Hot on the heels of the recent accessibility improvements comes my most-requested feature: It's now easier to see the tiles your opponent just placed. That's it!

This update significantly improves the game’s accessibility for visually-impaired players.

A slew of fixes! Every once in a while, you'd end up with six tiles, not seven, at the start of the game. Or you'd swap tiles on the very first turn of a game, and you'd forfeit the tiles you swapped, but not get the replacement tiles you deserved. Talk about Tile & Error. Yikes. That's fixed now. There are also improvements to the visuals of in-game chat in dark mode, and some layout improvements.

This update offers a couple improvements to the daily puzzle, including quicker ways to see your rank on historical puzzle leaderboards. It also fixes a weird bug that could occur if you beat the computer on the last play of a game. Don't worry about the bug, though. It's been squashed without mercy. Mmm, squash. SQUASH could be worth a lot of points on a quadruple word score.

A trio of obvious fixes, and a slew of under-the-hood fixes. 1. Sometimes, after you won a game, we would accidentally show the score from just BEFORE your final turn in the "finished games" list. That could sometimes even mean showing you LOST when you actually WON. That's NOT GREAT. It calls for RANDOM ALL CAPS WORDS and frustration. But no longer! Because now that issue is fixed. When the game is over, we save the actual game-ending score. Which makes good sense. 2. Zooming the board always felt a little funky. Now it feels GOOD funky, not bad funky. 3. Want to send a tile back to the rack? You can of course use the "Recall" button, or drag tiles down past the bottom of the board. But now you can drag them off the top edge, too. Helpful!

Some issues with tile placement and timestamps are now fixed. Bug fixes are exciting! Not as exciting as playing the word "exciting" on a quadruple word score, but still.

This update addresses a couple quirks with finishing games against humans. (I say "quirks" because that makes me feel less guilty than "bugs.") Quirk the first: Rematches still sometimes reused your last game board. They shouldn't. Quirk the second: Sometimes, finished games vanished, instead of showing up in the Finished Games section, where they belong. It will shock you to your very core to know that this release also includes other bug fixes and improvements.

When you spell a word over a Rainbow Square, sometimes you trigger bonuses that add tiles to the bag. Except in certain cases, we didn't actually ADD those tiles to the bag when you were playing against human opponents. Now — we do! That's better. Various improvements to the in-game chat make the interface better both within chat and when leaving chat and returning to the game board. Tiles now give a slight visual indicator when you’re dragging them off the board to let you know that releasing them will return them to the rack. Sometimes, pressing Recall to recall your tiles to your rack had the disappointing effect of NOT recalling your tiles to your rack. This version fixes that. The app’s badge wasn’t great about counting your number of active turns, if you have such things turned on. It’s better about it now. (Although it only counts games against humans.) Sometimes, replaying a human would show you the exact game board you'd just been using, instead of a new random one. That's improved in this version.

Sometimes, when you launched a rematch, the game would get confused and would start a rematch against... yourself? That's not great. It's fixed. Blank tiles weren't behaving as elegantly as I wanted. That's now improved, too. Tap a blank you just added to the grid, and you can change your blank tile right away.

So many fixes and improvements, so little time! Ties now show correctly on the leaderboard for daily puzzles. The “Last Turn” notice didn’t always show reliably. Now it's as reliable as me being charming in the "What's New" section of my App Store listings. The “Game Over” screen didn’t always show reliably, especially when you revisited a finished game. The app implied you could take another turn in a finished game. That’s fixed. Because, I'm sorry, but you can't take turns in games that are over. That's just wrong. Sometimes, certain Rainbow Squares bonuses could persist across multiple games against the computer. That could be beneficial to your score! But it wasn't right. That’s fixed. Some Rainbow Squares add tiles to the bag. Previously, we refilled your rack and then added those tiles to the bag. Now we do it in the opposite order, so you have a chance of picking up those freshly added tiles as you refill your rack. On rare occasions, a game against the computer could get stuck. Now, it can’t. The computer opponent got a stern talking-to. As you'd expect, as a small-time indie developer, your ratings and reviews are a Big Deal. Please rate the app if you can!
