“This software has changed my life.” — a Claro user
WHY CLINICIANS LOVE CLARO
• All the chat, none of the clutter. Small talk stays out. The clinical detail stays in.
• Your notes, your way. Your templates, your sections, your level of detail.
• Thorough. The detail you'd write if you had all the time in the world.
• The rest writes itself. Clinical letters and aftercare, drafted from the note you signed.
• 99 languages. Consult in Spanish, Portuguese or Mandarin, and your note comes back in English.
• Every screen. Start on your iPhone, finish on your iPad or laptop.
YOU'RE STILL THE CLINICIAN
Claro drafts. You read, edit and sign. Claro doesn't diagnose, and nothing leaves without your say-so.
Free for 30 days or 30 notes, whichever comes first.
more I LOVE my Claro app! I save time and can focus on having a conversation with my patient versus taking notes or hoping to remember the details of what is said. Not only am I saving time but my notes are higher quality than if I had no assistance.

- Record on your Apple Watch: start a consultation from your wrist and your iPhone writes the note.
- Start recording from your watch face, the Action button, or an appointment reminder on your Watch.
- Discarding a recording keeps the note you were recording into, and anything you typed.
- Fixes and improvements.

Claro has a new look: a new icon, new type and a cleaner design. Everything is where you left it.
1.5.0 3d ago
- Finishing a call you started now ends the meeting, so the patient's link can't open an empty room.
- Tap the code at the top of a call to copy the patient's join link.
- After a call, Generate note offers Open as soon as the note is written.
- A recording recovered after a crash keeps the call's patient, and a failed note keeps its recording.
- Discard no longer removes a note you chose to record into.
1.4.6 4d ago
- Hand a task to someone on your team with Assign to…, and see everything you've handed over under Delegated.
- Changes to a task now show in your list straight away.
- Settings has a new Your agreements screen, under Legal: re-read each agreement you accepted, and when you accepted it.
- Help articles now link straight to the screen they describe, and the sign-in screen has a "Forgot password?" link.
- In the US, Claro now uses US terms throughout, such as practice, Analyze and Canceled.
1.4.5 Oct 19
- Patients list: recently seen first, your patients, today's bookings, and an A–Z index.
- Turn off a patient's access, cancel an unused QR code or invite, or remove shared aftercare.
- Signing in is faster, with its progress shown in the button.
- Recordings: one recovered after Claro closes unexpectedly goes back into its own note, and when a call pauses one, the lock screen now says "Paused by a call".
- Aftercare: edit the wording yourself, or have Claro redraft it with a short instruction.
1.4.4 Oct 18
- A patient's timeline shows their history again: notes, photos, medicines, allergies, conditions and consents, day by day. Tap a note or a photo to open it. Before, it could say "No events yet" for a patient with plenty of history.
- If part of a patient's file can't load, Claro now says so and offers to try again. Before, it could show "None recorded" for medicines or allergies that were really there.
- Coming back to a patient's file keeps your place. Pull down to refresh it.
- Tap a treatment area to see its history: what was used, when, and the notes it came from.
- Allergies and conditions you add on iPhone or iPad now show on the web and in what Claro's AI knows about the patient.
- "Show older notes" reaches every note for a patient, not only the latest 20, and the next appointment now finds bookings months ahead.
- Patient photos open edge to edge. The injection map has its own button on the photo, and it no longer lets you save over points it couldn't load.
- An injection map in a note now shows the points saved in that note. You can change them only while the note is still your draft.
- Photos on a patient's timeline and in notes now always load. Before, they could show a grey placeholder instead.
- A patient's date of birth stays on the right day when you edit it, wherever you are, and the patient list now scrolls through every patient, not only the first 50.
- Signing out now clears patient photos, cached notes and messages from the device, so the next person to sign in on a shared iPad never sees them.
- Unsent messages and note edits stay with the clinician who wrote them. They are never sent under another account after a sign-out.
- In the US, the recording screen now says your audio stays in the US, under HIPAA.
- Draft, read and approve a note's aftercare on iPhone. Before you approve, Claro shows where it goes: emailed to the address on file, the patient's access page, or neither, with a way to add an email or give access.
1.4.3 Oct 16
- Claro is ready for iPhone Duo: it fills the whole screen, folded or open.
- A booking from your Timely calendar now shows who Claro thinks the patient is. Confirm it in one tap, choose between likely matches or add a new patient, then record without typing a name.
- After a Redraft on Note ready, Done now saves the redrafted note. Before, it could save the earlier version back over it.
- When Claro switches between its phone and tablet layouts, such as when you unfold an iPhone, turn a large iPhone sideways, or resize Claro on iPad, it now opens where you were: the same patient, note, settings page or Safety incident.
- Your unsaved changes, on Note ready or in a note you're editing, and any sheet you had open there or on the Record screen, are still there after the layout changes.
1.4.2 Oct 15
- When a recording's upload is interrupted, Claro finishes it without sending the whole recording again, so your note arrives sooner.
- If your clinic has used its included AI notes for the month, the Record screen tells you before you start.
- Where your clinic shares notes, a patient's file now shows your colleagues' notes too. They open read-only, with the author's name.
- A note you can't edit now says so once and lets you copy your text, instead of retrying the save in the background.
- Messages no longer reload several times over on iPad after you resize Claro.
1.4.1 Oct 14
- Give a patient access to their visit: they scan a QR code on your phone and see it in Claro.
- Clinical insights are ready under every note. Approve what you need; the rest folds away.
- Redraft a note the way you want it, and make a change you always ask for your default.
- Patient pickers show mobile, email and suburb, so you choose the right person.
- Letters copy as plain text, ready to paste anywhere.
1.4.0 Oct 12
- Share or print any note as a PDF, on your clinic's letterhead.
- If another app takes the microphone, Claro reminds you to come back and carries on recording when you do.
- Clearer messages when something can't be done, in place of error codes.
1.3.59 Oct 8
- On iPad, Claro now tells you when closing the cover has switched the microphone off.
- A recording that saved no audio now says so plainly, with the option to discard it.
- A new recording always gets its own note, even straight after continuing another.
1.3.58 Oct 7
- The lock screen no longer says "Recording may have stopped" while a recording is still going.
- Continuing after Claro was closed mid-recording picks up where you left off, in the same note.
- A recording left running in a silent room now stops after an hour, with a warning at 30 minutes.
- New setting: stop a recording automatically after 5, 10 or 15 minutes of silence.
- Claro now lets you know if another of your recordings is still running.
1.3.57 Sep 30
- Recording into an existing note now adds to that note, instead of starting a new one.
- A recording left running now stops on its own after 6 hours, and the note says so.
- Claro notices sooner if a recording stops saving after you pause or take a call.
1.3.56 Sep 29
- If a network block briefly stops Claro connecting, you're no longer signed out.
- Claro hides your screen in the app switcher to keep patient details private. Turn it off in Settings › Security.
1.3.55 Sep 28
- Can't sign in? The sign-in screen now shows how to email us: hello@claro.clinic.
- If a network block stops Claro connecting, sign-in now says so instead of blaming your connection.
1.3.54 Sep 26
- A call or Siri during a recording no longer splits the consultation or shows a false error.
- Clinics using patient plans can now see and update a patient's plan from the note.
- Closing your account now explains what happens to your clinics, records and billing first.
- Brief connection interruptions are retried automatically instead of showing an error.
1.3.53 Sep 25
- If Claro can't write up a consultation, your recording is kept instead of deleted.
1.3.52 Sep 22
Recording reliability:
- If a call or Siri interrupts a recording, it now carries on. Claro rebuilds the audio connection rather than just restarting it, and keeps trying for long enough that the phone has actually handed the microphone back. Recovery used to give up after two seconds, which was never enough.
- Plugging in a headset or microphone part-way through is now handled. Claro rebuilds the connection instead of carrying on with one that has stopped delivering audio.
- Continuing a recording after a problem now streams to Claro as you speak, the same as the first part did. Continued recordings were only being kept on the device.
- A consultation now stays with one note. If Claro lost track of which note a recording belonged to, it could start a second one and leave the first holding audio nothing would ever write up.
- Discarding no longer throws away a consultation Claro has already saved for you.
- A recording that's recovered after a problem no longer reports a failure it didn't have. It could say "Something went wrong" while the consultation was already being written up — and offer to discard it.
- The notice after a recovered recording no longer shows an impossible figure like "about 44 seconds of about 43 seconds". When the whole recording survived, it now says so.
The lock screen:
- The Recording indicator no longer counts on forever after Claro closes. It ends when the consultation is written up, and says "Recording may have stopped" — within about a minute and a half, rather than several — when Claro can't confirm it's still going, including with no signal at all.
- It now tells the difference between a recording you paused and one interrupted by something taking the microphone, rather than showing both as "Paused".
No signal:
- Losing connection part-way through a consultation now says what's actually happening: "No connection. This consultation is saving to your device and will upload by itself." Recording carries on as normal, and nothing needs doing when the signal comes back.
Elsewhere:
- A clinic whose plan has lapsed is now told that, instead of being asked to check its internet connection.

