SpiceCore 2.2.1 opens up the filter, four modes in each slot, and the option to run them side by side, and adds Nocturne, a twelve-preset pack built to show what the instrument has become. • FILTER MODES: each of the two filter slots can now be low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, or notch. A band-pass finds one resonant voice; a notch hollows the middle out and gives movement a vocal quality. The familiar high-pass into low-pass chain remains the default, so every existing sound is unchanged. • PARALLEL ROUTING: run the two filters alongside each other instead of in series and sum them. Low-pass body under band-pass presence: weight and definition at the same time, rather than one after the other. • NOCTURNE: twelve new presets: one after-hours room entered two ways. Five are instruments you play. Seven play themselves — press Run and they develop over minutes. Play over any of them and the harmonic layer answers you. • Fixes and care: twelve factory presets regain the groove curve they were authored with, and the arp's octave range now returns correctly when you load a preset, patterns that should span two or three octaves no longer collapse to one.

SpiceCore 2.2 gives the instrument its space — a per-part mixer feeding a tempo-synced delay and a plate reverb — and a Conductor that shapes the long arc of a performance. • MIXER & EFFECTS — every part gets its own channel: a level knob for the sequencer, arp, Harmonic chords, and your own keys, with a delay send and a reverb send beneath each. Run the pattern dry and upfront, echo the arp, drench the chords — then let Bleed wash the echoes into the tail. The dry voice stays centred; the effects paint the stereo width around it. • DLY AGE & RVB GRAIN — two character knobs wear the effects in. DLY Age turns the echo towards worn tape: repeats wobble, saturate, and darken as they fade. RVB Grain gives the plate its metal, and past the middle a slow shimmer. At zero, both are exactly clean. • THE CONDUCTOR — switch on Cond and the performance breathes: macros lean, parts swell and recede, the space opens and closes over minutes. A thin ribbon shows the breath, with Amount and Rate beside it. The arc grows from the pattern seed, so the same performance returns every Run — and it is saved with the preset. • MIDI CAPTURE — the instrument is always listening. Tap Capture, pick the last 4 to 32 bars, and Share exports a multi-track MIDI file: one track each for the sequencer, arp, Harmonic, and your own playing. • Fixes and care: user presets now keep their modulation routings, the groove curve drawing is now the picker itself, every mixer and effects control is MIDI-learnable, macro CC mappings follow the fader across generator switches, the ArpStep modulation source now sweeps correctly in every arp mode, long patterns at maximum ratchet no longer drop steps, and Panic lets the effect tails ring out naturally.

SpiceCore 2.1 turns one pattern into an ensemble and puts the harmony under your hands — plus deeper musical intelligence in the generative engine. • SOUND PALETTE — load up to four sounds and one pattern plays them all. Notes spread across the palette along a tempo-synced morph: stepped to a pure sound per note, blended between sounds, or stacked together. Tap a slot to mute it live, hold it to shape octave, level, and detune. The whole palette is saved with the preset. • HARMONIC DRIVE — the chord you hold in Harmonic Mode now leads the band. The sequencer voices your chord and the Motion Arp retunes to it in flight; let go and the pattern returns to its own progression. A Scope pad picks the takeover: the whole key, or the chord only. • A SMARTER LINE — chord progressions now run on their own clock (choose the chord length in bars), degree steps voice each chord as it is actually spelt, and mutation settles onto chord tones at the strong beats. • PERFORMANCE FREEZE — save while a chord is latched or the arp pool is locked, and the preset keeps the performance. Load it later and it rings back. • 32 VOICES — an optional higher polyphony cap for dense layered patches. The default stays at 16. • Fixes and care: a note shared by two generators no longer gets cut short, an amber pause mark shows when an external MIDI clock is connected but not started, step edits during playback no longer drop the first step, and the engine runs leaner under the hood.

