more Tree volumes for the European species now use the official coefficients of Annex 16 of the Romanian Order 1323/2015, row by row,for each species.
While you speak a voice command, the microphone capsule shows bars that follow your voice.

Diameter on iPhones with LiDAR: the calipers lock onto the trunk's edges on their own, you see exactly where the figure comes from and can adjust them, while LiDAR measures the distance to the tree directly.
New on Apple Watch: live distance, the same figure as on the phone's panel, while the watch screen is on.
1.39 3d ago
Voice commands: tap the microphone button above the yellow button and say the species("spruce", "sycamore maple") — in Inventory, Plots, Height, Crown,Circumference and Log.
In the Inventory you can also say the class("beech quality two", "firewood"), and with a long press the mic keepslistening: "mark", "fix", "aim" and "save" press the yellow button without touching the screen.
Recognition runs on the phone, so it works without signal once the voice model has downloaded.

Sample plots, dgM heights: while you measure them, only the dgM trees stay on screen, and the disc of the tree to measure grows with distance, so you can find it easily from afar. After you aim at the base, a white line shows where you aimed: if it does not sit on the ground, ↺ redoes the base. After the top, the app moves on to the next tree by itself, and "New plot" reminds you of the ones left.
A height measured again replaces the old one in hgM.
1.36 Oct 19
Sample plots: volume per area for the whole stand, total and by species, from dgM and the height of each species dgM tree, measured right from the
plot screen. Shows in Charts and in the PDF, with Bitterlich basal area alongside.
Inventory: notes on each tree. The photo holds only the camera image and is attached to the tree; the disc on the trunk shows its number.
1.35 Oct 12
Height, crown and inventory: mark the tree, step back about as far as it is tall, and aim at the base and the top from there.
The panel shows the ideal distance, on slopes too; a sighting that cannot be a tree top is refused with a vibration.
Apple Watch always follows the screen open on your phone.
The PDF report also shows the crown width.
More stability in the field.
1.34 Oct 10
Basal Area (Bitterlich): the gap between the lines is computed from the
phone's camera and corrected for slope automatically. Zoom with the +/−
buttons.
1.33 Oct 5
Slope & Routes: save the stations of a forest road, with GPS position, slope and sighting direction. On the map and in GeoJSON, the route iscolored by the limit, ready to open in QGIS.
Custom slope limit, set on a wheel, in degrees or percent.
Stations can also be saved from an Apple Watch with Double Tap.
1.32 Sep 30
Log: after the last measurement, the log's shape appears in AR — a frustum
for Smalian, a cylinder for Huber. The body is transparent (the real log
shows through) and displays Ø and L labels matching the panel.
1.31 Sep 29
Fixed plots: the boundary is now a virtual orange fence. Measured trees
hide it behind them. Stakes on the cardinal points (N in red).
Canopy cover: the panel shows the stand mean from all saved readings.
Exports: unmeasured values are empty instead of 0; no false points at
(0, 0) in QGIS.

Canopy Cover — new module
• Measures stand canopy cover (K) optically from the camera image: hold the phone level
with the camera facing the sky, and the app separates sky from canopy inside the central
disc. No LiDAR needed — it works on any iPhone.
• The circle on screen is the analysed area, at its true scale — whatever you frame inside
it gets measured, the rest of the frame does not.
• A level bubble at the centre shows how far you are from horizontal and which way to
correct. The ring around it is the threshold itself: once the bubble is inside the ring,
you can take the reading.
• The sky/canopy threshold is chosen automatically for every frame — there is nothing to
calibrate.
• Each reading comes with its standard class: closed, nearly closed, open or sparse.
• Take several readings spread across the stand — one reading is a sample, not the stand
value. The session mean appears in the panel and in the PDF report.
Inventory now has three modes
• Choose at session start: full inventory, diameters only, or heights only. Height
measurement now lives here; the separate menu card is gone.
Improvements
1.29 Sep 21
Inventory and Fixed Plots: after fixing the diameter, a band marks the height where it was measured.
1.28 Sep 18
Measurement accuracy
• Rotating the phone to landscape during a measurement produced diameters about
25% too small, and volumes roughly 40% too low. The screen is now locked to
portrait — the orientation the measurement geometry has always assumed.
• On iPad mini, the Bitterlich relascope drew its opening about 19% too narrow,
overestimating basal area by roughly 50%. Other iPad models were not affected.
If you measured in landscape, or used the relascope on an iPad mini, those
records are affected. Saved measurements are not altered retroactively.
Photos
• Photos that vanished from records after restoring your device now reappear.
The files were never lost — only the stored path stopped resolving.
Design
• Unified Liquid Glass surfaces across the menu, Export, Backup and the session
dialogs, over a new contour-line background.
Also
• Now runs on iOS 26.0 and later (previously 26.4).
• The weather pill sends only an approximate position (~1 km) instead of your
exact GPS fix.

Three new features in this version
Large trees — circumference
For trunks too wide for calipers: place a marker on the bark, walk around the tree, and the app fits a circle to the bark contact points — not to your path. Works on any iPhone, no LiDAR needed. Auto-closes at 360° or can be finished manually from 270°.
Round logs
Field volume for felled timber. Two formulas:
• Smalian — diameter at both ends
• Huber — diameter at mid-length
Auto-detection (LiDAR and RGB) works in both caliper orientations. AR rings drawn at the measured diameters serve as a visual cross-check.
iCloud sync
Records sync between iPhone and iPad. Off by default — enable in Settings when you're ready.

Dual diameter D1+D2 for oval trunks
AR Inventory and Fixed Plot now support measuring two perpendicular diameters (D1 and D2) for trees with an oval cross-section. The mean diameter Dm = (D1+D2)/2 is calculated automatically and used for volume computation.
How it works: after fixing the first diameter (D1), two options appear — "Save D1" if the tree is circular, or "Add D2" to rotate the phone 90° and measure the second diameter. D1 and D2 are exported separately in CSV, GeoJSON, and PDF.
1.15 Jul 14
More precise diameter measurement: rebuilt automatic trunk edge detection (better in shade, with off-center trunks or a tilted phone) + high-resolution photo refinement when locking.