1.3.50 Sep 14

1.3.48 Sep 8
Recording reliability:
- If a recording doesn't finish, Claro now tells you the next time you open the app, and what went wrong — instead of leaving you to find an empty note later.
Calendar:
- The agenda marks the current time and opens there.
- The day view no longer hides anything scheduled before 6am.
- A new appointment starts on the day you tapped with you as the practitioner, and won't save without a patient.
Patient file:
- Clinical notes now sit above personal notes.
- The next appointment is shown, with a Book button.
- Phone numbers and email addresses are tappable — on the file, and by swiping or holding a row in a list.
iPad:
- The record screen shows the clinic you're recording for, and can import audio.
- Sharing audio to Claro from another app now works.
1.3.47 Sep 5
Recording reliability:
- Fixed a bug that made every recording fail to save in the first session after installing Claro. Your first consultations are safe to record straight after installing.
- If a recording does fail to save, Claro now finishes uploading it before asking the server to write it up, so the note covers the whole consultation.
1.3.45 Sep 2
- Groundwork for ordering. The store's "coming soon" screen can now carry the wholesale application, so a clinic can apply for store access from the phone once Fresh Clinics opens applications. It stays switched off until then, and nothing about the screen changes in the meantime.
1.3.43 Sep 1
- You can now record a consultation straight from a patient's file. The menu there leads with it, so you no longer have to pick "Write a note" to reach recording. Recording starts on the note itself, with the patient already linked.
- The calendar now draws on your own timezone rather than whatever the device is set to, so times read correctly when you're away from your usual clinic.
- A new appointment now opens on the next quarter hour instead of the exact minute you happened to tap, matching the times the picker below actually offers.
- When a suggestion can't be applied, you now see why. It used to say only "Server error (422). Please try again", which didn't tell you that, for instance, the medication isn't on that patient's record.
1.3.42 Aug 31
- Record on your Apple Watch: start a consultation from your wrist and your iPhone writes the note.
- Start recording from your watch face, the Action button, or an appointment reminder on your Watch.
- Discarding a recording keeps the note you were recording into, and anything you typed.
- Fixes and improvements.