SpiceCore 2.0 is our biggest release yet: a brand-new way to play, multitimbral sound layers, per-part levels, smarter macros, and a top-to-bottom refresh of the factory bank. Every generator can now carry its own sound and its own level, so a single patch can hold a whole arrangement. • HARMONIC MODE — a new third way to play. Turn the keyboard into a chord surface: one key picks a chord and SpiceCore voices it for you. Three keyboard layouts (Compact, Performer, Arranger), six chord colours, four voicing styles, and a motion engine that strums, pulses, arpeggiates, and evolves. • PLAYS ON TOP, NEVER INTERRUPTS. Harmonic runs as an overlay — lay chords over a sequence or arp that's already moving. Switch Harmonic off and the chords ring out gracefully as the keyboard hands back to the base. • SOUND LAYERS — go multitimbral, yay! Give the Sequencer, Motion Arp, or Harmonic part its very own sound while the pattern and performance settings stay shared. Load a sound into the base or into a single generator's layer, and watch the instrument open up. • SOURCE MIX. Four new knobs in the Amp panel (Seq, Arp, Harm, Keys) balance each part on its own. A pattern can sit politely under your hands, or step out and lead. • PER-GENERATOR MACROS. Mutation, Density, Chaos, and Memory now remember their own values for Sequencer, Motion Arp, and Harmonic. Switch generators and the faders snap to whatever you set there — every mode has its own personality. • A REBORN FACTORY BANK. Every stable factory preset has been rewritten in place to exercise the modern feature palette: mod matrix, OSC FM, ring mod, Timbre macros, Groove Curves, Motion Arp dynamics, and rich velocity / wheel / aftertouch response. SpiceCore 1.1.7 expands the oscillator section with two classic interaction modes — OSC-FM phase modulation and OSC-RING ring modulation — plus reliability and preset improvements. • Oscillator FM phase modulation: a dedicated FM Amount knob phase-modulates OSC 2 with OSC 1, for bells, electric pianos, FM bass, and metallic textures. OSC 1 can drive the FM even at zero level. Route an envelope to FM Amount for percussive bell attacks. • Oscillator RING ring modulation: a new Ring Amount knob adds OSC 1 × OSC 2 as a fifth mix source, sitting alongside OSC 1, OSC 2, Sub, and Noise. Both FM Amount and Ring Amount appear as new mod-matrix destinations. • Audio reliability: fixes for out-of-bounds crashes in the LFO and oscillator processing paths under heavy modulation, and a fix for OSC 2 Fine silencing notes when glide was disabled. OSC 2 pitch now updates live for held notes when Oct/Fine change. • Polish: Sequencer Arp toggle now shows clear on/off state; OscPanel routing glyph and colour tidied for OSC-RING.

SpiceCore 1.1.6 expands your sequences to 32 steps and adds Groove Curves — velocity-shaping patterns that breathe dynamic feel into every bar. • 32-step sequencer: double the canvas. The max step count is now 32 (default stays 16). All lanes, Euclidean rhythms, Markov chains, Cycles, and Play Notes scale up automatically. • Groove Curves: nine curated velocity curves (Straight, Saw, Triangle, Sine, Lift, Pulse, Backbeat, Tresillo, Skip) with an Accent depth knob. Pick a curve, dial in Accent, and the sequencer shapes velocity per step on every pass. Loops over 1–16 pattern cycles. Groove is a mod-matrix source too — route it to any destination. • Audio performance improvementes. Lower CPU across the board, more headroom for 16-voice polyphony on older devices. • Sequencer controls refreshed.

SpiceCore 1.1.5 introduces Cycles: a new way to grow your sequence by giving each parameter its own loop length. • Cycles: turn on the new Cycles toggle in the Rhythm group to give Gate, Velocity, Probability, Ratchet, and Active their own repeat length, independent of the pattern length. Long-press an edit-mode button (Gate, Vel, Prob, Rpt) to choose its cycle length (1–16); tap the centre of the Steps rocker stepper to set the Active cycle. Shorter cycles loop inside the bar and evolve naturally bar-to-bar through Memory, Markov, and Chaos. • First-run Cycles onboarding panel explains the feature the first time you turn it on, then stays out of the way. • New rocker steppers replace sliders across the Sequencer controls. Tap +/− for fine moves, or drag for continuous increment/decrement. • Reliability improvements: real-time audio hardening across the modulation matrix, sequencer, motif engine, and MIDI output path.

