The AI is bounded to the page you're on — ask about something further along and it politely deflects until you get there. The new For You page generates eight personalised book picks with a one-sentence reason for each ("you'll like this because you 5 star's X"). Save any of them straight to your TBR with one tap. And Reports → Overview now opens with a Weekly Insights card — three to five short narrative notes about your reading week (pace, genres, streaks, time of day), generated automatically every Monday. Fixes: logout now properly signs you out of Google so the app stays logged out after you kill and reopen; and the login screen stops sliding under the Dynamic Island when scrolled.

We've polished readability across the app and added new ways to manage your library. Better contrast everywhere. Action chips, filter headers, and your Profile → Settings list are now clearly readable across all 16 seasonal themes — on both light and dark palettes. Tab labels in Reading Reports, Buddy Reads, and Friends / Following stay legible on every dark theme too. Complete library filtering. The filter autocomplete now shows every author, genre, and series in your library. Larger collections are no longer cut off. Mark books as 18+ / Mature on iOS. You can now set the Mature marker directly in the book editor, and toggle it for many books at once using bulk edit. Easier bulk editing. Multi-select is now called "Bulk Edit Books" in the Library menu, so it's easier to find. Stop typing titles — scan them. Point your camera at a book's barcode and it lands in your library in seconds, with the cover, authors, page count and publisher filled in for you. Scan many: run down a whole stack of books one after another, review the thumbnails, then add them all at once — about 10 books in under a minute. Smart auto-fill looks every book up against Open Library and Google Books, and a new duplicate warning links you straight to a book you already own instead of adding it twice. Plus three new achievements for scanning fiends: Bookhunter, Librarian and Speed Reader. And the Discover tab gets a "BookTok this week" section with trending books for your region — set or change it under the new Region setting.

READING SESSIONS 2.0 Tap Start on any active reading session and a stopwatch begins ticking — pause it, resume it, stop when you put the book down. The seconds you spent paused stay out of your total, and a hard refresh of the app continues from exactly where the timer was. ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN A banner sits on the Lock Screen for the running timer, complete with the book title, cover, and your streak count. The clock ticks on its own without waking the app, works in iOS 17's StandBy mode, and the Dynamic Island shows a glyph + counter on iPhone 14 Pro and newer. EIGHT SOUNDSCAPES Rain on Glass, Old-Growth Forest, Fireplace, Quiet Café, Ocean Shore, Old Library, Thunderstorm, Silence. Pick one and the loop plays through the screen lock, app switching, and CarPlay. The Now Playing tray shows the pack name with the book title underneath; the Lock Screen and steering wheel controls play, pause, and skip without unlocking. GOALS AND SIX NEW ACHIEVEMENTS Set a daily reading target in minutes. Hit it seven days in a row to earn Streak Keeper. Sit with a book for 30 minutes without pausing for Focused Reader, 90 minutes in a row for Marathon. Start before 7 AM for Dawn Reader, after 10 PM for Night Owl. Hit ten cumulative hours on the timer for Deep Diver. EVERY REALM READS Tab bars across Reports, Book Clubs, Stats Cards and a dozen other screens now wear your active theme — pale cyan on Atlantis Depths, gold on Lunar, crimson on Gothic Twilight. The sidebar's section dividers and icons are readable on every dark palette they previously vanished into. And the version label at the foot of the sidebar finally tracks the build you actually installed. Plus a round of minor UI bug fixes and reliability improvements across Library filters, Currently Reading, the Home dashboard, and Discover.

THE TOME REOPENED The sign-in and registration screens have been rebuilt from the ground up. A parchment "open book" surface, golden corner brackets, a rune medallion at the top, and a two-second portal reveal greet you the moment the screen loads. A NEW BACKDROP FOR EVERY REALM Three drifting aurora orbs, rotating rune circles, and floating particles now sit behind the tome — and they shift colour with whatever theme you wear. Valentine glows in rose. Atlantis Depths drowns in deep teal. Gothic Twilight broods in crimson and gold. All fifteen themes paint the sign-in screen as their own. WELCOME, READER A three-second cutscene plays when you successfully sign in — a veil falls, a ring of light expands, particles burst outward, and the words WELCOME, READER bloom in gold before the app opens. READS BETTER, EVERYWHERE Gold lettering on the parchment themes — Valentine, Lunar, Easter, Sakura Drift, Steampunk Codex and more — was washing out. Now "Welcome back", "Sign the Tome →" and the Enchanted Reads brand title sit on a deeper gold-shadow range and read sharply on every light palette. AND ON YOUR iPad The new layout splits in two on iPad and landscape iPhone: brand on the left, form on the right, with the rune medallion bridging the two pages. YOUR READING INSIGHTS, RESTORED Year in Review now loads the moment you open it — no more pulling to refresh. The "View Your Reading Wrapped" button is back, ready to celebrate your reading year. "Reveal My Personality" works again — let the oracle read your literary soul and reveal the archetype behind your reading habits. Stats Cards generate properly once more, ready to share with friends. SMOOTHER WAITS Both your reading personality and your stats cards are crafted by our enchanted workshop behind the scenes. A new themed loading animation now shows while they're conjured, so you always know the magic is at work. ALSO FIXED Sign Out now works from any screen, not just your profile. iPad sidebar menu items are readable again on the dark seasonal themes — Atlantis Depths, Gothic Twilight, Stardust Realm — and on Halloween and Dark. Library, Community, Friends, and Tools rows no longer disappear into the dark gradient.

FASTER FIXES, FEWER MYSTERIES EnchantedReads now sends anonymous crash and error diagnostics to our error-tracking system whenever something goes wrong. That means we see crashes the moment they happen and can fix them in the very next release — no more silent bugs lurking between updates. WHAT WE DON'T SEND No reading data, no email, no IP address, no screenshots, no view-hierarchy snapshots. Just the technical detail we need to find and fix the bug — the same information already shared via iOS "Share With App Developers."

RELIABLE STREAK CHECK-IN Tapping "Yes, still reading!" on the daily streak modal now goes through reliably. The confirmation refreshes your active reading sessions before submitting, so a stale modal can no longer block you from keeping the flame alive. If confirmation does fail, you'll see the actual reason instead of the generic "Couldn't confirm — please try again." — now you know whether to retry, refresh, or open a book.

CRAFTED REALM The biggest update since the realm welcome — your home screen and your library both gained a lot of room to breathe. READING TIMER WIDGET A new home-screen widget mirrors the Lock Screen reading stopwatch. The cover, title, and elapsed time live on your home screen and tick on their own. Idle when nothing's running, full and warm the moment you start a session. CUSTOMIZE EVERY WIDGET Long-press any Enchanted Reads widget and tap "Edit Widget" to pick from five visual styles — Parchment, Modern, Minimal, Glass, Decorative — and toggle "Match Active Realm" so the accents follow whichever realm the library is currently dressed in. ADD FROM APPLE BOOKS Sharing a book from Apple Books to Enchanted Reads now pulls the real title, author, and cover automatically. The book lands in your library with proper artwork instead of a guessed name. POLISH A round of small fixes across reading session flow, widgets, and theme rotation.
