Konect 2
Field data. Maps. Anywhere.
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Konect v2 is a ground-up rebuild of the Konect field data collection platform.
Same proven workflows. Modern architecture.
Designed to work reliably in the real world.
** Konect v2 **
Works anywhere — data is stored and managed on your device first, then synced when you're back in coverage. No more losing work in the field.
Data Tabs — complex records are organised into focused, navigable tabs (e.g. Asset, History, Photos, Work Orders, Inspections) instead of long scrolling forms.
Multi-basemap support — switch between satellite imagery, street maps and other layers on the fly from within a project.
* Core capabilities
Konect v2 carries forward the full feature set of Konect:
Custom form building with auto-populating fields, role-based variants and photo annotation
Points, lines and polygons with vertical topology and snap-to-feature editing
Auto GPS drawing for accurate position tracking in the field
Data import, collection and export — no coding required
Queries and filters for working with large datasets
Full audit trail with activity playback
Device-level search across forms and records
* Who it's for
Konect is used by field crews, inspectors, contractors and asset managers across telecommunications, roads and infrastructure, utilities, local government, agriculture and environment, disaster recovery, and maintenance management. If your work involves collecting location-based data in the field, this is the tool.
Konect v2 runs alongside Konect v1
Both apps will be available in the store during the transition period.
Your existing projects and data are not affected.

------------
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup now has its own dedicated, full-screen page instead of a pop-up dialog, making it easier to set up and manage. [K2B-103]
On the map, you can now long-press the My Location button to toggle moving-map mode (this replaces the previous double-tap gesture). [K2B-84]
Downloaded projects that were automatically added by an administrator now display a clear "Admin" badge so you can tell them apart from projects you downloaded yourself. [K2B-96]
Attachments and photos that simply haven't been downloaded yet are now shown distinctly from ones that failed with an error, so it's clearer what (if anything) needs your attention. [K2B-99]
Fixed
-------
Fixed an issue on iOS where reopening the app after it had been in the background could incorrectly sign you out. The app now only signs you out for legitimate reasons and otherwise restores your session smoothly.
Refreshed the offline basemaps page with an updated look and feel that matches the offline projects screen. [K2B-98]
In forms, the Related Items tab no longer lists datasets that are only meant for map display, keeping the tab focused on relevant items. [K2B-97]
Improved the document attachment field's appearance and fixed a bug that prevented attachments from being removed correctly.
Fixed a stretched/distorted loading spinner that appeared while attachments were loading in forms. [K2B-100]
Improved layout on landscape orientation and on devices with notches or rounded corners — page content, headers, and footers now stay clear of screen edges and unsafe areas across the app, including the data list, accounts, and settings screens.
Updated background location tracking to a newer version for improved reliability.

** New **
Live map updates — features on the map now refresh automatically as you pan and zoom, so the data you see always stays in sync with the area you're viewing. [K2B-87]
Smarter sync queue — syncing has been reworked to upload your changes in a sensible priority order, with proper pause/resume support and the ability to focus on your active project first. This makes syncing more reliable and predictable, especially with large amounts of data. [K2B-75]
Annotation text styling — you can now choose between serif and sans-serif fonts when adding text annotations, with refreshed, better-looking fonts throughout. [K2B added]
Data view picker shows query names — when a data view is based on a query, its name now appears in brackets in the picker so it's easier to tell views apart.
Related items are easier to navigate — secondary tabs are now sorted alphabetically by name, and related items are accessed through a cleaner "more" button and bottom sheet.
Quick access to Release Notes, Beta, and website — the app now links directly to the online release notes, the beta program, and the Konect website. [K2B-50]
** Fixed **
App now starts when offline even after data cleared — fixed an issue where the app could fail to start when opened offline after previously logging in and clearing data. [K2B-93]
More reliable photo and attachment syncing — fixed several problems with attachments: deleted attachments are now correctly removed after syncing, attachments and features sync in the correct order, and each sync stage fully completes before the next begins. [K2B-58]
Map editing fix — corrected unwanted zooming while dragging a vertex on the map. [K2B-7]
Form title display — form headers now show the variant's display label when one is set, and the title stays correctly centred even when the delete action is visible.
Annotation editor in landscape — fixed hidden side panels incorrectly appearing in landscape orientation.
Smoother form interactions — the "more" button now animates away immediately when switching to the related items tab.
Improved Android data handling— better parsing of data on Android for fewer errors. [K2B-89]
Basemaps on web — fixed issues with basemaps when using the app in a browser. [K2B-75]
Environment switching — environments are now fully synced before switching between them.
Consistent delete actions — delete buttons and confirmation dialogs now use a consistent style and clearer wording across the app.