SpiceCore 1.1.4 introduces Play Notes: a new way to build your sequence by simply... playing it! • Play Notes: long-press the Sequencer button to enter step-entry mode. Each note you play lands on the next active step. Play several notes together and they spread across consecutive steps automatically, sorted low to high. Hold a note and replay it to correct it in place. Short-press exits and the sequence plays back immediately from step one. • Tap the summary strip below the pattern grid to place the playhead on any step. • Reliability improvements and bug fixes.

SpiceCore 1.1.3 brings smoother live performance and several important improvements. • Seamless preset switching: notes you are already holding continue to sound naturally when you change presets. Only new notes use the new sound. • Performance controls (mod wheel, pitch bend, aftertouch and sustain pedal) continue to work on held notes during preset changes. • Selectable polyphony: choose 8, 12 or 16 voices by long-pressing the POLY/MONO/UNI button. Default is 16 voices. • Optional CPU display: tap the SpiceCore title to show or hide a CPU usage indicator. • New Note Latch button: hold a chord, press Latch, and the notes continue playing until you press Latch again. • Reset is now Panic: clears all active notes and arpeggiator state to eliminate stuck notes. • User presets are now shared automatically between the standalone app and the AUv3 plugin. • Improved text-entry overlays fix touch issues in some AUv3 hosts. • Faster modulation matrix and additional CPU optimisations. • Fixed hanging notes when stopping the sequencer and improved preset switching between Mono and Poly sounds.

SpiceCore 1.1.2 introduces the Berlin 2026 Pack: a curated collection of event-season factory presets and a new Demo Jam Mode for quickly auditioning them, and UI polish from the 1.1 series. The Berlin 2026 Pack is a small collection of event-season sounds, patterns, and generative patches created to celebrate synth week in Berlin. Ten new factory presets span Bass, Lead, Pad, and Sequence categories, with a mix of sequencer-driven jams and Motion Arp performances. A small banner appears in-app through May 10, 2026. Demo Jam Mode gives the Berlin 2026 Pack a dedicated showcase flow. Enables self-running audition immediately, and lets you step through all ten jams. For Motion Arp mode, it starts playing without needing to hold keys, so you can hear each patch in motion right away. Also in this update: MIDI output handling refinements and reset button fix.

SpiceCore 1.1.1 opens up the oscillator section with continuous Shape control and a new Timbre performance layer. The old waveform buttons are now expressive Shape strips. Tap Sine, Triangle, Saw, or Square to land on a classic oscillator tone, or drag between them to find the in-between colours: softened saws, brighter triangles, rounded squares, and hybrid tones that were not available from the four fixed choices. Each oscillator also gets a Contour control. Contour changes the character inside the selected shape: add warmth to sine waves, skew triangles, tilt saws, or narrow square waves into pulse-like tones. It gives the oscillator panel more range without making the instrument harder to use. The macro section now includes a Timbre button. When Timbre is active, the four macro faders shape oscillator colour instead of phrase behaviour. Motion, Density, Chaos, and Memory can sweep Shape, open Contour, add animated variation, or keep a patch drifting around related tones while the sequencer or Motion Arp is running. Shape and Contour can now be modulation destinations too. Long-press them like other controls and route LFOs, envelopes, velocity, aftertouch, randomness, ArpStep, or ArpVelocity into oscillator colour. Live overlays show the sound you are hearing while keeping the saved patch value visible. Ten new factory presets — across Bass, Lead, Sequence, Drone, Texture, and Arp — are included to show what the new controls can do straight away. Also in this update: clearer oscillator labels, improved touch hit areas, calmer MIDI Learn highlights, better active-state colouring across the synth panels, and layout polish in the oscillator section.

