If a wine is kept in more than one place, such as at home and in a summer house, Edit placement now asks which bottles you want to move. Bottles moved to a place without shelves no longer keep their old shelf. Recently scanned no longer shows wines you have finished, and a wine can be removed from the list with ×.

New: messages from Vinoary. When we have something to tell you or ask you, it appears on your dashboard and under the envelope icon at the top. You answer with one tap or write a reply. Plus minor fixes.

Scans you didn't get to finish now appear under Scan. Finish them whenever it suits you – no need to scan again. You can close the review and come back later. The scan stays where you left it. Plus minor fixes.

Wines you scanned without adding them to your cellar now appear under Scan – add them to your cellar with one tap. If the label can't be read in full, the app now tells you what's missing and where to find it – usually on the back label. Plus minor fixes.

Red and white wines with the same name and vintage are now kept apart. If the type can't be read from the label, you choose it yourself before the analysis starts. New in Cellar: Scans. The wines you scanned without adding them to your cellar are collected here – and if a scan failed, you can try again without photographing the bottle a second time. Plus minor fixes.

Everything is open until you have tried Premium New users now get the whole app from the first scan — analysis, drinking window, cellar value and wine journal — across all 15 free scans. Search finds accented wines again. Type chateau without the accent and you get Château. Storage places and shelves can be renamed, and you can set their capacity. Rename or delete a place and every bottle follows — including the ones sitting directly on the place rather than on a shelf. The price estimate now sits alongside what you paid for the bottle. The app also has a new icon.

The wine log can now be edited. Rename an occasion, take a wine back out of it, or delete an entry entirely — and you can search by the occasion's name and filter by a date range. Maturity now waits for the full answer: previously the app could show "at its best" one moment and "still improving" the next. The drinking window's years still appear right away.

Scanning is faster, and the drinking window now appears while the rest of the analysis is still being written — you no longer have to wait for the full text to see when the bottle should be opened. On the confirmation screen after a scan: • If the vintage can't be read from the label, you can type it — or mark the wine as non-vintage • Country names now appear in your own language • If a scan fails, you're told, instead of being left with a blank screen

Search now finds wines with accents, however you type them. "chateau" finds Château, and "saint-estephe" finds Saint-Estèphe.