What's new
Refreshed the form screen header: the dataset and variant name is now centred at the top, the back button has clearer text and a larger tap area, and the tabs use a cleaner pill-style indicator to show which one is selected.
Fixed
The status pill on the home screen now correctly shows "On-device" instead of "On-cloud" when the app starts, and shows a shimmer effect on the "On-cloud" pill while a project download is in progress so you can tell when data is still being fetched.
Corrected vertical spacing in the form layout.

**What's new**
Major upgrade to the photo annotation editor: redesigned toolbars with shape and line style pickers, a background colour bar, and a quick symbol-switch button right on the canvas. Text is now typed directly onto the photo instead of in a dialog, the editor makes better use of tablet and landscape screens, the canvas recentres when you rotate your device, and you're asked to confirm (with a count) before removing selected annotations.
Form actions now appear as a floating button overlay instead of a fixed action bar, freeing up screen space, and the form content now fades in smoothly once it has loaded.
Offline basemaps are now downloaded together with the rest of the project, with their own download progress indicator, and the project sync status shown on the home screen now accurately reflects what is actually stored on the device.
Topology move rules are now applied when editing feature geometry on the map — connected features follow the configured rules, GPS-derived fields update automatically when a feature's shape changes, and geometry edits are saved through the open form.
**Fixed**
Fields on read-only form variants can no longer be changed.
Fixed the home screen not updating correctly after removing a downloaded project and then re-downloading it, along with a related layout glitch.
Datasets in the Data tab are now listed in alphabetical order.
Map-only datasets are no longer shown anywhere in the Data tab.
Security improvements to the in-app map.
1.0.10 Jun 12
New
- Introduced a photo annotation editor so you can mark up your photos right in the app — draw shapes, lines and freehand sketches, drop in symbols, and pick colours. The tools sit in a tidy bottom toolbar with
shapes and lines grouped into dropdowns, and you're prompted before clearing all annotations or discarding unsaved changes.
- Refreshed the photo viewer with a smooth slide-up transition over the form, a quick edit button, a tidier app bar for removing photos, and haptic feedback.
- Widened the form on tablets and in landscape so you can now fit five image thumbnails across.
Fixes
- You can now pinch-to-zoom and pan within the photo viewer and annotation editor, and the controls hide and show correctly while you do. [K2B-4]
- Fixed an issue where only the first of several photos attached to a record would sync to Konect Manager — all attached photos now sync reliably. [K2B-60]
- Improved multi-geometry features: multi-point features now highlight correctly and a crash when reshaping multi-line features has been resolved. Reshaping multi-polygon features is intentionally blocked, with
an on-screen notice if you try. [K2B-5]
- Dataset name changes made on the server now come through correctly when you refresh. [K2B-11]
- After saving an edit to an existing record, the app now returns you to the map, data grid or parent record, matching the original Konect behaviour. [K2B-30]
- The Data tab dataset picker now shows form variant display names instead of query names. [K2B-33]
- Radio button lists now wrap long labels neatly, align them to the top, and let you tap the label itself to make a selection. [K2B-65]
- Fixed several intermittent display glitches for users with large font size settings on their phone, for a more stable, reliable interface.