Motion Arp is here. Hold a chord and hear it turn into living musical motion — no step pattern required. SpiceCore now has three ways to generate notes. The existing 16-step Sequencer and evolving Mutation engine are joined by **Motion Arp**, a playable chord-motion generator that responds to what you actually play. Hold a triad, choose a motion mode, and the arp traverses your held notes with real musical intent. Change the chord and the arp voice-leads into the new pool smoothly, or restart on the next bar, or carry the contour over — you control the behaviour with the Memory macro. Five motion modes cover different musical characters: Climb, Fall, Pendulum, Order, and Voice-lead. Two rhythm engines give you straight subdivisions with swing and gate, or switch to Motif mode and pick from eight curated musical gestures — from classical Alberti figures to cascading octave runs — each adapting to whatever chord you hold. Six action pads turn the lower button grid into a performance surface: Freeze the current chord, send the pattern home, add a burst of ratchets, invert the chord, spread across octaves, or capture the last 16 arp events straight into the step sequencer for editing. Everything snaps to step boundaries so your gestures land musically, not glitchy. The same four macro controls now retarget for Motion Arp: Mutation adds articulation variation, Density thins the phrase, Chaos opens the door to scale-passing tones, and Memory sets how chord changes behave. Two new modulation sources — ArpStep and ArpVelocity — let you route the arp's position and dynamics into any knob or fader. Six new factory presets in a dedicated Arp category demonstrate the feature from clean utility to expressive pad textures. All Motion Arp settings save with presets and restore inside AUv3 hosts. Existing presets load unchanged — the arp is off by default and never touches your existing sounds.

Performance improvements and a cleaner output stage. This update lowers CPU load across every preset and play style — most noticeable at high polyphony, high resonance, or fast filter modulation — and refines the output-stage peak limiter so resonant patches and dense chords stay cleanly inside the output ceiling without the subtle clicks that could appear on quiet pads and drones when new notes entered the mix. No sound design changes, no new controls. If your patches sounded right in 1.0.9 they sound the same here, just with more headroom on the CPU and cleaner peak handling at the output.

Preset import is smoother. You can now open or share `.slpreset` and `.slsndpack` files directly into SpiceCore from Files, and the app stages and imports them through the normal preset flow. MIDI performance is more expressive too: the modulation matrix `Aftertouch` source now responds to both channel pressure and poly aftertouch. Existing patches that already use `Aftertouch` work without changes. A built-in default MIDI CC map covers the core continuous synth controls right out of the box — MIDI Learn still wins if you've assigned your own CCs. You can now long-press the on-screen keyboard to set the sequencer's root note. The engine has had a quality pass. Voice stealing is now quietest-first, so new notes no longer chop held notes you still care about. Note-on clicks have been eliminated, and MIDI events now render correctly. A per-voice mix headroom cap keeps stacked-source patches cleanly in range. A new subtle three-state LED next to the amp envelope shows when the output stage is idling, limiting, or being pushed hard — the old user-facing output character modes have been consolidated into a single honest calibration.

Hooray! Major AUv3 improvements. Programmable tempo: the sequencer is no longer locked to 120 BPM. A live BPM display and sync source indicator (INT / MIDI / HOST) in the header bar show where your tempo is coming from. Tap the BPM label for tap tempo, or long-press it to type an exact value. Each preset stores its own tempo for groovebox-style recall. Improved AUv3 experience. The sequencer now works reliably when the host transport is stopped: Free mode (default) lets it play immediately on Run, while Sync mode locks it to the host's play/stop: long-press Run to switch. Presets appear in the host's own preset browser, and preset identity (name, edited state) is fully preserved across project save/reload. Parameters like waveform selectors and play mode now show readable labels in Logic Smart Controls. The on-screen keyboard is hidden in AUv3 since the host provides MIDI. Importing a preset that already exists now asks for confirmation instead of silently overwriting.

Fixed a bug that prevented importing presets and sound packs

Fixed a bug where Mono and Unison modes could go silent when pressing a key repeatedly during the release tail. Fixed audible clicks when the Random (S&H) LFO modulates filter cutoff at higher Circuit values. Added a help button in the header bar that opens the online manual. System edge gestures (Home indicator, Control Center) now require a double swipe so they don't interfere with the on-screen keyboard, content now extends to the screen edge. Panel labels (OSC 1/2, HP, LP, LFO 1/2, Sub, Noise, Drive, Circuit, and more) now change color to show whether the component is having an audible effect, gray when inactive, red when active. Taller on-screen keyboard for easier touch play. Improved sequencer controls layout with labeled steppers, visual group dividers, and Key/Scale ordering.
