SourceCanvas is a local workspace for writing, previewing, and exporting visual source. Work with SVG markup, Mermaid diagrams, and Graphviz DOT without sending documents to a remote rendering service.
Write beside the live preview
• Edit SVG, Mermaid, or Graphviz DOT with syntax highlighting, diagnostics, and find and replace
• Open .svg, .mmd, .mermaid, .dot, and .gv files, plus Mermaid and DOT code blocks in Markdown
• Start from templates for SVG, flowcharts, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, and Graphviz
• Learn and build flowcharts, sequence diagrams, class and state diagrams, ER diagrams, Gantt charts, mind maps, timelines, architecture diagrams, and more
• Zoom, pan, fit to screen, switch backgrounds, and collapse the source panel when the preview needs more room
• Save source or export the rendered result as SVG, vector PDF, or PNG 1x/2x/3x
Local and deliberate by design
• SVG, Mermaid, and Graphviz rendering runs on the device
• External SVG resources are blocked by default; enable secure remote resources only when a document needs named HTTPS or local resources
• SourceCanvas does not require an account, include advertising analytics, or upload your documents
MCP Agent on macOS
• Enable the signed local Agent Service from Settings
• Use Configure Installed Agents to register SourceCanvas with ChatGPT desktop/Codex CLI/Codex IDE, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Visual Studio Code, and Gemini CLI
• SourceCanvas may ask for access to a client's configuration folder, changes only the sourcecanvas MCP entry, and keeps a local backup for file-based clients
• AI agents can validate, render, inspect, preview, and export supported diagrams through seven MCP tools, Resources, and Prompts
• MCP traffic stays on the Mac through stdio and the local Agent Service. SourceCanvas does not record host conversations or enable automatic tool approval. The selected AI host's own privacy terms still apply to information you send to that host
The MCP Agent is available on macOS. iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro remain focused document editors and do not expose the local Agent Service.
PlantUML TestFlight participants wanted
• PlantUML support for architecture and sequence diagrams is coming soon. It is not available in the current SourceCanvas 1.5 release. To join the TestFlight preview, contact support@ioncreate.com.