**What's new**
Loading spinners throughout the app now show a branded rotating Konect logo for a more polished, consistent look.
The home screen now shows your username, right-aligned on wider layouts such as tablets and landscape.
Improved layouts across sign-in, forgot password, account, demo, and form screens to make better use of the screen on tablets and in landscape, including tidier action buttons and the Forgot Password and Try Demo Mode options now sitting side by side.
Polished the manage project panel — it now opens with a drag handle, shows a skeleton loader while device statistics load, and defers loading those statistics until the panel has finished opening for smoother animation.
Added pull-to-refresh to the data table so you can refresh records with a downward swipe.
Updated the underlying app framework to the latest version for improved stability and future device compatibility.
**Fixed**
Overhauled the multi-factor authentication prompt: it now animates in and out smoothly, uses a number keypad, offers a hint to paste your code, automatically clears and refocuses the entry when a code is wrong, dismisses the keyboard on success, and reliably appears whenever a code is required.
Required list fields in form variants now correctly offer a blank option and default value, matching how they behave on the primary form.
Required child list fields now clear their previously chosen value when the parent list changes and the old value is no longer valid.
Required child list fields now show the correct list options based on the parent field's value, even before the parent has been changed.
Fixed list content being indented incorrectly on iPhone in landscape orientation.
Polished destructive action buttons (such as on the Discard Changes dialog) so they use a clear, consistent style.
Back buttons now use the correct platform-native icon (an arrow on Android and a chevron on iOS).
The forgot password screen now shows its error message correctly on the first step.

New
• Redesigned offline project cards on the home screen — see on-device record count, attachment count, and storage size at a glance. The project icon is now tappable to open the manage
view.
• Pull-to-refresh on the home screen, with haptic feedback at the pull threshold and a smooth automatic snap-back on release.
Fixes
• Map-only datasets no longer appear in the data tab.
• Grid search using "Contains" is now case-insensitive, with on-screen labels clarifying that Contains is case-insensitive and Exact is case-sensitive.
• Drawing a related child feature now correctly links it to its parent (offline/online sync fix).
• Multi-factor authentication: MFA sign-in no longer fails with an error, the cursor now defaults into the MFA input when it appears, and re-logging in with MFA no longer briefly
bounces you to the account screen.
• Fixed an auth-refresh issue that could leave the home screen stuck on the project skeleton loader.
• Home screen no longer shows the project skeleton loader on every visit — opening and switching projects feels noticeably snappier.
• Removed an unnecessary location services banner at startup on iOS, and stopped the iOS login screen from auto-capitalising your input.
• PDF viewer now correctly honours landscape orientation when configured.
• Manage project card no longer shows a stale state after removing data from the project.
• Manage project card chevron now uses the correct icon colour in dark mode.
• Resolved a crash that could occur on the home screen on desktop platforms (Windows/macOS).
• Tidied padding and divider spacing on the settings page, with consistent secondary icon colour on list and expansion tile chevrons throughout the app.
• Fixed an issue where new database tables (used for additional project sync settings) were not being created on existing installs after an update.
1.0.7 May 23
Emergency Fix
• App icons are now displayed correctly
1.0.6 May 18
NEW (1)
• Configuration changes are checked and updated when going to the home tab. New or removed projects should automatically be updated in the projects list. The current project will be reopened if any of its configuration has changed.
FIXED (8)
• Calculated numeric fields are now rounded to 2 decimal places.
• Environments that contain large numbers of projects and queries should load faster. 1000s of projects will still take time to load, we recommend reducing projects assigned to user.
• Datasets downloaded to the device containing fields that start with number will now work.
• Fixed an issue when signing back into an organisation, when 2 users have signed into the same organisation on the same device.
• Calculated fields using the info functions should now be working.
• Release notes should be displaying in app again.
• PDF viewer will update preview on orientation change.
• Calculated fields can be edited in field variants.
