beds, dorm and private room prices, meals, laundry, opening dates, and the hospitalero's name. Plus WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram where they have them. FINISHING RECAP Complete a Camino and get a shareable card with your distance, days on the trail, sellos collected and moments saved. MESSAGES AND CHECK-INS Message a friend straight from their profile. See where friends check in each night. STAGE CARDS Three day weather for the stage ahead and a properly labelled elevation profile, so you know what tomorrow costs before you commit to it. FIXES Feed photos keep their proper shape instead of being squashed. Reply without leaving the feed. Tapping a post on a pilgrim's profile now opens it. Plus a long list of smaller repairs. SHARE YOUR JOURNEY For pilgrims walking alone, this is the most important thing we've added. You can now invite family and friends to follow your Camino in real time - just enter their name and email, and they get a private link delivered to their inbox. No app required on their end. They see your live location on a map, how far you've walked, and your route so far. The people who care about you always know where you are on the trail. Your location stays private. Every link is sent to a specific person and must be verified by email before they can see anything. Links can't be forwarded or shared. You choose exactly who has access, and you can revoke anyone at any time - instantly, from your Privacy settings. TOMORROW'S WEATHER ON YOUR NEXT STAGE Your stage card now shows a one-day forecast for the start of your next section. Helpful when you're deciding whether to take a rest day or get moving early. NEW ICON Fresh look, same app. We also fixed several issues on the journey tracking page that your contacts see: walk replay, timestamps, and photos now all display correctly.

This update has been a while coming. WeCamino now speaks German. That makes four languages, and it's more than a translation. Every stage name, every prompt, every tiny label was written the way a German pilgrim would actually say it on the Camino. Formal "Sie" had no place here, so the whole app talks to you as "du" throughout. To switch languages, go to Settings and tap Language. No need to touch your iOS system settings. Also new: a home screen widget. Add the medium widget and you'll see your route name, total distance walked, and tomorrow's stage at a glance. Useful when you're sitting in an albergue wondering how far the next day actually is. You can find What's New anytime in Settings, so you're never left wondering what changed after an update. Version 1.7 SPANISH AND ITALIAN WeCamino started as an English-only app, which was fine until we started hearing from pilgrims who wanted to walk with it but couldn't read half the screen. This version fixes that. Every route is now fully translated into Spanish and Italian - the route descriptions, every stage, all the highlights, distances, difficulty ratings, and the app interface itself. If your device is set to Spanish or Italian, WeCamino is too. Eight routes. Hundreds of stages. All of it. --- MESSAGE FRIENDS ON THE WAY The Camino has a way of putting the right people in your path at the right moment. But then you reach Santiago, everyone scatters, and the only way to stay in touch is hoping you remembered to swap numbers at the albergue. You can now message friends directly from their profile in WeCamino. Tap Message, write something, send it. They get a notification. No third-party apps, no searching for someone in your contacts, no "wait, what was their last name again." It works whether they're still walking or already home. --- SEE WHERE FRIENDS ARE STAYING When a friend checks in to an albergue, their profile now shows it - the name of the place, where it is, and a way to get there. Useful if you're trying to catch up to someone. v1.6 brings three things pilgrims asked for. HOME SCREEN WIDGET A new medium widget keeps your Camino visible without opening the app. It shows your journey dashboard with tomorrow's stage, elevation profile, and a live community photo from the trail - refreshed every hour with a recent post from fellow pilgrims. PILGRIM JOURNAL A daily journal that writes itself first, then waits for your words. When you tap Write Today's Entry, WeCamino automatically fills in your distance, weather, sellos collected, photos taken, and tonight's albergue. You add the part only you can write. Find it in your Profile tab. SMARTER GPS WeCamino now knows the difference between walking and riding. GPS points captured above jogging speed (bus, taxi, car) no longer inflate your total distance or appear in your route track. Your kilometres are honest now. DID YOU KNOW? Over the coming weeks, short tips will arrive showing features you might have missed - widgets, the live map, digital sellos, leaderboards, and more. Each one links straight to the feature. A Tomorrow's Stage card on the home screen shows you tomorrow's terrain - distance, elevation gain, and a chart of the climb ahead. Tap any stage in Route Detail for the full profile across all 8 routes. SHARE YOUR JOURNEY One tap generates a shareable stats card with your distance, your route, and a photo from the Way. For every pilgrim who keeps getting asked "how far have you walked?" MESSAGE FROM PROFILE See someone interesting on the map or in the community? Message them directly from their pilgrim profile - no hunting through inboxes.

MY OWN CAMINO Start walking from wherever you are. GPS traces your exact path as you go, and your route appears live on the map. No fixed waypoints - just you, the trail, and your own Camino. STAMP/SELLO COLLECTION Stamp your digital credential at churches, albergues, and landmarks as you walk. Your sellos build into a record of your journey, shareable with fellow pilgrims. OFFLINE READY Signal on the Camino is unpredictable. WeCamino now works without it - GPS tracking, sello stamping, and your feed all function offline and sync when you're back in range. Version 1.2 is the biggest update since launch. GPS TRACKING Your walk is tracked in real time with a live map showing your progress. Distance and your route are recorded automatically as you move. MY OWN CAMINO Not walking a named route? My Own Camino lets you track any path as your pilgrimage, whether that's a local trail, a new route, or something entirely your own. FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD? A proper password reset flow is now in place. Tap "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen, check your email, and you're back on the trail in seconds. Tap any photo in the feed to open it full screen. Swipe through all the images in a post and save the ones you love straight to your Camera Roll - perfect for those sunrise shots over the meseta. The Places tab now loads instantly and refreshes quietly in the background, so you're never waiting for the list to appear. Pilgrim profiles are easier to read with improved contrast across all backgrounds. A handful of small fixes clean up bio formatting, sign-in, and route pricing displays. Buen Camino!
